hi guys - ok tracked down the said file with astro, but cant seem to copy it to sd so can then send to pc to edit - or open it on phone :/

no i was using root enabled version of Es file explorer and then tried Astro

so assume i need root exp? will that allow me to copy to sd card?

ah ok - what with though? ive tried selecting different 'open as' options in astro but they all come back with file not found or blank contents etc :/
 
Something that has root access with read write permissions like root explorer. Or es should do it if you set it up correctly
 
ah ha! :D thanks Dan - i had given Es root but hadnt gone in to select load system dir etc - plus also needed to alter home dir - ta
 
does this look correct?
i altered the 875 in each row to 925 - assume that is min
and then on the 2nd and 3rd rows, added 50 to the 950 value

hi guys i am trying to install this amazing rom and also benefit frm flashing hboot but can someone plz help me how to flash hboot. the problem is my os is linux mint and i cant find any tutorials on the subject.
i appreciate all the help i can get thanx in advance

hi guys i hav a minor glitch not a big issue but still noticeable.
my key board doesnt display all no's i mean when u open keyboard the top qwerty row also shows no's right but in my fone i can only see a few like 1,2,4,5,0. ne solutions to set it right thnx in advance

p.s- can i thank you for givin us this beautiful rom your guides helped me to root my fone and you r the reason i shifted to redux 1.2 from gv (u changed roms i followed suit) now s-off, installing hboots oh the list is endless thnx again
 
I recommend you install your own keyboard. The one supplied is really only there so if you wipe the device, you can set it up again.

I use a HTC keyboard myself. It's in the ultimate toolbox thread if you want

Moving my son's phone over from Redux 2 to this ROM and am stuck on the splash screen.

I removed partition from sdcard

Did a full wipe [he has Amon-ra on his phone and I am not familiar with it. I think I did a full wipe]

Flashed the custom hboot [65mb]

Wiped again

Flashed ROM

Stuck on splash screen for 10-15mins.

Hbbot screen says:
Alpharev dGBrSU 65
Bravo PVT4 SHIP S_OFF
HBOOT 6.93.1002

Any ideas what to do before I tell my son lol?
 
Still no success. I got it to work using the oxygen hboot [thanks, Dan] but after downloading his apps from the market and a reboot it is stuck on the splash screen again.
 
Morning all. Sorted. I went the custom mtd way and it is working fine. Not sure what the problem was but at least the phone is flying along nicely.
 
I went into recovery and did a full wipe. I am not sure about using fastboot and though I could dig around for the commands I thought best to leave well alone. Dan said he thought that might be the issue. It is up and running well now though I did make the custom mtd a little larger than I needed too. Happy to leave it as it is. Thanks

Edit: Do you think I still need to do that? If so i would need some clear instructions to follow.
 
if you are using amonRA, you should fastboot erase system and fastboot erase cache when changing hboot
also if you were using custom mtd before you would have needed to reflash recovery to remove the patch

if its working now dont worry about it. its just if yu want to do it again at some point
 
Okay thanks. What do I type in the cmd window to run those commands?

Also to change the custom mtd I take a nandroid backup and then go through the procedure linked in OP and then restore, right?
