Root [ROM][AOSP]dGB v01_28_2012| 2.3.5| 375MB /data| 60MB /system |Mult-lang |Unlock |Reboot[28 Jan]

Hi SURoot, Thanks for your small ROM. It's getting better and better!!

One request tho if possible... To remove notification by sliding it off the screen (as in Redux2).

Would this be possible?

cheers, Dave

what do you mean?
you mean the bar at the top to disapeer completely?
this can be done by using a custom launcher like go

Sorry what I mean is in the notification pull down, when for example a couple of new apps are downloaded they show up in the pull down menu.

In Redux2 it is possible to slide them off the screen one at a time. At the moment i think it's only possible to clear all at one time from dGB.

Hope i've explained better?? cheers

You can do that in UOT. If I remember correctly you can choose to show the charging symbol or the percentage or a hybrid of both.

What I really like about this ROM is how stable it is whilst being fast, smooth etc. Even a minor niggle with a rom can be very irritating when I'm busy with work and just need my phone to work.

sorry sak01 I only just saw this. I know you can use UOT for those changes I mentioned, thanks.

Not sure why but my phone seems to be taking a lot longer to boot up than normal.

I just rebooted and timed from when I first saw the splash screen to when I first saw the home page and it was 2mins 57secs. Is that slow?

What determines how quickly the phone boots up?

mines always taken ages since having custom hboots. just how it is

SURoot -- or anyone else to that matter who knows more about flashing hboot's than me.

I want to flash the (greatly praised) dGB and take full advantage of the memory it offers. In order to do this, I intend to flash the 65/system hboot via Android Flasher after flashing the Rom via recovery (with the full wipe etc).. Then.. Is that it? Will the provided hboot sort out all the space allocations? Ie do effectively the same as the custom MTD?

Tah all as usual!

J

I don't know any more but yes it does sort the partitions out for you. It may not reboot your phone when you use Android Flasher but a battery pull and reboot does the trick.

Hmm, thanks for the input sir. I'm a little bit apprehensive about flashing the hboot as I know it can brick your phone. However I can't really envisage it going wrong.

1) Flash Rom via recovery
2) Go through initial setup
3) Flash hboot via Android Flasher (Do I leave my phone on..? I assume so if I need to do a battery pull if it doesn't reset by itself)
4) Happy days with dGB?

Sounds simple enough. I think I'm just being over analytical for no good reason.

The hboot will sort the partitions for you.

That's the way I did it: flashed and set up the ROM, checked all OK, then took a nandroid and changed hboot. The nandroid is important - I've since seen some posts say that it might just work after changing hboot, but if there's any problem a nandroid restore will fill the new partitions. Personally I just flashed the hboot then did a nandroid restore, then rebooted into android.

Main precaution is to check the md5 of the hboot before flashing. If that checks out you should be fine.

Can't advise on android flasher - I just used fastboot flash.

Personally I did it the other way round: flashed and set up the ROM, checked all OK, then took a nandroid and changed hboot (then restored the nandroid afterwards - I've seen some posts here suggesting you may be OK without this, but if not the nandroid will restore ROM and data to the new partitions).

That is the method I was planning on doing?

Either way -- Thanks for clearing it up for me :D

Edit: Ah! I noticed your Edit. Never mind :D
