Root [ROM] Cyanogenmod For Droid V5.0.7 (05/24/2010)

I gotta say even with Helix 2 this thing is fast. I was using NexBeast and this seems just as fast if not faster. The only problem I've had so far is with Helix 2. Every time I'm in an app in landscape, when I go home and go back to portrait Helix force closes. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm thinking of switching launchers to either ADW or Launcher Pro but I really like how Helix functions over the others with the customizable icons.

WOOO HOOOOO nextheme is working fine...... im so happy :)

to change the clock color look in spare parts and then reboot ;)

I'm getting FC's with the music player, using DroTheme. Gonna do a fix permissions, hopefully that will fix the issue.

Okay couple of points:

NexBeast was slightly faster for me...but this is definitely the fastest release of CM I have used to date (and I think I tried each generation since Koush started porting it). I'm running the stock theme which kinda sucks...but was made usable do the the new Spare Parts options that were available to change all of the fonts and some other things in the menu/notification panel. Seems really stable after 24 hours with a LV 1.0GHz P3Droid Kernel.

I'm going to try the new theme that Fabulous pointed to...looks pretty damn nice! I can always fall back on NexTheme (er, DroTheme I guess now). It's nice having the CM "touches" back and the speed is very good.

No issues that I have really seen except for one...and CM ROMs seem to have this problem: Did anyone have trouble getting their Market Apps to resync to the phone when they loaded this? I did a full wipe (formated all partitions...you know, normal stuff) and the Market wouldn't auto download my apps. I could go into the "Download" section of the Market and see all the apps I previously had installed but I had to eventually download them manually. Any one else see this? If there is a way to "force" the download...please let me know for future reference cause I am unaware of any way to do it.

All things considered this is now sitting pretty even with NexBeast for me. Nice to have choices like this! :D Makes it much easier to wait patiently for Froyo...

adb server is out of date. killing....

what the hell is that about? It started when i flashed to koush today

Did you update your SDK? It might have come with a newer version of adb.

Either way, as long as adb restarts up, you should be fine.

As a progress report, since fixing the music app, everything's been very smooth and fine. Really enjoying the song skip with screen off using volume keys.

Thanks, I've been looking for it, too. I hadn't tried it yet, figured I'd give it a go. I tried the Launcher Pro, but wasn't too impressed. Not being able to change the soft keys is kinda annoying, and I found the app drawer to be somewhat laggy.

Right now, I'm really glad I have Home Switcher. lol

EDIT: I've got a question, is there a way to add screens to ADW? I never thought I'd need it, but I've really grown accustomed to having 7 screens. Also, what's the diff between it and Launcher 2?

For apps2sd to work you have to partition your sd card. Rom Manager will do it for you. Just make sure you backup your sd card first because it gets formatted in the partitioning process.

I haven't backed up my SD card before. The simplest thing that comes to mind is to just create a folder on my computer and copy everything to that. That sound about right?

yes thats the way to do it. If you have a card reader for your micro sd I would suggest doing it that way though cause it would be much faster than mounting the phone.

Nah, sure don't. It shot up to like 55 minutes to do and I was like ! But it's already down below 10 mins, so I guess I can tolerate it. lol Thanks!

There is a newer LauncherPro in the market but I am getting "unsigned" errors when attempting installation. The newer version might let you change to dock shortcuts.

As for ADW, go to ADW settings, screen preferences, desktop screens. It does go up to 7 screens.

Ok, one more thing. When partitioning the SD card, there's a few numbers they throw out at ya. They do an ext. size and swap size. Is this saying there's a limit to what I can put on the card? Is there a suggested size I should go w/?

My suggestion would be to go with the largest sizes unless you need space on your sd. I think for sdext that is 512mb and 256mb for swap.

Update on a previous post: The latest LauncherPro available in the market does allow you to easily assign new shortcuts to the launchbar (or whatever they call the bottom docked shortcuts). I had to uninstall the old pre-installed version of Launcherpro before this would install. Just long-press the docked shortcut you want to change and you will presented with a menu (I still prefer ADW).
