Isn't "data" the internal memory? Here is a shot from ES Task manager.

Shouldn't the partition show up as internal memory? Why is my internal memory nearly maxed out?

The default ssm cause clicking the data and rebooting makes everything disappear and doing a SD ext restore doesn't bring anything back, there are 81 apps in the app drawer.

Edit..... the 81 is counting text, phone, quick pic, etc

its been said many times that ssm with 1 partition only mounts sd-ext as /data/app and it doesn't show up as internal storage, dalvik cache and everything else is still on internal.

only data mode shows up as internal, and the reason a sd-ext restore wouldn't work is cause your backup was made with ssm.

Yeah i followed it exactly to the letter like it says on Kouma's thread. I even asked kouma about it onetime to make sure i was doing it right. And i just used advanced restore in CWM after switching the setting to data.

So in theory if I go in CWM and wipe the dalvik cache then it will show more internal when I reboot?

Mine has 4 things checked.


The main reason i bring all this up is cause just last week when i had maybe 2-4 more apps installed it said i was running out of space and also when it got low, my 3g data wouldn't work anymore, as soon as i freed up some apps by deleting them the 3g data started working again which made me start looking into storage issues.

you are also in data mode by the numbers of free and used. in ssm none should be checked. even in data they shouldn't be checked, either make a backup and then uncheck them and see what it does and then can always restore if not liked. not really sure about data, i have always run ssm.


actually what size card do you have???? and are you on ssm and if so uncheck them. also what is your manage apps in settings say????
 
btw guys, if you have questions about the kernel/sd-ext please post it in the koumakernel thread, hes the one who knows everything about it. all i do is include it in the rom.

I just went in and switched it to SSM in the kk settings, I could have sworn that's where it was before. and when i go to on sd card and click on them to uncheck them it just opens up the options for the app, to move to phone etc...

Edit: I have a 4gb card i'm on SSM and in manage apps On sd card says .93gb used and 873mb free. On All it says 134mb used 26 mb free

also when making any changes you have to reboot to get it to activate.
 
you didn't format sd-swap (mmcblk0p3) so dalvik can't move only /app did. you need either flash wipe dalvik ssm zip or full format zip. both in kk 2.5 that. the wipe dalvik zip will fix for ssm without having to reinstall apps you already got. wipe dalvik in recovery then flash formatter zoo
 
Blooddawn, Flashed your 3.6 CTMod. What wifi tether program can be configured or supported by this ROM? Been thru three thus far with no luck. Read & Read and cannot find any mention of wifi tether with CTMod. Thank you.

I second this...i know in some version before there was one
...don't think it worked though.



*side note, i use kouma's apk and the zip, flashed the zip
On new 16gig.class4, partitioned card to 4gig,0 swap on cw recovery, changed the settings to,data
Rebooted,
Now internal memory shows 3.4gigs with around 100 apps plus system apps

I'm currently running CT 3.6 and posting this off my working wifi tether... (its my only Internet) ;) lol... Gotta keep my tether working... But yeah anyway, I've never had problems with this app... Like I said... Using it now...

Go into the settings and change the DEVICE PROFILE TO INDULGE and the SET UP METHOD TO SOFTAP FOR MASTER... And then you should have it working... GOOD LUCK...

SAMSUNG GALAXY INDULGE... sure its there... Its the third one from the bottom.... (I think)... but yeah... You must've missed it....

And you won't be able to change the SETUP METHOD until you change the DEVICE PROFILE...
