Yes, I was replying to your post 595, but by the time I'd posted that you'd posted 597 (which did things in the other order), so I amended to match that and try to make my post in some way not wholly redundant! ;)

But then we would have had this lovely conversation :)

Alright mate

Yeah, I used Android Flashed to flash a new recovery image, so I hope flashing a hboot was as easy to do as that process .

Main precaution is to check the md5 of the hboot before flashing. If that checks out you should be fine.

Can't advise on android flasher - I just used fastboot flash.

Got to admit, I'm guilty of not checking all my roms before flashing.. I will certainly make an effort to now :) -- Especially as you can check through the Desire and it's so simple. A little laziness can really turn around and screw you over.

Bah, must dash to work instead of trawling my forums. Life is so cruel..

dGB on SD directory, Nandroid of Redux, apps backed & data up on Titanium, hboot MD5 downloaded, checksum'd and validated with Android Flasher.

All set for Sat I think. Why not tonight? I have to spend some time with my girlfriend. She is SO selfish!

The developer recommends 1.4-GB-HAVS-AXI-CFS :)

I'm actually using the 2.02 test kernel this week, just for a change, but normally use the kernel above.

Just to say thanks for really excellent ROM. Been in use a week now and no major issues.

I had a bit of a scare after flashing the new Hboot. I flashed the ROM on my current Hboot (was created using Thalamus's hboot tool). Installed ok and booted up fine. (I've done this a few times before)

Did a Nandroid and cleared all the data. Into bootloader and flashed the Hboot (60mb) using Android flasher. It booted back to the bootloader and showed new Hboot. When i then tried to boot back into the recovery (4EXT) it partially loaded the screen (no menu). Ok. Powered off, back into recovery, recovery menu showing ok this time. Tried to select wipe options again...blank 4EXT screen?! Back button back to menu.

Thought maybe partition table struggling, so i flashed the 65mb HBoot and worked ok. I did also have a problem with USB in Fastboot mode, but a battery pull cured that. Related ?

I think it may have been an issue with not clearing the cache when using Android flasher? Any thoughts ? I'm now set up to do it properly with ADB/Fastboot on pc

Anyway, just thought i'd share it with you. ROM is the best thanks....:)

yes always use fastboot to clear cache
also it could be recovery based too. 4ext and RMD both have a few odd qwerks

Am I being really blind or is there not an option to have the lockscreen and pattern together? The option to disable the lockscreen when pattern is enabled is unchecked. Not a deal breaker but I'm just fussy :)

It's one or the other right now ...

That check box does nothing. Had a look into it one night but just couldn't work out the code behind that one

Fair enough. As long as l was doing something painfully stupid to prevent this from happening.
Have you got any dates you're working towards on an update? Also is there a simple way to get rid of the over scroll glow? I'm pretty sure it wasn't present in Redux 2.1 but I'm sure I read in the xda forum that was eliminated when the rom was being initially developed.

You can get rid of overscroll in the Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen I believe?

Dates? Not at the moment. Its almost the final version, just wanted to tie up a few loose ends (like removing the disable lockscreen with PIN option)...

At the moment, my new build machine doesnt like my dGB sources so I think i will need to bring over a few files from backup, but its working on ICS right now.

Im new to rooting and been running this rom for a few days and love it

Couple of questions can you turn on mobile data from the home screen without adding the power widget?

I installed the rom which gave total space of 148mb how do i easily change it to get the 340mb flavour ?

Could someone please give some step by steps in layman terms._

You need to read the alpharev partition tables section of the root memory faq. It requires you to S-Off the phone first.

I'm saying "read the FAQ" rather than providing a step-by-step list because this is changing some crucial stuff in the phone and it's really best that you understand what you are doing rather than follow a recipe blindly.

As for the mobile data thing, I guess that you don't want the power control widget on the homescreen, in which case why not use the power control in the notification pull-down? That's available from any homescreen, or when you are in most apps, and doesn't clutter your desktop.

I think I pretty much know what I'm supposed to do to flash the Hboot:
(this is no guide newbies, I'm just trying to confirm from the pros here if I've covered all the steps before I jump into it since I'm a newbie myself)
1. Use alpharev to set S-off
2. Flash Hboot downloaded from dGB site (btw, why are there two of them? 60MB and 65MB? Which one is preferred?)
3. Flash dGB ROM

Did I miss a step?

And one last question.... Does the partition table revert to the stock partitions if I restore my nand backup?
Sorry for the 20 questions, just want to make sure I'm doing it right :)

1. Yes, that's the first step (unless you have hboot 1.02, in which case you'll need to use revolutionary instead).
2. Personally I'd flash the ROM first, check that's all OK, then change hboot. That way you can change one thing at a time - since no other ROM fits these hboots, doing it the other way round means making both changes together.
3. Take a nandroid before flashing the hboot.
4. Flash the hboot. dGB will fit in either - 60MB gives more internal space, 65MB gives more room for theming (e.g. via UOT).
5. After flashing hboot, restore the nandroid.

And as you can see from step 5 above, restoring the nandroid does not change the partitions. You need to flash a different hboot to do that. This also means that if you want to change to another ROM or revert to a pre-dGB nandroid you must flash a larger hboot first.

First off love the ROM, very fast and love all the space! I was just wondering how do you enable Enable Auto Correction and Word Suggestions when typing text (sms etc.) . My sugggestion only come up with contact names but no words, any ideas on how to enable this?

Cheers

Don't use the built in keyboard. It's only there as a safety net.

Download something better off the market or the HTC ime mod from our ultimate toolbox thread

hey, got to flash my hboot already! I've got loads of space!

one more newbie question.... will the android market update on its own or do I have to install an apk of the new version?

Hi, I can't seem to get mobile data working on this ROM, any ideas on how to fix it? I've. Got the latest radio and I get signal fine but mobile data/internet doesn't work...
