Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

I'm just waiting for FC and HDMI since I do use those 2 features
I have the ROM flashed, and I miss those features. But having Gingerbread and overclocking is great for high-end games such as NOVA 2 and Tegra 2 games. This ROM would be perfect with Front Cam and HDMI.

I've been watching this from it's inception, and I've finally decided to go ahead and do it -- now that GPS has been fixed -- and I absolutely love it so far. I really missed the black background in the SMS app by default, hold back button to close app, battery percent, the quick buttons in the notification menu (No more Quick Settings)..

So much love. Is there a way to donate both to you and isaac, tickerguy?

What? All those features are still there, except. Maybe the black SMS but the others haven't gone anywhere.

I don't know if its my connection or if its the file, but the latest patch wont download, the page loads fine but when I click on the download button nothing happens.

Edit: Nevermind I got it

Was planning on waiting until the front camera was functional, but with all of the good reports I might go ahead and load this. Thanks for the hard work guys!

latest build seems to bootloop, but the sep. 20th release worked fine. anyone else?
you need to update to the new CWM version which is blue and should be 5.0.2.3. it's the one posted in the second post on page one that says this is the cwm i am using. if you use older versions which are only setup to handle ext3 then you will get a bootloop because these builds have been switched to ext4.....

I'm unable to download apps from the market on 3G with the latest 9/25 build. Can anyone confirm that with the latest build they can? As soon as I bring up wifi all the apps that hung on "downloading..." begin downloading then install.

Note: I only formatted /system and flashed over the 9/24 build, which I did the same over the 9/20 build, so this could entirely be the fault of not factory resetting.

Edit: ok... now an app starts downloading. Just before writing the post I tried my 3rd app since flashing the new build and it stalled when I had good reception, then just now I was able to download photo tools. Google streetview is still stuck though.

can this rom be overclock?
yes but the kernel is isaac's not tg's and it disables MSS Clamping since that is kernel specific there's another post to it here:

you don't need an app per say because cm7 allows changing cpu settings in it's menu, but personally i use setcpu because it works great and allows for setting up of profiles...

the only thing with cm7's general settings is that you need to go into all those menus to change settings, and also like i said you can't do profiles with it and that means your cpu is always OC'd if you actually OC it..... with setcpu my screen off profile isn't OC'd at all it's set to standard 1ghz max and 245 min, amongst a few other profiles such as battery under 40% and temp. above 122 degrees are also set to non OCing variables.

quick question on this. so i downloaded chainfire 3d and i tried to play monster madness for fun to see if i could get a tegra 2 game to play on here, but it just force closes.... i know i saw a post about someone who had gotten chainfire 3d up and running on this build and they said that tegra 2 games played great, but i can't seem to get it to work.... if anyone could help with this as i would love to play some high end games.... like what settings were used to get it to work, and did they need the pro version, etc..... thanks

edit: nevermind figured it out.

Thanks for all of your hard work Isaac and Ticker.

The battery performance on stock was atrocious for me, and I was hopeful the CM7 mod would help with that. That indeed seems to be the case. By 10:30am my phone would usually be at 65% battery on stock, but in CM7 I'm at 96%. Cell standby is still the largest consumer of battery life in CM7 but instead of burning the battery to the ground it's much more reasonable.

Looking forward to future releases!

Has anyone else noticed that with this rom, they are unable to call numbers formatted in standard international format (with a plus sign, e.g. "+15551234567"). This is a pretty standard format, and on the stock rom I have no trouble calling these numbers. But with all versions of tickerguy's CM7, I am unable to call these numbers with the stock dialer - I just get dead air.

I'm not sure if these is a CM7 issue in general, or is something specific to tickerguy's version, but I've had this issue with every build so far.

I have a question about cwm recovery, TG. In your second post you say that you need to use 4.0.1.5 for ext4 support. What will happen if you are using 4.0.1.4? Will it still flash? I'm using 4.0.1.4 and everything flashed fine. System is running great. Will it just not use ext4 or....?

is it micro or mini?

There are 3 sizes.
The standard, which you find on your media devices.
The mini, which is fairly standard output on video cards.
The micro, found on phones and other smaller devices.

For phone hdmi output you want micro on one end and standard on the other.

How's the call quality after root? Has anyone seen better signal or worse?
Same for battery life, with my old droid incredible i saw a huge improvement in battery life after CM7, same on the triumph?

Also a general question, this phone is buggy as all hell as I'm concerned. Say for example motorola pushes out an update. How does that work with root and roms, do you flash back to stock and install it? or are you just SOL? I've rooted and run CM7 before, I just never thought about how that works.

Flashing to CM7 tonight hopefully!

I may be wrong, and someone please correct me if I am. But to my understanding it would be Virgin Mobile that pushes an update and that would be to the stock OS to fix a bug or what not. In the unlikely event that Motorola does a firmware update, you would be able to find such an update online somewhere to apply manually. In which case it would not matter what your OS is at the time, it would be alot like changing the recovery software over to the CWM.

As far as call quality I would not know, i do not do much in the way of voice, if I could get a plan that was pure txt/data i would take it. I use maybe 50 min of talk time every 3months or so (Holidays & Birthdays)

Data speed does seem to be faster to me, but like everything else it comes and goes at times.

Latenite, if it flashed ok then it obviously works ;-)

If your version worked with this update it will work on a forward basis.
