I liked ApeX 1.3, then 1.3.1 but I had instability issues. No instability issues with this one and I just re-flashed yesterday with the new combined ROM (4.1 and 4.2 together instead of separate).
There's still something I don't understand. I've always had the habit of turning off my phone to charge it overnight. When I did that when running ApeX and now running DarkSlide, the phone goes from the M logo on startup to the greenscreen to choose reboot now. When the phone was unrooted it powered up normally.
When I asked this on another forum, the responder stated that is normal startup. I say BS. If the phone turns on normally before root and abnormally after root then there's some piece of code missing from both ApeX and DarkSlide. And that's the only gripe I have about DarkSlide. It's not a deal breaker, but it is annoying.
And I'm very familiar with custom ROMs and rooting. I've been hacking phones since my first Moto e815.
If it's plugged in and you are starting up I think that is intended with Clockwork Recovery. Mine does it but only when plugged in and then turned on and I just hit reboot but I think I've read in the past that Clockwork does that and I'm ok with it.
Crap I have Liberty dialed in and now I want to try this...argh!
i promise you wont be disssapointed...this has moved right up to my favorite with apexI am tempted. I have so many Nandroids, .340 Base, Fission, Fission themed, Apex, Gummy Jar Base and Themed and now Liberty Base. Probably time to delete a few of these puppies. Will try DS tonight.

i would also go with the blureless imo...it very functional and not really that stripped downI am tempted. I have so many Nandroids, .340 Base, Fission, Fission themed, Apex, Gummy Jar Base and Themed and now Liberty Base. Probably time to delete a few of these puppies. Will try DS tonight.
to be honest there is not too much of a difference overall,,,,they are both smooth and stable for me and they are both now my choice roms,,,,you obviously dont have the scripts in darkslide as you do with apex to install/swich etc and darkslide has a little more blur but is by no means slow due to it,,,i personally like many features of blur just as much as i like stuff built from source on some stripped down roms ,,,,i have not had ANY issues with Darkslide 4.2 and i have been running it for quite a few days now and have messed around with it an aweful lot...i strongly recommend this romso im on apex now whats the major difference in going to darkslide.... have been kinda curious about it

this rom is already extremely heavily themed and there really is no need for one since they would conflict so much and it is so great as is,,,,,any wallpapers and batt icons you see we have changed using programs like gimp or photoshop and any notification icons can be altered using metmorph and found at droidpirate.comWell, after reading through this thread, looks like I am going to back everything up and try it too (tomorrow). One question. Are there only certain themes you can use with this ROM and where can I find the themes? I like some that are posted in this thread...looks very good.
Thanks!
