Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

Ah, ok... I get what you mean.

There was an issue awhile back, that apparently voltages set below (some internal limit... seems like it may have been 800) just errored out to default voltage. I strongly suspect this to be the issue for anyone claiming 600mv. I forget the details, but seems that there is no way to verify voltage has been set.

I too am having the problem involving my phone, when losing signal, failing to ever reconnect. Once I go into a no-signal zone I have to reboot my phone in order to get signal back even in a signal zone.

Also I noticed that sometimes when I try to drag the lock screen bubble to the unlock the phone will not allow me to, and the bubble will move halfway then bounce back. I have to lock and unlock my phone again in order to unlock it.

Edit: I've also noticed that when using my wifi it will randomly drop and return few seconds later

I have heard that a few people have had success monkeying around with the roaming settings. You might want to try that out.

You can also try flashing a different gapps package. If you are using the one in the OP, you might want to try one of the newer universal packages for ICS. They run okay on this ROM and may fix some of your issues. If you are using one of the newer universal gapps packages, you can try reverting to the one in the OP.

Wifi. Check your wifi advanced settings. Access this with the menu button in the wifi settings area. There should be a setting that will toggle off your wifi when screen is off or go into sleep mode. If you don't want that, make sure that it says "wifi always on" or something like that. Your current setting might be the cause of your wifi problem.

Good to know. This could be partially tested if allowed to insert lower values. For instance, I could insert 400; if phone doesn't reboot, this would probably mean that it is reverting to default. A reboot would likely suggest that values are being written.

In any case, I hope it turns out the undervolting is more than a placebo! Looking forward to an update that fixes the init.d issue.

Went out to my car after work and my phone (that I leave in my car during work) didn't have a connection. Looks like changing the roaming settings did not fix the loss of signal problem.

There's plenty of users on here talking about the existence of this issue so I think it's pretty definitive that it exists. I saw I post just a few pages back saying that it was introduced in a recent release (forget which rom). We'll probably want to trace that back and see what changed that could have caused it.

Edit: Here's the post I was thinking of. Since there has been a lot more noise about this recently, it might be something different.

Hey guys, I flashed 0.6.11.0 yesterday night after doing a wipe data/factory reset. Everything seems to work fine but one major issue I have is that I dont hear the other party during a normal phone call until I plug in my headset or when switching to loud-speaker mode. Youtube shows a similar problem: No sound during playback - only through headset.

Notification sounds do work though through the phone's speakers. Did I miss a setting? Or should I re-flash?

Thanks!

I am planning on doing a factory reset. Can the CM9 updates be installed as a standalone rom?? Meaning, before I would have installed the earliest version of CM9, then wipe cache with the updates?? I have the newest update of CM9, can I just install that after doing a reset?? Thanks

You can just install the latest one.

I'll probably get this partially mixed up but...
I think you can only choose values that are in the kernel, and they have to match with a list of values in a table of valid voltages for the voltage regulator. Voltage regulators, in general, can only operate within a given range of voltages.
Anyway, I think it's not as simple as just trying a random, obviously low number.
There's a discussion on this somewhere... maybe it was in Whyzor's reloaded thread.

Actually, it was Whyzor who said that his phone was stable running at 600. however, i did look over the table and the discussion in the OC thread. The voltages started at 800 and move up in increments of 25. There was mention that values below 800 would revert back to the lowest supported voltage, ie, 800. There was also some discussion of the possibility that some governors might not allow variable voltages to be used.

In general though, nothing there seemed to be definitive since there is no way to measure the actual voltage, It seems like the best that could be done is an indirect test. For instance, if the system uses the lowest supported voltage when someone tries to enter an unsupported number below that, it should default back to 800. Assuming that 800 is stable at the lowest frequencies, that should also mean that any value that I enter should be stable at those frequencies. I should not be getting any reboots at the lowest frequencies because it should always default back to 800 if I enter any values below it. Yes?

OK, to the devs/admins here. Anyone have a problem with me starting another thread/poll to toubleshoot the signal loss issues people are having? I'm thinking the following for the poll.

CM9 - Are you experiencing loss of signal/Data?

-Yes, I'm running a Stock PRL (if you don't know, you're running stock)
-Yes, I'm running a different PRL (please leave a comment with further explaination)
-No, I'm running a Stock PRIL
-No, I'm running a different PRL

HDMI and USB tether is still needed before its beta.
I think once the camera is implemented we can finally move on to beta.

They devs will decide when to call it whatever they want. Alpha, beta full release, it's all arbitrary and up to the people putting it out.

There's really no need to worry about any of that, it's a good ROM already. It will only get better and what it is called doesn't matter.

Mantera has said that once the camera is fixed it will be beta iirc... Also just a thought cm7 has been released and completed many times (well 2...) and it's not still in alpha and it doesn't have hdmi out working... just saying...

I'm on Whyzor's latest CM7 and am totally happy. I'm still itching to give this a run, but I needs the camera, lol. To all the dudes working on this stuff, I just want to say thanks. You guys transform owning these phones into a whole new experience. My kid works writing apps for iPhones, and now is getting into the Microsoft stuff, but I'm stuck on Droids . I love my cheapo triumph on virgin mobile.
