Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

I'm thinking about building every day, at least for myself. My build yesterday got 40 downloads, so it would appear there are a few people who appreciate it. Here i my build for today:

  • Compiled from Mantera/CM source (v0.5.2)
  • Includes Progmanos's MMS fix (tested and confirmed MMS working)
  • Pretty much the same as Alpha 0.5.2 except:
  • Added Facebook contact sync (Gerrit 1 2)
  • Fixed Superuser (Gerrit)
  • Removed Japanese IME input (it was annoying me, and you can't disable it)

update-cm-9.0.0.Triumph-Alpha-nate-0.5.2-signed.zip

If anyone has any feedback or things I should try to add, let me know. I don't know much programming (yet) so I can't code anything new, but i can try porting features/options from other ROMs if the source is available. The simpler the request, the more likely it is I'll be able to figure it out.

All credit for the hard stuff goes to the great devs listed on the 3rd post in this thread. I take no credit :)

NOTE: You need to flash gapps every time for ICS ROMs. Even if you're upgrading without wiping, you still need to flash gapps.

I think I found a bug with the battery notification; I tried to change it to percentage instead of the bar and it won't take; Even tried rebooting but no dice.

Yeah, I noticed the same behavior. I assume it is a bug with the cm9 code, and not specific to our device, but I have no way of confirming. The whole cm9 settings menu is undergoing very rapid development right now, so it's not surprising to find an option or two that doesn't work yet.

Pretty impressive for an alpha release. The performance when wifi is on is sluggish, it's very snappy once you turn it off, for me at least. Also seems the touchscreen is a little iffy. Often takes two taps to select something.

Thanks to all those who are working on this. Very great start guys.

Edit: Yeah, I need the wifi to work better in order for me to use this as my daily rom. I might have to go back to CM7 until the performance issue is fixed. Damn, I like it otherwise though. Excited for the release in which it's fixed. Thanks again guys.

Another tip. If anyone wants to use Google music from the market, delete the CM9 music from /system/app folder. It works for me flawlessly that way. same thing I had to do in CM7 as well.

Is the phone's microphone supposed to be working in this build? Mine wasn't and I don't know if it's an isolated incident or not.
Thanks for this, made a lot of people jealous yesterday when I mentioned CM9/ICS was on the Triumph!

It only works in calls

Well, I was going to complain that the third alpha release hasn't happened yet and it's been like almost two days already, but never mind.

You people are amazing. This is really fun to watch. I look forward to the completed project, but please get out and get some fresh air if you want every once in a while. We can wait.

The devs here are wizards.

Wow pillbug save it for somewhere else! There doing a great job two updates in the last two days!

Pretty sure that was sarcasm. If not, we can all just ignore it. The devs know to work at their own pace.
