Root [ROM] CM7 TG-Reloaded (Final: 03-25)

I used the 3-4 build of CM7 and the graphics performance is AMAZING! However I still want to use MIUI but I want the increased performance from the new drivers. Can someone build a flashable zip for Clockwork Recovery Mod with the new Adreno drivers?

I think you could just snag the boot.img from the .zip and drag it over to your phone. Although, there may be deeper incopatabilities. I'd just try and see.

Games that run no problem:
Plants vs. Zombies
Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots
Angry Birds Rio
Cut the Rope
Doodle Jump
Edge
Jelly Defense
Missile Defender
Monopoly
Osmos HD - didn't load on first try, but did later
Router
Spirit
Tetris
Toki Tori
World of Goo

and I can add
tank hero
PewPew
Snes9x Emulator (with the games I have)
X Construct
and a host of games that don't use 3D

The new drivers require the binary blobs I mentioned a few posts above, plus source files to be compiled with a new kernel:

Hmm it appears the games tend to fix themselves after a few runs..the crackling, blackout in games went away and now seem to run a whole lot smoother. I noticed a big difference in GTA3, so I do believe the updated drivers has improved the phone, unless it was the boost in Framerates

The one game in my collection that has a problem with the new GPU drivers is Everlands HD. It worked fine previously but now makes my Triumph reboot, as someone else said theirs now does with Radiant Lite.

Interestingly, the normal version of Everlands (non-HD) works just fine, it's only the HD version that causes these reboots.

Just wanted to mention this as an FYI.

I just rolled back to the 3/1 build because Bloons TD4 reliably reboots the phone on the 3/4 build as soon as I try to add a tower.

Based on the appearance, I think that adding a tower is trying to draw a partially transparent sprite, or trying to draw 2 sprites, one of which is transparent (no way of knowing what it's doing under the hood, just a guess).

If there's any further debugging I can do, I would be more than happy to.

Maybe the reboots are caused from the framerate being too high? Kinda like when overclocking too much..not really sure though as I have no programming experience

Right now I'm not sure if the 2 new audio blobs have made things better or worse, they were included in the 03-04 build, for those who want to try to help determine whether they make a difference can try the steps I wrote in this previous post, so far I can't tell since everything that I have on my phone runs fine. Remember, ideally one should make a nandroid backup, and wipe cache & dalvik-cache, in fairly clean environment (not a lot of apps or background services installed or running) since they can interfere with things.

Latest ROM is very stable for me. Once ROM installed...I uninstalled rOMManager and a bunch of other apps that arent required and also installed stock GB launcher. No error messages, fps gaming smooth, wireless flawless, and excellent battery life.

I don't know why anyone confirmed Plants vs. Zombies. Still not working on mine.

Maybe it's not the ROM. Hm...

I noticed that a lot of my games were having issues too, which includes plants vs zombies, so I backed up my game data and uninstalled then reinstalled the game and now it works fine.

Shut my phone off a bit ago and have tried to turn it on and it keeps rebooting. Have already cleared the cache etc. and reflashed the rom but can't seem to get it to not reboot. Is it possible I got a bad download of the rom? It had been working fine until I turned the phone off.

It's possible, to check, open terminal emulator or adb shell and type this in:

cd /sdcard/<path_to_rom_zip>
md5sum <rom_zip_filename>

Make sure it matches the one in post #1. If it does match, you may have to do a factory reset, and see if it's stable WITHOUT any apps restore or reinstalled first, and if it is then reinstall them individually. If it's still rebooting even with a clean install then it's likely a hardware problem with your phone.

Has anyone tried the Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen on this ROM yet? It should work but I haven't tried it myself. It can provide a really customized look. Let me know if it works and I'll include the link in the 1st post. Make a NANDroid backup in recovery first!

I have been lurking this forum for awhile and using this great rom with every update.

However, I think there are still issues with using Wifi/Bluetooth together. Is anyone using wifi while connected and playing to a A2DP (media) audio device?

Currently on a fresh build factory/data reset. Turning on bluetooth while connected to wifi occasionally disconnects and resets the wifi radio. However, when both do connect together, playing a song via the a2dp device immediately causes the data connection to stop working (browser to pause, etc.). After simply pausing the music, the data over wifi begins working again. This is a glitch I can consistently replicate.

Is anyone having similar issues? This is a big part of how I use my phone.

Thanks for your help and all of your great work Whyzor.

I just flashed this latest version of CM7. One thing I noticed was that when I hang up from talking on the phone, the screen does not come back on, I have to hit the power button for the screen to come on. Is this a issue with the proximity on the phone? Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?? Its not really important, but enough to bother me when I hang up the phone. Thanks for your feedback.

Wow! The things one learns. This OUT Kitchen has most everything in the way of themeing. I successfully flashed a UOT Theme over the 3/4 ROM.

I know with the Tickerguy versions of CM7 there was some other little hack you had to do for the transparent status bar. I believe Melissapugs is the one who figured it out and shared it with me. Alas, I can't remember what it is, but I would assume it is the same issue with this version on CM7.

Try changing the wifi router's channel to see if maybe the frequencies are having conflicts. I tested it using a bluetooth headset for a phoen call and was able to browse the web fine.

UPDATE: It worked for a bit last night, but today it keeps disconnecting for me too. Not sure what's wrong, but I added it to known issues in post #1 again.

Yeah it happens if the other side disconnects first, not sure what's causing it, just make sure to pull phone away when about to disconnect call. or try checking the 'always use proximity' in the call settings.
