Root [ROM] CM7 TG-Reloaded (Final: 03-25)

Sorry if I wasn't typing clearly. :)

I am considering changing the startup splash and the shutdown animation, too (the cute CM7 animation can stay). :)

Update: for some reason, Root Explorer isn't letting me put those files in that folder (complaints about it being read-only). I also can't get at the phone's internal storage via USB, which was possible on stock (granted, Windows thought it was a CD-ROM, but it was readable and isn't now).
 
The shutdown animation I believe goes in /system/media and is called downanimation.zip. It's been a long time, so I can't say for sure, but I believe that works.

Seeing as how Whyzor is not putting out any more releases, I would say you are out of luck there.
You can always use the source code (from his github) and do that yourself. Otherwise, you are dependant on the people putting out the releases.

So, I had the CM7-TG rom for awhile, but decided to try this one as the mentions of faster video driver and touchscreen improvements were something I was hoping would help with Swype misbehaving. While it may have helped somewhat a bigger issue seems to be in place.

After talking to someone on a phone call and pulling the phone down to end it the screen stays black, until they hang up it would seem. But this makes it so I can't bring up the keypad to do punch in numbers during a call.

Anyone else have this? I may back things up and reinstall, *sigh*.

I suggest trying out g60madman's version of this. He has the proximity issue fixed thy you're having. The link for the thread is http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?t=523270

Just curious being that I am still on this version, if any one else is till one this one and having gps issues, I tried using my gps for the first time since rooting it, and it won't get a lock at all.. its been an hour already and still nothing, before I rooted it did take a while, but never longer than 10 minutes
just curious if anyone else had this on this rom or if its a phone issue for me
 
I'm new to the whole rom thing, and I've had CM7 for a while now and LOVE it! If i update to this, in clockwork, i do a factory reset and cache and then install this update, but then can i use the same gapps from cm7 or is there a newer version?

is this right? Or is there a differentway to update that i dont know about?

As long as it's a Gapps made for CM7, I don't think it should matter since everything should update anyway.
 
If you're updating from Tickerguy's build I don't think you have to do a factory reset.
Unless you have your apps backed up and just prefer a clean install.
 
Seeing as there are no more releases coming to this ROM, I would recommend upgrading to this. Whyzor himself has entrusted g60madman as the new main developer, so it's fair to say that CM7-g60style is an official successor to this. This new ROM is based on CM7.2 RC1, which means it is based on a more updated Cyanogenmod than this one was, and it also includes bugfixes, as well as an ICS theme. It's also more likely that you're going to get help over there, as well as have your issues resolved.

No offense to MadMan but I think this is the better CM7 ROM for now til MAD can fix the camera on his ROM.Last I checked it wasn't working :(

The camera works fine, just won't switch to video on the front facing camera, that will be fixed very soon (building issues). He's included the one from tickerguy, which if I remember, it's the same one Whyzor used.

I saw where he said it's fixed now but I use front cam for Skype so if it's not working then it's no good for me personally.I really love the ICS ROMs but seeing they are in Alpha (but very stable Alpha I may say) I can't use them cause I use camera which they don't have.Once all the bugs are fixed on madman's ROM if CM9 or the other ICS ROMs still don't have camera then I'm surely downloading madman's ROM.:rock:

You could always do a nandroid backup and play with g60's.
I'd do two, I've have a corrupt backup before.

Yeah I got backups cause I usually test ROMs like CM9 and Gannons new ROMs.I will give it a try but it seems like if the camcorder won't work on the front cam then it won't work on Skype :(

Did you see the update? And also, I like to try first before I consider a flaw exists. Anyway, the update may have taken care of the possible issue. Sense you have backups, I would just move to g60's and post in there. He has taken the camera app that tickerguy was using, which I think is what Whyzor was using, and upgraded part by part so he can test what broke it. If you can deal with it for a day, I'd say just flash over what you have and see.:rolleyes:
 
Hey guys, been awhile but im finally back on this build but when i reset phone/installed the rom. I started adding my custom sounds for locking/boot up ect ect and all work but for some reason the same boot up sound/animation i used before is being cut off way early for some reason and ive spent last 2hrs trying everything and i just dont see how to make the full sound play. I double checked the instructions and did em all step by step but its still a no go.

Not a big deal to most but i like hearing my bootup sound i got but when it only plays like 5 secs of it instead of the full length which is like 15 secs and worked before, it kinda urks me. So if anyone has any info on why or what is causing this plz let me know, would be muchly appreciated.

There's a script that I used to enable sounds, I don't know what the limits are to it. I have the "droid" from a droid x to annoy a friend of mine. I think it is in the g60 style thread and it's a post by thangfish. I merged it into my build, but you don't want that one. I may see if I can find the post later and link to it.
It may have to do with the animation you have. If your "part 0" or what ever was defined in your bootanimation.zip is only 5 seconds long, that may be why it plays short.

Ya i googled all over and even found the old turtorial i used before when i first did it that worked so i retraced steps, reflashed rom and even formatted phone to try all and none seemed to work. i did the bootsnd. sh thing in terminal and its the same animation/sound i used before, wasnt a new download cuz i had it backed up on pc.

Just urking me why it aint working or what issue is. Im maybe thinking since this is a newer build than what i was on that something got changed in the buildprop or one of those files that makes it shut off sound but i cant find any info on that since its not a big topic rly. So ya, anything u or anyone else can find i would rly appreciate it :)

Could you post a .zip or something of your bootanimation and the sound. I'm curious to what you have. That's of coarse it's not copyrighted;)

ya hang on sec, sorry got busy in rl. well for some reason its not wanting to upload and the files aint even that big but im trying.
