-Transparent Notification Window Patch by Xeudoxus

credits given, sure. but more to support that it's a mashup.

it's not like pete gives his donations to the ROMs he uses in his builds. that sort of seems like stealing to me

I haven't had a single FC, a single bug, or any problems since I loaded it... running on 51 hours of uptime so far.

No bugs here either. Everything I've tested works. The only gripe I have about "ALL" the sounds is that the "Droid Invasion" ringtone is no longer on the list. I used it as my weather alert sound and would love to see it included in the next update. Hint Hint, Pete :)

Don't just cherry pick a few items. How you managed to lose all credibility when you possess none is amazing to me. Email Pete your questions, go back to your gossip circle, start your own thread if you want, do whatever it is you are attempting to do elsewhere. Don't take away from other users legitimate questions and tips about BB 0.4 with your nonsense.

Sorry for all the battery updates but it is over 16 hours since I took this off the charger and I'm at 60% battery per my notification bar and 50% showing on the battery life widget...normal use for me throughout the day. I'll evaluate tomorrow and see if this is repeatable.

Anyone else seeing really good battery life with this? I'm running tons of widgets, FB, Twitter, email all sending in the background...I'm just a little shocked :D

You should really start up a different thread based on your opinions rather than littering this thread with statements no one cares about. This thread is meant to help and support those in need with assistance with this particular rom, not speak of what a dev. Does or doesn't. You may comment on how others are doing the same as to defend pete, but your the one to instigate such behavior if you plan to bad mouth the op. Just stop with the comments, create a thread about your complaining, and wait for it to be locked, until then please refrain from upsetting people. Thanks.

Anyhow... since flashing this on day one of the release.. I've had to reboot due to lag cause by launcher pro, or something else, though I'm not certain because others have been commenting on how LP is lagging up now.

You must have a mutant droid. I have touchdown, k-9, fb, twidroid, etc etc etc all bg syncing and my battery life is about the same as prior BB releases with Chevy ULV. It'll last 7-8 hours with med to heavy use.

I just rooted 2 days ago. I'm seeing similar battery life as to prior to rooting.

Took mine off the charger at 3pm and am at 80% as of now. This is after a few calls, lots of texts, facebooking and surfing the internet. Heavy usage from 6-8pm as I have a boring class and need to entertain myself. Also, I have juice defender enabled, so that helps. I don't run all the widgets though, but I would think I would still get great battery life with them. I am confident I can get through a weekend without charging with light to normal use with my current setup.

I made a few battery posts like this when I loaded up my first BB rom months ago. Sadly there were accusations that I was exaggerating (or outright lying about) my battery life. I have consistantly been getting about a day and a half out of my battery at 1Ghz and tried a few times to make a full 48 hours (fell just a little short) when OC to 800. Perhaps I'm one of the few lucky ones, but I couldn't be happier with Pete's Roms and I've thanked him with my wallet.

can't get market to show all apps. Can anyone help or give link to market apk? Thanks

edit: Thanks all I eventually got it using the suggestions.

Use the market fix.. I'd link u to it but can't from tapatalk.. do a quick search and type in froyo market fix..
And just flash it the same way u would any other rom.. no need to wipe or backup.. that's the way I fixed mine..
Hope this helps

To the comment that stated Pete does not use donation money to build ROMs.

This is highly incorrect. In today's society, TIME is MONEY. You think these ROMs take 1 minute to conjure up using a magical program? Nope. Pete has to work everything out, and he is also a college student. He is making sacrifices for us that many of you would never even think about. So therefore, the money actually helps Pete make the ROMs. You could put it like this. Donation buys Pete food, shelter, etc, which in turn, helps Pete make the ROMs that we all enjoy.

Even if he makes a mashup, it takes time. And do you think that other devs haven't taken things from Pete as well? His ROMs have basically set the standard for a good functional ROM. And you never know, Pete might have added some things into Birdman's work. This is no place to start drama.

Anyways, we should all be grateful.
Thank you Pete!

I will be flashing this ROM tomorrow, still running v0.3, been working so well didn't even bother to update.

This rom sounds awesome but I just cannot get it to work for me. Too laggy/slow and then eventually locks up. =/

Did you try wiping cache + data before you installed it?

Also, I'm not too sure yet because I haven't installed it but ROMs sometimes need time to settle in. Your Droid might be currently restoring some settings, making it lag incredibly. Turn on your wifi and let it sit for about 15 minutes, it should get a lot better after everything is restored.

I haven't had this on but for a short while, but so far, so very good. I liked all the new upgrades in v.3, but it wasn't exactly bugless for me. More than a few random reboots, and didn't seem to handle everything well. But, so far, v.4 has had none of those issues. And I really love the new BBeast app and hotkeys.

i'm not saying it's a bad ROM, his coding is a little strange... however for most people it works. and i can't argue there.

it's just that he doesn't really create ROMs. He makes mashups.

I am a little strange, but I still work pretty well.
Everyone has a few bugs, just like we are all components of something else.

As for just mash ups - I seem to remember him doing the first scripts...
But I do agree that the Froyo "stability" label has gone down in quality.

This is a great ROM. No issues except for the stock messaging app. When I try to send a text to multiple recipients, I get an error saying some did not get my message. Anyone else?
I don't think it's a big deal though because this ROM is super fast and stable.

I am retrying 0.4 after my typical love hate relationship I have been having with BB lately.
Hopefully no battery issues caused by the ROM as I am kernel testing right now.

**EDIT**
Holy crap, I just got a 102 on my first Jake 1200 kernel short bench! Averaging 115 and 18.999 high Linpack, average low 18s.
WOW - let's see how battery is now, lol.

Dude... you wanna post your kernel and SetCPU profiles config? They must be god-like.
I'm running ChevyNo1's ULV 800MHz and I've seen about average battery performance so far. Although I'm not running SetCPU at all, just letting the ROM OC for me. And JuiceDefender was buggy for me yesterday, I just reinstalled and now it works fine, so we'll see what I get with that running.

I put BB0.4 on this morning, did all the restoration and updating, phone calls, trials and put it through its paces BIG TIME. Still at 60% battery. Amazing!

Okay...so looks like I'm not the only one...good to know, Thanks for sharing!

I'm not discounting what you are saying...but what I am experiencing is COMPLETELY different from every other ROM I have ever flashed.

You must have a mutant droid. I have touchdown, k-9, fb, twidroid, etc etc etc all bg syncing and my battery life is about the same as prior BB releases with Chevy ULV. It'll last 7-8 hours with med to heavy use.

Nah...it's not a mutant :p My phone has always been a solid performer but I can't run a 1.2GHz kernel without stability issues so it's not like I have a "rare" specimen here LOL.

I just rooted 2 days ago. I'm seeing similar battery life as to prior to rooting.

That makes sense...you are overclocked (which takes more battery) but you have underclocking as well (saves battery). You are seeing pretty much the norm in my experience.

I am retrying 0.4 after my typical love hate relationship I have been having with BB lately.
Hopefully no battery issues caused by the ROM as I am kernel testing right now.

Performance has been really good for me as well. 17.4 was my highest Linpack score (after running a handful of tests). Pretty good but that has been about average for me running at 1.1 GHz on various Froyo ROMs. SetCPU scores are similar as well...Battery just seems incredible.

I have always thought it was kind of silly when people talk about battery performance with different ROMs cause I have never seen a big discrepancy. Kernels maybe...but ROMs have always been consistent until now.

Dude... you wanna post your kernel and SetCPU profiles config? They must be god-like.

I'm running normal profiles...1100MHz - 250MHz, on-demand scaling, and when I'm not below 20% battery life, or plugged in (which it wasn't all day yesterday)...this is the only profile that is active. I'm not doing anything outside of the norm...

Running Chevy's 1.1ULV Kernel which I have used before and it has been about the same in terms of perfomance and battery life as P3Droid's 1.1 LV kernel.

I was on my phone almost constantly for about 45 minutes after my last post (where I was at 50% battery life). I then made a nandroid backup and when the phone rebooted, I was at 20% Incredible IMO!

And you can see...I'm loaded up with widgets :) Like I said, I'll keep an eye on it today and over the weekend and see how it works out...(showing 90% on my BatteryLife Widget and 100% on the notification bar...been off the charger for 4 hours and have used it very little so far today.

Apparently, my phone doesn't like v0.4 (weird behavior - and I did do a full wipe several times). I've reverted back to v0.3 which is working perfectly for me. I'm probably the first to say this, but v0.3 actually seems significantly snappier for me; and my Linpack/Quadrant scores are actually higher then what I got with v0.4 (same kernel, same settings). I realize that this could be because v0.4 was acting weird for me - I did stay on it for a couple of days though to give it an actual test.

Anyone else experienced faster benchmarks or snappier behavior with v0.3?

UBRocked: I'm impressed with your battery numbers. I'm running Chevy's 1k ULV kernel and I've been off the charger for 3h and 11 minutes and I'm down to 70%. I've gTalking pretty heavily this morning, so the screen is probably eating up some battery, but I'm getting nothing like that. Hoping there is just a little "break" in period before it all settles down. Just flashed .04 yesterday.
