Root [ROM] CM7 Nightlies EVO Community

have you tried this: xda-developers - View Single Post - [INFO/FAQ] Unofficial Cyanogen Mod 7 Nightly (4/29 - 7.0.2.1 == crunchy goodness) as for your camera issue, i have not played around with lg camera app so i'm not sure how to fix it. have you tried wiping? after that not sure sorry.

Do you think this can work with just typing in the code in the phone without doing a back up or using rom manager I herd its not the best at all and messes with your recovery.

Thanks for the link

Right in system/media
Thats where the original mp3 file has been this whole time for the boot animation that came with the phone. I was just saying that it hasnt been working which doesnt make sense. My question was did anybody who downloaded this rom notice the same.

I going to try and load my custom boot animation and the mp3 file to see if it works.

You need to do the fix to get it to work with the boot.sh and terminal emulator to get it to play. Check the boot animation thread it was posted within the last day or so

Is this just if your going to use the terminal emulator. I dont use it to trasfer the files. I just use an app FTP app called SwiFTP. I read the whole thread last week when I started wanting to make my own boot animations and just pulled it up now but didnt really see anything about the specifics with using CM7 and boot animations.

No it's not for using terminal thats just what you use to do the fix...

Well I just finished rebooting and the animantion played fine its the sound thats not working now. I also just found why the desc numbers werent working. You have to have them in proper format.
heres the link to Xda where they explain exact formats in Notepad ++ that I just confirmed work. Before any number I would put in it just would not change anything this was why.

And whats halarious on my sense rom the sound was working but I was having this problem with the animation. Now I have the animation properly working and now the sound is whats not functioning. Any ideas on why. Is it that CM7 Rom cant play sound animations which I dont think is the case why would the creator put in a sound mp3 for the animation if thats the case.

i would recommend that you follow the instructions:
1.download msl reader from the market
2.launch and write down your msl number
3.make a nandroid and flash or restore a sense rom
4.in dialer pad type ##GPSCLRX#
5.enter your msl number
6.reboot and restore cm7

and yeah do not use rom manager for this. do everything manually.

I just didnt want to be rom switching since I would have to now go back to 2.6.0.1 CW to bring back my sense rom. Save a my new rom before I do that and than go back.

just flash something some sense rom instead of all that. here use fresh 3.5http://link.geekfor.me/freshevo3501mirror1 enter do the fix then restore nandroid. that way you do not have to switch recoveries.

Thats a much better Idea thanks. Now just to make sure I have never done a nandroid restor yet.

The second I save it will save everything right settings and every thing I have done to this point before saving.

yep, a nandroid backup is a snapshot of the current state of your phone. so all of your contacts and settings will all be saved. just remember anytime you make changes to your phone to always make a nandroid backup, just in case something goes wrong. nandroids are your friends.

Yeah exact image of you're phone right now...

I will fix the Gps tommorow. Right now Iam still trying to figure out why the directions and renaming of the android_audio.mp3 and its not working. I also made sure I wasnt renaming the file .mp3.mp3. still nothing.

did you d/l the bootsnd.sh file and do the terminal commands to enable boot audio? and if you did, did you restore between then and now? if so, the fix you implimented went away with the restoral of the old data...

Yeah thanks I got it done now how to adjust the volume of the sound because its all most at full volume. And I know on the sense rom what controlled the level was the ringer volume it would be matched to that setting. If you wanted to change it and lower it you just would lower your ringer volume. But I tried that and that didnt work. I also thought maybe in the alarm settings would be the one controlling it but that isnt working either. There has to be a way to adjust that volume.

try cranking down your system volume, that should do it...an app like audio manager (free) can handle that

Nice ok and Iam guessing you have to do through the app there no way to get system audio without the app

not that i have ever seen. Certain apps you run will turn it up and down without you knowing but i dont know of any other way to change it. Like google nav cranks it all the way up...if you like to set it and have it not change you will need an app like volume locker and whenever an app or you for that matters tries to adjust the volumes it asks you to approve...

nope... whatcha need to do is d/l audacity, open the audio file in a new session, reduce the gain, export the file to whatever.wav, convert it to mp3, rename it, and put it in the correct spot on the system

that is provided that we are still talking about the bootanimation audio
