Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

Went back to 2.2. I apparently missed a bunch of txts from people cause I have a ton now. The radio must still be a little buggy.

Just so ya know there was a system wide issue with texting and data the last few days. Samething happened to me and Im stock. I have never loaded cm7.

I'm also having the 3g issue it happens after I leave my phone locked for a while.

i am still having the same issue here as well.
i have cleared /system, data, and cache; reloded
rom. ive done all this several times now. i think ive
said this before, but its really strange because when
it happens, the green 3g icon turns white. i have to
turn airplane mode on then off to fix.

when i go back to stock, i have no issues with this. seems
like it happens when the screen is locked for more than
10 minutes.

Well as soon I booted back into stock I got a bunch of texts and some voice mails so I don't know

For the life of me, I don't understand why I can't connect to my WiFi. It is a closed network with a WPA2 Password. It works, but it won't connect to my network (there are a slew of others in the neighborhood that I can connect too. I have always been able to connect to it (on Stock) but now I can't. Other than that it works as advertised. Nice work!

Let me know if I have made an error on my end or if there is actually something wrong with CM7.
It might change IP addresses, and be the same as another node on your network....if still not able to connect, try going to your GUI on your router, check the ip address and if so, change whichever one it is the same as in cmd prompt...

Hummm. I tried it the other way mentioned above by Ebnight by going into "settings", "CyanogenMod settings", "Lockscreen", then check "Disable lockscreen on Security". Then click on "Lockscreen settings" and checked "Menu unlock" and also "Disable unlock Slider". I also checked "Screen On animation" under "CyanogenMod', "Display Settings", "Screen-on Animation".

It's been sitting here on my desk for a few hours now, and when I think of it I pick it up, hit the power button, then the menu key, and it works every time.

I haven't tried the 3g yet, but I will soon when I head out in a bit.

One thing I did do is I never loaded the first version of this ROM. I nandroid backed-up my factory, rooted, oddball kernel version. Then i did a did a factory reset under cwm 4 and wiped /system for good measure. I loaded the current version on it and it booted right up. Got into market, downloaded Clockwork mod app, did a fix permissions and rebooted. I did not back up my settings with Google.

Still no problems, just checked just now. For an alpha ROM, this is amazing. I can live with the broken stuff for now. I'm pretty happy with it.

I hope this helps you some.

Hmm, still not working, even following that almost precisely. On battery it consistently locks up after a short time (usually less than a minute), but not when plugged in. Are you plugged in or on battery?

It's a great Alpha ROM nonetheless, much better than what I hoped for this early, and I'll just wait to use wifi full time until later.

Both plugged in for 3 hours and unplugged for 1 hour, either way, still no problems. Starts right up. Had it on 3g for an hour and no problems there either. Back on WiFi now, still OK. I'm sure Ticker and Isaac will figure it out soon.. Maybe I have one of the oddball phones..

I may have found a issue. WiFi will not connect to a closed network. It did on Stock, but it will not on CM7.

I tested this several times. If I tell my router to be an "open" network, it connects just fine.

I have found that even the stock ROM sometimes will not connect to a closed network. my home for example I had to open it up, and lock it down with MAC addresses, however, it will connect fine at work, and it is locked.

This.

i have a question... ive never used any version of cyanogenmod before, and i wanted to know why they always use adw launcher? it looks like gingerbread so why doesnt it have the stock gb launcher? im just curious, i didnt know if it was a "trademark" cyanogenmod thing or what. lol :D also, in the finished version of this, will it have a overclockable kernel?

same here, already back to stock......

im using it everyday and im not complaining in fact it works rather well for me(theres a few features missing but i know it will be fixed). the way i would thank is pretty much kissing your feet for everything you have done. again i thank you guys.

Alot of complaint for something tickerguy for some he dose not even sopost to try untilled he thinks every every things working so give the Guy a break if u don't like what he's down don't use cm7 and stick to ur stock Tom or make ur own

As we test this rom, we will come across issues. The whole
point of us testing is so we can notify the Dev of the issues so he can fix them
And work towards a stable release. Everyone knows its not yet ready for
Daily use. That's why we are expressing our issues, so they can be fixed.
Different people experience different problems, the only way they get them
Resolved is through communication with the dev.

Personally, I am very excited with this rom as I know the finished product
Will be absolutely amazing. Thanks tickerguy!

Wait, ADW is built into CM7? I thought the whole point of CM7 was that nothing was built in except what was needed to make the phone work?

A launcher is quite essential to a phone working they simply choose adw instead of the bone stock gingerbread Android ziggy was just asking why for the sake of being informed. Great question ziggy

I think all of you are wearing his nerves thin... how about letting him work (for free mind you) and wait until you see an update post from him, just a thought.

I don't think that's anyone's goal here. I believe Hardcore Icon said it perfectly, I have no issues reporting bugs in order to improve this development. What frustrates me a little is when we (multiple users) have a specific issue (data disconnect in this case), we report it, then get brushed off by the developer(s) stating "we (the users) did something wrong." I see this quite a bit in android development and it's annoying. Yes there are going to be a few idiots who don't know how to read/follow directions, however, the majority of us follow them perfectly fine and do nothing wrong when installing/upgrading. We have genuine issues we are reporting, and honestly just want to do our part in improving the software.

I really don't think Tickerguy, has really blown anybody off, from all of his post I have read, he has been very helpful, and informative. In addition, he does have a life like the majority of us, and all of this exceptionally hard work he has put in has put in, has all been on his own free time. I have seen other devs acting arrogant, but the majority of problems I see, are with users that are way too harsh on the developers. On the nook forums at XDA, a dev just left the nook, because he was being harassed for a rom that he released. Be happy with what you have got, and I'm sorry to say but the majority of us are just beggars when it comes to android software, and beggars cant be choosers.

To the moderator, sorry for posting this in the Dev section. Cheers.

maybe you guys should read the first post.
Ditto... not tryin to rag on anyone..i just want Tickerguy able to concentrate on what he does/doing BUILDING US A FREE ROM! and please remember hes doing this ON HIS OWN FREE TIME!
let the man work,im sure he will post updates and ask for a test or two, just be patient and chill out with the nit pickin... im sure he knows what he's doing.

Tgenius, I have no access to an exchange server, and thus no way to test it. While I could probably find someone with one that would let me connect to theirs I doubt I'll be putting much time into this until much later in the cycle, if ever.

Right now my focus is on the GPS; there have been a number of areas of progress but nothing major in the last few days; the biggest change is that the auto backlight parameters are now user-editable under CM7's setitngs screens and thus you can change how you want it to behave (e.g. if you want the buttons on or off for given ambient light levels, etc)

I will probably not push a new version up until I have either GPS or MMS working, although that might change. When something of significance is fixed it'll get uploaded.

I've had no problems with 1x or 3g data at all other than an occasional drop that the base ROM does too, and which appears to be a Sprint thing. If you go into and then back out of airplane mode it clears.

I am running CM7 basically all the time excepting when I need the GPS service and send and receive a LOT of SMS messages. MMS, as noted, is broken though at present.

Glad to hear it! Can't wait to see GPS! (Never worked on Stock anyway.)
