Root [ROM][FINAL] CM7 7.2 RC1 - g60 style [7.11.12]

You could try. Let us know what happens. The worst I can think would happen is it wouldn't work or lock up the phone. After that you could just remove it:D

Damn. Problem parsing the package.

I fixed the permissions before I tried installing to rwrr

Another big update I'd figure I'd post. Remember when months ago Firefox sucked so badly on mobile phones, including the Triumph? Well, these days are about to end, luckily! After countless months of running all these dev builds, reporting bugs, and sending in performance info and crashes, it seems that me and (mainly) countless others have taken a piece of garbage and made gold out of it. Random reboots are incredibly rare on Firefox 14 beta (and the Nightly) as I've only got one random reboot over the past month or two. Now, this seems awfully close to release quality here - no bloated ui or general slowness and or instability. Although Chrome is great, too, it would require one to put CM9 on their Triumph, which I would not recommend as it is still in Alpha. However, this new Firefox works great with this ROM! And it has Flash! You can grab it here. Sorry if this is a little off topic, but i terms of keeping on topic to this ROM, I would like to let the others know that this new Beta has axed all of the annoying random reboots. It works great on the Triumph! Just don't install regular Firefox on your phone, it's still the same old slow version.

won't install

Some .apk's don't install, they just need to be in the right place (/system or /data). The camera app is a good example of that. If it's in the /system filder with the right permissions, when you reboot, it will work. It's how Iv'e done my testing for the apps from various ROMs.

I made it a system app, fixed permissions and rebooted. Nothing.

Smoooooth, +1 you got skill, and I appreciate the work, I could sit here and blab about all of it, but kick back and toast to yourself, your deserve it, best smoothest, stablest rom I've used to date I believe, left cm9 due to bugs, kang had problems still, dig it. Theme Chooser built in themes, nice addition with the miui, DANK

I recently noticed a problem with the camcorder. Maybe the auto-focus?
When I move the camera at all, it clicks like the lens is hitting against the cover of the camera. I would blame the problem on my video player, but i can actually hear the clicking while I'm recording. I figured it was a hardware problem so I had VM send me a new one under warranty. The new one does exactly the same thing. I flashed back to stock and confirmed that it does not have the problem (although I also confirmed that stock takes way worse looking video!)

I don't use my camcorder that often, but it's pretty irritating when I do.

Here's a sample of the problem: Motorola Triumph CM7 camcorder issue - YouTube

Hooray for bug reports!

BTW: It does this running r0.6 and r0.7. I haven't tried it on any other flavors of CM7.

Also, does anyone else have this issue?

MikeRL: Trying the new Firefox. Like that I can sync my bookmarks! Cannot however get flash to work on it. Tips? (I do have flash downloaded btw)

Edit: OK seems to have flash stuff show up on some sites I use and not others. May be the sites themselves. Videos seem to cause everything to reboot however. Looks like I may have to think about what I use this browser for at the moment.

Yup it's that new damn auto focus. I will work on this for r0.8 and hopefully fix the issue. I just tested and see the problem. I will post this on My View - MantisBT

So if I am using the zeam launcher from 06 with the updates to the new folders etc. would I need to download zeam from the play store to continue using it if I update? Also would those fixes still work with the play store version (I thought they didn't). I like being updated but don't want to totally lose my setup.

Whyzor had previously disabled auto focus (in the reloaded ROM) for video recording... I guess it must be back.

Nah, the flashable mods for Zeam won't work on that. I think you can just make it a user app before you install the update... Should be able to keep it that way. I'll get you something made up anyway.

Yeah after I rolled to r0.7 I just downloaded Zeam from the playstore. I am not sure if you have to reset up all your windows again though as I always wipe my device just to make sure everything works with each build and redownload all my apps.

However form this point forward you won't need to make changes to what ever launcher you use as I will not be making any more changes to launchers. r0.7 will be staying the same, the only changes will be fixes to known bugs and any updates that Cynogen makes. To me this is the cleanest CM7 has ever been minus a handful of bugs (camera, video's, hdmi).

Can you guys please download any TV show, and try to watch it for 20 mins? This is driving me crazy! I don't care about HDMI, CM7 is fully working amazing ROM but the bug with video player that I reported earlier is killing it for me. I keep getting back to stock over and over again, because it's impossible to watch any movies.
It plays OK, but then the video freezes and you can still hear the voice. Pause and play fixes it for 3 mins, then video freezes again and again, then the voice freezes as well. I've tried 4 different SD cards, changed SD card cache settings, have tried them cleaned and formatted with different allocation sizes. It is not SD card issues. And it looks like I'm the only one who's experiencing this problem. I also went full stock and back and I don't have any problems on the stock.
I've been using CM7 since Whyzor, and now from r0.0 and I'm loving it. But it can't be my primary ROM because 99% of time I watch videos in the subway where I don't have any data connection to enjoy something else.

Thanks

I am still working on the video issue I have not solved it yet but I am getting very bad framerates and also jitter sound as well. I have tried rolling back the video drivers but it gets worse. This is on the list to fix!

Does it do that with all video formats, our just certain ones? I suppose you've tried different players...

I haven't seen this, but what little video watching I do are usually short.

It lags with all video formats, different players, hardware or sofware decoding.
Haven't tested youtube though.

if you install this flashable zip (Zeam Launcher made fashable so it installs as a system app) after installing G60's R07 you can instal thangfish's mod on it:
Zeam launcher.zip

It's been talked about since tickerguy's earliest builds.
Someone just figured out how to do it the other day...
Let me find that post.

Edit:
Here
Thanks to stevedar69 for figuring it out.

Just tried this fix, the problem is that we don't have an International Prefix setting within the Call Settings. I believe we once did with CM7, but it is no longer there. Facebook phone numbers append their numbers with a +1. Thanks for any insights.

I haven't used any others since you started taking over CM7. before, MIUI worked fine. (I just didnt like the apple-ish feel. I'm a fan of the Android feel.) and I havent tried any of the newer Roms mainly because this is my daily driver and I prefer the camera working. And that seems to be a common issue between MIUI and CM9

I am nowhere near a developer. I just like checking out what other people have created. Looking forward to trying out R0.7. just going to do a backup and fresh install right off the bat.
