Root [ROM] CM7 TG-Reloaded (Final: 03-25)

I like to add that this ROM crashes phone on Bouncy Mouse Free game. Every other game works fine.

Yeah I talked to several people in the area with Boost and Sprint and they were having the same issue. It was the tower that was the problem and just seriously bad luck that I decided to flash the new update that morning. Lol.

It's okay though. I kinda did need to wipe data anyway, I hadn't done so since Tickerguy's 6th beta. My phone is running better than when it was brand new now.

Just want to say that within 5 min. of getting my Triumph 2 weeks ago I've been on your rom and it kills!! Thanx for the continued Gingerbread love, especially seeing as most devs seemed to have moved on to ICS.

Same experience here. After updating to the latest build every game works great except one. Asphalt 6 crashing every time I try and play it now.

Edit: Also, my entire phone crashes not just the app. The phone automatically reboots after a sound crackle followed by the screen going black.

When playing Sleepy Jack at some parts of the game the screen flickers and gets pixelated and I can hardly see. When I also play games on GBCoid the sound crackles and lags.

Back to back dumb question time,

1, I cannot remember for the life of me where the settings I have used 100 times in the past are for dimming or turning of the button lighting.

2, Started getting random reboots a few weeks ago that I at first contributed to build.prop line testing or under vaulting but after it started happening in CWM why either backing up or restoring I was able to do a few tests and it looks like my SD card may be at fault. Just for the heck of it decided to run the erase SD card option in the storage setting but just says checking SD card and that’s about it. For some reason I am remembering a discussion from back around the end of the summer about issues with formatting the SD card in CWM. Am I remembering correctly or was this another device and I’m just confused? Was an expensive 32g card so figured I may as well give it a try before purchasing another.

Try a clean factory wipe & install.

Another solid build! Thanks, threw a few more bucks your direction (I keep pointing this out to try to encourage other people to do the same :-p )

Thanks for your first donation, I didn't see anything new come through paypal today. Did see Overbyter's donation though (thanks btw).

Same response as above, try factory wipe & clean install of the ROM, otherwise it could be some cache or setting build-up from other apps that's causing problems.

Just turned on USB storage for the first time in a long time as I have been either using ADB or Dropbox and I think my SD card suspicion was confirmed by a pop-up on my computer that told me the card may have issues most likely caused by disconnecting the phone before doing the remove safely thing. Suggested I let windows scan the disk and repair file system errors and bad sectors. I let Windows do its thing then did a major cleanup deleting like 90% of the files on the card and now everything seems ok, about to do a Nandroid and see if I get a reboot when going to write to the SD card.

BTW are these sound crackles new to this build and didn't exist in 03-01 & before?

I did not ever install 3-01 but I never had a problem with any of the builds previous to that one. I just finished a factory reset and the problem has not been resolved. I have tried to play Asphalt 6 and a few other games multiple times now and I have noticed a pattern. The phone usually reboots when it is about to start a graphically intensive process. I don't have any other games as graphically intensive as Asphalt 6, but I have noticed that one other game (Robo Surf which is free on the market) will sometimes (1 in 10 times) have the same problem. The phone will reboot when I click start game. On Asphalt the phone reboots right before a race can begin. There was one instance when I got Asphalt to actually start a race (I've tried many many times) and the frame rate for the game was terrible. Btw, nenamark 2 is running flawlessly on my phone, 24fps.

hey whyzor! you wanna know a weird bug with 3-01? :p

when your on your lockscreen and you are using the sliders (like vanilla android)

slide right above the unlock slider and it will take you to the dialer!

this is without and other options enabled, its like theres another slider there but theres not!

New build uploaded, updated graphics driver, up to 2x the framerate (let me know if you notice any game improvements other than just nenamark2 benchmark).

I'm like a little kid in a candy store waiting for a new ROM. Each one is better than the last. Thanks Whyzor!

I did some testing with AnTuTu Benchmarking which benchmarks 2D, 3D graphics and other apects of performance. The 3/4 build is over 15% faster in 3D (865 vs 734) with no loss of 2D. However the RAM speed did slow from about 363 to 295. The base benchmark is an average of the last 4 builds - and these builds showed little variance in ROM or 3D speeds until the 3/4 ROM.

I did this again with wiped clean ROM and cleared cache with just only Bouncy Mouse Free that I downloaded with Clock speeds set at 61-1024hz. It does exactly the same result. It would start game and then I'll crash in about 2-3 seconds. Thanks for the ongoing effort, I'll keep the fresh for a few hours.

EDIT: Default Clock Speed works but I am not satisfied to go down back to stock speeds
EDIT2: The game(s) crashes my phone most the time when launched, only a small chance i'll keep playing.

I can confirm that BouncyMouse is not working properly on the 3/4 build. I never tested it on a previous build but I experienced the same system reboot error as I have been experiencing with Asphalt 6.

I noticed that too, it's a CM7 lockscreen bug.

Yes I noticed it too, It may be due to the other low-level changes in CM7. Hopefully someone who knows more about that area will submit a fix in the future. Or it could be possible that it's fixing a bug where the system does reading & writing to memory out-of-order and not preserving data integrity and it gets a higher benchmark score, but it corrupts data in small ways that's not noticeable until something like a Force Close or reboot eventually comes up.

whats the best way to calibrate battery after flashing this, i cant get it to charge past 87%

I would just keep it plugged in & start terminal emulator or adb shell and type 'su', then 'cat /proc/kmsg' and see when the current that's reported gets close to 0. That way the battery is truely full and the meter should be calibrated.

For all the game problems. The CM7 ROM has never been able to run all the games that the stock ROM could (either a Froyo vs Gingerbread thing, or a buggy game app), and I'm not going to dig into that to try to fix it. I can only try to figure out if any of MY recent builds have broken things.

It is not true, played many games on the CM7 ROM including emulators and each and every one of them ran fine. At least for Bouncy Mouse Free, the version requirement is 2+ (link) and I never had a phone crash prior to update. I will try to replicate this again on the 3-01 Build with WhyKernel 2-29 and give you more results. At the moment I am not gonna be able to try anything until Thursday.

This is the reason why I got a Triumph so I do not have lag when playing mobile games as well as having a large internal memory. If I have to revert the update to keep the overclock settings and have stability I will. For now, I will have to continue reporting more bugs as I play around with your current build. Keep up the good work.

TL;DR version:
I will not settle for less. I rather have a stable build.

Whether these problems existed in the 03-01 build is important info. I still haven't heard anyone say games run smoother with the new build, or maybe people are just more interested in posting when things don't work as expected. If there are more problems with the new build than positive reports I may revert to the old drivers at some point in the future. They only seem to show enhancements in benchmarks, so the drivers may have something specifically to increase benchmark scores instead of real games.

BTW, my statement "Not all games run on stock ROM runs on CM7" IS TRUE, unless you've tested & ran ALL games on both ROMs. Others have reported ever since CM7 ROMs have been around for the MT that some games have problems while they run fine on stock.

Just an Update: Radiant HD crashes my phone.

I also tried Where's my Water, Hot Donut, Muffin Knight, Fruit Ninja, Puffle Launch, and Pinball Ride. These games are okay but I do not see a smooth gameplay. All running under 245-1024hz (Stock) frequencies.
I would just play games on my ps3 jk jk
New gen is fine but I love the classics most.

EDIT: I like the capacitive button delay of 250ms, this I like :)

I've had Fruit Ninja for a while, it was choppy about a month ago, but the last few builds have been very smooth for me, so there's probably something wrong with either your phone or setup. I run 61-1024 interactive, very little background processes or apps.

I meant to say okay as in I did not see good amount smoothness, its not like it increased to double FPS, it has been minimal to say at least. Responsiveness is great and has improved. Graphic wise isn't much to celebrate just yet.

Results vary by device. I am only trying them on stock frequencies to benchmark each game I come across. Normally I'll use the 61-1402hz interactive governor with a few background apps running as well.

I never had the 3/1 update installed on my phone. I came from 2/18 and updated to 3/4. On the 2/18 build every game I ever tried to play worked and my phone never rebooted when I tried to play a game. An occasional force close might have occurred on the previous build but that's not what is happening now. On the newest version when I try and play some select games the screen will go black and the phone will reboot itself. I have to believe that it is due to the new GPU drivers. If it would help you Whyzor I would be happy to revert to version 3/1 and see if the same problems exist. Just let me know. Also, the games that do play seem to be running smoothly in my experiences so far. I can't really tell if its any better than before though because the games were also running really well before this update.
Thanks for the continued development Whyzor! You really do make this phone 100x better.
