Have a issue that maybe someone can help me with?

When I get a text message, the screen on my phone lights up and remains on until I answer the message. I leave the phone unattended while at work and this is killing my battery.

Is there a setting or a way to keep the messaging from turning on the screen? I have checked and do not see one. I am using 7.8 Official version of DU and also using the DU messaging app. This also happens if I use Textra or other apps.

Do you have lockscreen notifications or have active display turned on? Make sure you have wake on notification unchecked.

OK. So the signal strength in the top right corner has full strength, but when I pull down and open settings the network signal tile is different. Signal strength on the top bar is always at full. What happened?

New test build on G+! Enjoy. It'll be my last build for a bit since I'll be away on vacation.

Next weeklies should be available on Monday or Tuesday, iirc.

Thank goodness. I've been away in the Adirondacks with no electricity or internet and figured there would be 6 new test builds by now. :p :D

I'm still using the 4.4.3 version of DU. To use the latest version, can I just wipe and flash, or do I need to do something else?

Would simply flashing those files be pretty safe?

I know with the DHD, I was told to use RUUs as they would be slightly more safe than just flashing a radio, but I don't know if it's the same here.

edit:

alright so I've flashed the DU rom with PA GApps and now I keep getting the popup for "process com.android.systemui has stopped" and then I cant do anything but turn the phone off.

I've tried wiping and reflashing the ROM and that hasn't helped. The second time I tried it, I hadn't changed any settings or used any other mod

What version of DU are you flashing? The latest official or Test Build version?
As long as you have a n EFS backup... There is no worries in flashing a modem/radio through recovery... Just download and flash the radio of your choice. The radio.img is for fastboot and the radio.zip is for recovery. When flashing a radio there is no need to wipe anything

Yep, the latest stable version of DU. I've tried it 3 times and each time I get the same problem. Only thing I can think of are the tweaks, but I havent done much other than the standard quck settings adjustments etc>

I would either try a clean install with a factory data reset, which you should typically do with an official build and/or try the latest test build and see if the com.android SystemUI stopped error resolves itself. I got this error on the previous official build but it didn't cause any effects or problems... Then I flashed the next test build and the problem went away.
Or logcat it and submit it to Josh.

Edit:
I've also seen where some status bar tweaks have caused this issue, 3rd party launchers and the Facebook app as well... Just some suggestions as far as tweaks and apps go.

The only status bar tweak I had used was the slide to control brightness.

Currently on the latest beta of PA which seems to be fine so far, so it looks like the issue was either with my tweaks or the rom. I'll try the latest test build of DU tomorrow :D

Either your eyes are playing tricks on you or your network doesn't like you. That would be my guess. :p

OK. Maybe it was something I did playing with my DU ROM I just flashed. Maybe if I reflash it will correct it?

I seem to drill have the fc issue after flashing test build 8/7...

I updated all my apps (including g+) and sure enough endless fc. Had to nandroid back. Made one before updating the apps after doing all my setting. So no big deal but not sure how to proceed...

Edit:
Gah! Should have waited. New test build up... Apparently it was already up before I flashed. Ugh.

Edit again:
Dirty flashed 8/13 and all is well so far. :)

Latest test build allows you to modify vibrator tunables from a device settings menu also, fyi.

Hopefully, everyone is enjoying the new t-build sans that crikey G+ bug.

Are you talking about vibrator intensity under the sound settings? Or is there another that lets you customize vibration patterns?

If the latter, I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Yeaaaaaaah, that's what I'm talking about. Personally, I don't like it there. I'll likely drudge up a plan to move it elsewhere in the near future.

I know I'm not one to post much even though I am a big fan of DU. I've got to say with this latest test build on G+, this is the fastest running build so far and I mean smoking fast. I can't even get my finger off the screen and the app is done no matter what I'm doing, sending or opening. Wasn't unhappy with the old but once I experienced the speed of this build...WOW!!! Sticking with this one for awhile for by far it is the best running since the journey began. Thank you for all the hard work and dedication to this ROM, couldn't imagine running anything else!! :smokin:
