Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

So I'm about to try the newest build but can't find the definitive instructions and file for the CWM. Is there a step by step for this as I don't want to screw anything up.

Also, for anyone running CM7, does Google Voice report the REAL phone number you are dialing or does it still only show the GV converted number in the call log?

Thanks everyone for your help and to tickerguy and isaac... mad props to both of you!

I don't know if I'm The only one experiencing this but with your newest build if my screen shuts off for any reason it locks down and the battery must be pulled. I found your previous release was much more stable about that

that was that "wont wake up from sleep problem" he was talking about

any word on rom manager have the triumph placed on the list. i have not heard a peep in a few days. i would like the idea of just update the rom through rom manager hopefully soon.

I know Ziggy all I'm saying is that it seems less stable now. I have that issue every time my screen turns off no matter which way it happens vs the last build would only lock up if it shutoff on its own

I would like to report that while listening to music with headphones, the sound will occasionally hang. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem. I am on the newest CM7 build and was using google music.

New member here on AF.com but a long time member of other phone forums.

Just wanted to say thank you to the devs as this is a HUGE improvement from the out of the box software. i was very disappointed with my triumph as i had been a long time droid user. the cm7 rom has totally changed my thoughts of returning the triumph.

ive been using this rom on my daily use phone and im am very happy. aside from the listed issues, this is great!

i do have one issue though... it seems to randomly drop data connection... are others having this issue? i am using last nights version. im downloading today's version to see if this fixes it. i will post back tomorrow on the status :)

Think I found a new bug. Email crashes when I add my Microsoft exchange account for work. Great work so far :-)

seems like the 3g connection is unstable. i close screen and left it alone for a moment. then open screen, 3g icon is still there but actually the internet connection is already dead......not sure if others experience the same issue...

I posted this yesterday, and so did a few others. Ticker thinks it actually may be a virgin (sprint) issue. I honestly don't know, I just enable/disable airplane mode and it comes back.

Oops.. sorry... didn't see that post.

I did notice that everytime it happens, the green icons on the status bar turn white (3g icon and signal bars). Kinda strange...

If you're having odd problems please format /system and then load the update before reporting it. If there are old pieces laying about you can run into some odd problems. I don't have that in the update script in no small part because I'm not sure how to automate getting it in there in the CM7 build process.

It's also POSSIBLE you have something in /data that's doing it. Wiping data is a pain in the ass but there's no guarantee of /data compatibility across versions. I've not had trouble with that as of this point, but that is rather dependent on your application mix and mine will be different than yours.

I've had zero lockup problems so long as Wifi isn't turned on when the phone sleeps. If it is, however, it quite-reliably locks up, thus the note in the top posts. I'm looking for the cause of this and have some ideas.

This should be what you are looking for CWM wise: Installing ClockWorkMod (CWM) Recovery on the Motorola Triumph by Virgin Mobile - YouTube

Also, regarding the dropped 3G, this still happens to me even after a full wipe/reset prior to installing. I just always turn on Airplane Mode, then turn it back off and that usually fixes it. I had these same issues prior to CM7, FYI.

Thanks for the work on this! Works as expected per the disclaimer. Also wanted to note the camera device periodically disconnects after some picture sessions. Not easy to reproduce. Keep up the awesome development!

After a fresh install, when at work where I do not get any reception -- the phone will not wake up and load the homepage with apps. It loads the CyanoMod Background and then just hangs. Must be something that happens when no WiFi or signal is obtained...

EDIT: This is also after removing battery and trying to restart phone.

EDIT #2: I just went to a spot in my building where there is reception and the phone booted-up properly. I then shut-off WiFi, went back into my office where I have no reception....and the phone will not fully-boot up. It starts loading the CM background and then just goes back to sleep (black screen).

One more bug that I thought that I should mention, which I haven't heard being mentioned yet:

Using the MotoSpeak app, my phone is no longer recognized by the app as a Motorola phone -- so the app will not turn on so that I can use my bluetooth headset.

Since I have no clue about CM and what changes that it makes to the ROM, does anyone know why the phone isn't being recognized as a Motorola phone and would this be something that is fixable?

you are truly right, after formatting /system /data /cache 3g issue is gone :)

one more thing i noticed - the startup setup wizard automatically installs all app associated with my google account, so no need to reinstall manually, cool!

titanium backup is a very useful software it backsup all data apps and user files too. and you can choose from over 30+ batch process to run. and you can run a schedule.

HDMI was untested; not surprising it doesn't work. Added to the "not working" list; I do not have the correct interface cable and working on it will require both that and having my dev system and the monitor close enough to plug everything in at once. Not sure when or if that will happen.

Thanks for the great work... any news on the HDMI? I'm totally pumped for CM7, but it's no use to me if I can't make use of the HDMI out!

thanks guys. i will give that a try. i did the format system but didnt
wipe when i did the update. i will try tonight and see what happens.
As always, thanks for the help :)
