Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

The CM7 repo is currently borked and will not build due to their attempts to add some lockscreen stuff. As a consequence I cannot build at present either. Fixing the camera problem may be a while until I can resync against a stable copy from Github on the CM7 base.

I can manually fix the camera but that's messy as hell, and thus probably shouldn't be done. If I get backed into a corner on this I'll explain how to do it, but for right now I'm waiting.

thats cool man... you do alot of great stuff for us. you deserve a break :D

My back camera doesn't work only if I try to use the default camera app. Apparently it works with my other camera apps like panorama and paper camera. Just thought I'd share if its at all of any help.

Hey Ticker/Isaac,

If we revert back to 9/20 will we need to revert back to the older version of CWM (cause of the file system changes)?

Not that I'm aware of at the present time. You need to be to mount that partition. Theoretically it could be done directly from CWM with a flashable ZIP but I haven't tried that and if you get it wrong you're rendered unbootable (that's recoverable on these phones, but it would be a ROYAL pain in the butt.)

on the 9/24 build the back camera isnt working. keeps force closing. when i did a restore of my 9/20
backup the camera works. reflashed 9/24 and same thing.. force closes.

same here my camera just keep force closing ever since i updated to 9/24 everything else is good except the carema.

If you would read the first 3 posts you would see that that is next on his agenda (after fixing the breakage of the back cam)
Wow, I honestly thought that FFC was "Fix Force Closures."
I had read them, I just apparently didn't know what FFC was.
Thanks for the help!

Loving this new build! Thanks for all the hard work Tickerguy & everyone else involved. Wifi tether is working great and I haven't had any issues yet except for the camera FC & HDMI not working which have already been mentioned. If theres any info I can get you while connected to the HDMI cable just let me know what I need to do.

Back cam breakage was a sync issue between Isaac's repo and mine; I fixed the manifest I'm pulling from and also found and fixed the CM7 issues that were preventing a build (locally; they need to fix it globally for everyone) but the first attempt resulted in a file that wouldn't flash.

I'm hoping that's a result of runts laying around from the CM7 screwup and not indicative of something more serious; I've cleared the build tree and am re-doing it but it takes an hour or so to complete. I've got the old tree stashed before I started the reconcile, but if I have to dump the work I did this weekend reconciling against the CM7 updates I'm going to be rather pissed.

For right now pick one - working cam or working bluetooth tether. If you really want both you can load the 9/20 code, pull /system/lib/libcamera.so and then load the new one and push that over the top of the file that's there on the later build, then reboot the phone. That should fix the camera. Just be aware that there's dragons in the code right now and I'm not convinced that's the only one, or that this will work for everyone - it did for me, but no promises beyond that.

Sorry for this very noob question, but how to bluetooth tether?

Pair the phone to your laptop's Bluetooth connection.

Go into the bluetooth connection screen, long press the laptop's name and shut off the phone and media connections if you don't want them (you probably don't as that will route voice calls and media to the PC's speakers if you leave them on!) You only have to do this once.

Now open the bluetooth stack on your PC. Select the phone. If you're on Windows 7 there will be a "Connect" button on the top that lights up. Select it, there will be a "Network" drop-down that appears. Select THAT and the computer will connect to the phone and initiate tethering - you'll see the blue "Tethering" icon appear on the phone's screen.

It'll take a few seconds to negotiate the connection and then should appear in your status bar as "clear" (no "warning triangle")

I don't know how you select it for other operating systems; what you're looking for is the "PAN" (personal area network) connection option. Assuming your OS' bluetooth stack supports it you should be good to go.

Oh I guess theres that too...lol Sorry if i came across snooty

I guess it could be either, but Front Facing Camera was what came to mind first for me... so yeah

Although I would think fixing "Force Closures" would just be FC if abreviated
