Root [ROM] CM7 TG-Reloaded (Final: 03-25)

I've had some strange behavior sometimes with the app drawer for the last few builds. I open the app drawer, view the app info or market info, and when I go back to the home screen the default app drawer launcher icon has been replaced with that app's icon. I have to create a new shortcut for the app drawer and replace the new icon.

Try re-wiping cache in recovery mode, or if that doesn't do it, go into the settings - applications - manage applications - launcher app - clear data
 
1. The phone sometimes reboots when it's connected to WPA2 enterprise hotspot
2. GPS slow fix... 1min-2mins to get a fix, another minute to get accurate location

Issue 1 may be common among many android devices but it seems it works fine on HP TouchPad [vB2.9.1 Odexed][CM7 XRON-ified] with a newer linux kernel. But it has some other wifi issues..
Issue 2 The stock is not any better on GPS. Some people said it's Qualcomm's fault?
Anyone has tried GPS libraries 2.1 or regional gps.conf files?
 
Still loving all the work Whyzor has put into this Rom. Some recent bugs I found in last two updates is the phone not unlocking after a few tries. Might be a CM problem but the slider will just hover for a few seconds over when it should unlock and then goes back to original position to remain locked. Has also happened twice when someone is calling and I try to answer. Have done factory wipe, but maybe it's just me? Any input appreciated and much cheers to Whyzor. Will definitely be donating in the future when I get around to making a Paypal. ;)

There hasn't been any consistent reports of phone rebooting with WPA2 wifi, it could be a lot of things, overheating because of background apps, undervolting, overclocking, corrupted caches, settings...etc. Take battery out for 2 minutes, wipe cache, re-add hotspot, change wifi channels.

Sounds like a CM7 bug, if touchscreen is registering the touch but the app isn't registering the unlock, try a different type of lockscreen. I like pattern, gesture, or simple menu key unlock for quickest unlock.

BTW donating accepts credit cards without a paypal account.

For the audio issues, some of you can try to grab the /system/lib/liba2dp.so and /system/lib/libaudioalsa.so from a previous ROM .zip (using 7zip or winzip) and then install it into your current 03-04 phone. Make a Nandroid backup first in case something goes wrong, then in terminal emulator or adb shell:

Assuming you've copied the 2 files from a previous ROM into /sdcard dir. See if the crackling is gone after the reboot.

Hello Whyzor, I finally got to test this out and I do believe this is it! It fixed the "crackling" in all my games & emulators and now NO REBOOTS! Block Breaker 3 HD would immediately reboot within a minute of gameplay right after all the crackling started. Gameplay is also sooooo much smoother now.. So for everyone having problems playing games with the 03-04 release, try this out it fixed it for me. &once again thank you Whyzor!



Hmm after about half an hour of gameplay my phone rebooted but it may have been from my phone getting hot? Either way that's half an hour more than what I was getting before lol
 
I just flashed this latest version of CM7. One thing I noticed was that when I hang up from talking on the phone, the screen does not come back on, I have to hit the power button for the screen to come on. Is this a issue with the proximity on the phone? Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?? Its not really important, but enough to bother me when I hang up the phone. Thanks for your feedback.

I did that and the problem of the launcher icon being replaced seems to have gone away. That brings me to another question. I've tried using the 'Backup desktop configuration' option but when I restore the backup it reverts to the default desktop icon layout.

Am I doing something wrong or is the desktop backup not intended for that purpose?

Also, the prox sensor fix seems to not work completely. If I place a call and move the phone to and away from my face quickly, it works with a little flicker but if I leave it next to my face for about 5 seconds, the screen won't turn on and I have to use the power button. I've tried toggling the always use prox setting as well and the same happens.

I have a quick question, is there any way to disable the blue pointer on the text field. It shows up when you press on it somewhere to edit something you have typed? It gets in the way of both my regular keyboard and my swype keyboard

It goes away after a second or two or on a key press. No offense, but I don't see how that's a problem. Then the only way to place the cursor inside text you've typed would be by touch and that's aggravating and difficult to me.

I was getting that as well...including some other weird stuff occurring like missing shortcuts and what not. Something is not right with the launcher so after every CM build that I install...I also install the stock gingerbread launcher which is native to this rom and it is FLAWLESS. No issues with app drawer or anything. I suspect a lot of people when installing CM roms use different launchers cause quite frankly adw launcher isnt really good.

Yes. I was playing Sentinel3 this morning.
"The usual suspects" (Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Rio), Words with Friends Free, work fine.
I just tried Zenonia4, Frontline Commander, both work.
I'm currently trying GTAIII Anniversary Edition to see if that FCs.
I would think Front Line Commander and GTAIII would have issues if Plants vs. Zombies did. But neither do. It's just this one game. It's absolutely bizarre.
 
great ROM, only problem is on Google maps distance is shown in km and not miles, reinstalling will not do anything, anybody knows of a fix?
Also there is a better program to run the camera? my pics are looking like crap...(not the ROM fault..)

It limits my speed of texting because if it is over a letter I need to start with on swype I will hit that multiple times I attempt to spell something out. A big offended for letter that it gets in the way of for me is W ... ever since I started using Swype keyboard I haven't needed to get into the middle of a word, I have to use for it, thats why I am asking if I can disable it.

My Google Latitude shows in Km and not miles also. I asked the same question awhile ago and someone suggested that I flash a different gapps. I never did find one that was in the US standard and wasn't in metric. I read on another forum that you can modify the build.prop file to change the local of the phone but everything I try seems to not have a difference. Let me know if you figure anything out. Thanks

I had this issue somewhere. I don't know if it's Google Sync or timezone turned km into miles..... Google Maps is trying to be smart to figure out what you would like I guess....
 
:/ Latest build is very unstable for me. Flashed it a few days ago and I'm getting reboots every hour or two.

Did you format cache and Dalvik Cache before flashing? If that doesn't work I'd do a factory reset and fresh flash. I had a freeze after flashing over an old build and did a full wipe. Now it's flawless so far.

Yup I did. I had this problem once before on MIUI and I wasn't able to get rid of it. I'll try resetting/reflashing when it gets to be too annoying and see if that fixes it.

Also I've noticed battery life is significantly reduced on this build. Maybe something didn't install quite right.
 
any way to have the phone interpret and dial +1npanxxxxxx properly? with the + in front, the call fails. i have to either go in and delete the + or use google voice.

not sure if the problem exists with stock, but it's there in cm7.

more than half my contacts have a +1 in front. it's a pain in the ass. took a while to figure out the problem.
 
I updated to the 3/4 rom the other day. Seems to be working well for me. UI seems smoother, but it might be since I switched from smartass2 to interactive, like Whyzor recommends.

I also seemed to get better battery life when the wifi was enabled. Now 5.0 p/hr instead of 6.5.

Also tested that LUKS is still working fine. I still owe this forum a thread on how to use it.
