Root [ROM] CM7 TG-Reloaded (Final: 03-25)

How about a game you're having problems that I don't have to pay in order to test, or takes too much time to download, then I can see if it's a phone specific problem or not. Better yet, a game that HAS WORKED in a previous CM7 build but doesn't anymore.
 
Testing the update and can confirm crackling noises in Block Breaker 3 Unlimited HD. Also Where's my water? seems a bit slower than before. Asphalt 6 HD crashes upon boot. These 3 games ran fine before this update. Will test others...


&sorry Whyzor I'm just trying to confirm the problems other people are having since I have most of those games
 
For the audio issues, some of you can try to grab the /system/lib/liba2dp.so and /system/lib/libaudioalsa.so from a previous ROM .zip (using 7zip or winzip) and then install it into your current 03-04 phone. Make a Nandroid backup first in case something goes wrong, then in terminal emulator or adb shell:

cp /sdcard/libaudioalsa.so /system/lib/
cp /sdcard/liba2dp.so /system/lib/
chmod 644 /system/lib/libaudioalsa.so
chmod 644 /system/lib/liba2dp.so
reboot
Assuming you've copied the 2 files from a previous ROM into /sdcard dir. See if the crackling is gone after the reboot.

And for extra credit, those who are having game problems can also try copying the previous GPU binary files from a previous ROM using the same procedure as above. The files are:

/system/lib/libgsl.so
/system/lib/egl/libEGL_adreno200.so
/system/lib/egl/libGLESv1_CM_adreno200.so
/system/lib/egl/libGLESv2_adreno200.so
/system/lib/libq3dtools_adreno200.so
 
I m using new GPU driver's for a long time know on my CSL-MI410. this have improved my gaming experience a lot. i have played lot's of game's with new GPU driver, like :- Modern combat 3, ShadowGun, Asphalt 6, Reckless Racing 2 & Many other's they are lot smoother with new GPU driver's & they are lot chopper with older driver. idk why this problem is coming with your device although they are basically the same device...!!

Mines a July 2011 Phone. I have no idea, Clean or Flashed over, same result.

Aspault 6 works for me but I mean like a few games that used to work with Whyzor's older ROMS. Radiant HD was a very cool game but it's unplayable on this recent build or last. I upgraded from build 02-02 with WhyKernel 02-08.

I have tried that, placed the Build 3-01 files and "replaced" them with the exact permissions as shown in the screenshot:

The result is exactly the same. I'll try reflashing with a clean build from 3-01 with the WhyKernel 2-29 to see if it starts there. I won't have time until Thursday.
 
I'm still on the 02-02 build and the game "Bouncy Mouse Free" plays smooth as ever on my phone. I never had it on my phone before and just installed it this morning to check if it worked. Haven't had time to install the others but I'll try when I get out of class.
 
I can confirm that RAdiant HD is causing my phone to reboot on the 03-04 build. I installed it under the 3-01 build and it played amazing. I will try flashing over the files to see if it makes a difference.

The "Radiant Free" also plays smooth on the 02-02 build. Not sure about the HD version. I'm not paying for a game to test if it works or not. Sorry;)
 
Awesome build! My battery life is absolutely amazing! Everything runs very smoothly. Thank you for your continued hard work.
 
I can confirm Plants vs Zombies is running much smoother on the 3/4 build with updated gpu drivers. So far all the games i've tried either run average or above average than they did on previous builds with no force closes.
 
I just restored the 03-01 build and Radiant HD plays just fine. I am not sure what else broke with 03-04 as I don't do too much with my phone. SMS, phone, camera all worked fine with 03-04.

Does it? Good to know, I'll have to reinstall and try playing again.
I miss shooting zombies with peas! :D
 
I am more than happy I rooted my phone with this CM7 build, coming from the stock ROM I have seen so many improvements.. Battery life is more than doubled! way more.. 3g actually works at reasonable speeds and loads nicely with only 1 bar of reception... and just general performance. Thanks Whyzor!

No it's not adjustable unless you do it in the source code (I'm not even sure where it is exactly either). It's set at 90% default as a way to prevent overcharging the battery. Li-ion batteries do not like to be in the fully charged or close to empty state.

As for the few game problems. I'm thinking the new GPU drivers will stay since it works for 90% of the games and users out there, only a few aren't working. And it could be due to the app's fault (using depricated APIs, unconventional calls...etc). Best thing to do is provide a logcat of the crash and send it to the game developer to see if they can figure out what's wrong. And there's always the 03-01 build if you really want to play those games on CM7 Reloaded. There's a possibility a future fix comes into CM7 upstream, but I'm not going to spend much time fixing game compatibility on this ROM.
 
I must have done something silly with paypal, becuase you are right I do not appear to have sent anything on the 4th. That should be corrected now....

I think this is a good decision. I have played a few games using the 3/4 ROM (blood and glory, angry birds, jelly defense, cut the rope, FRG deluxe) and they all appear to work fine. The new graphic driver seem to make everything work a little snappier.

The new CM7 mods like the "View contact by long press on dialpad T9 results" is very handy. And your 250ms delay to "prevent accidentally swiping from screen to capacitive buttons" has made a lot of unplayable games fun.

Whyzor, you are a lot more patient than I am. You answer a lot of questions, many of them you have answered before, without appearing snarky. A real exception in the world of tech. Big thanks for all your work and help!
 
The dialer appears to being working better on this new build coming from wifi sleep (but it could be
luck.) bluetooth and wifi still don't seem to be playing well together. Overall though the new rom definitely seems smoother.
AND a big thanks Whyzor for your continued dedication to improving our phones for us!
