Root [ROM/Kernel] Stock++

Second time this has happened to me. Please tell me what I am doing wrong, or why this is not working.

I wanted to go back to stock, so I flashed the original CWM you have linked in the first post.
Went to advanced > Reboot Recovery

And this is what happens every time I try booting into recovery.

So basically I'm stuck unable to do anything with the phone and I have no idea what I did the first time to get this to work after going back to stock from the CM7.2 beta.

Then something is wrong with the ROM/Kernal because nothing changes when themes are flashed...but it doesn't matter anyway now since I have a useless phone.
I have the kernel n cm7 installed on my wifes admire n its running great ;)

I'm not doubting they may be some issues that still worked out, but just be patient and req will figure em out n fix em. My previous post didnt mean he wouldnt fix the rom/kernel, just not theme etc. Basically its a base for all the themers to build from or whoever to do whatever with. ;)

Well my issue is now the stupid original CWM posted doesn't work and now it cannot mount stuff, therefore I'm pretty damn pissed and have a phone that simply does not work.

If only I could get my damn nandroid backup to install, but that would require CWM mounting cache.

Ok, temper tantrum aside, I finally got that can't mount cache issue sorted, I think. Edit: By the way, the Stock++ kernel is nice and much faster. I only wanted to switch back to stock because for some reason flashing themes over just wouldn't work for me.

If anyone else is having this issue at any time, here's what worked for me.
1) Inserted SD card into another device to attach to the computer
2) Format the SD card on the computer
3) Install all files back onto the SD card
4) Boot back into recovery (can't mount cache errors will still show)
5) Restore back-up

Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this problem? Is it possible that I just have a bad SD card?

im having trouble i followed the directions and wipe data cache, dalvic cache and i formated system and data but when i install the rom and reboot it just stops at the samsung with fading blue screen what do i do

Everything is working fine with mines well havent played with the ext4 & the scripts but its fine..just one question can I flash monster 4 with the stock++

stock++ is the rom, it should work though, its a stock based rom but you will have to wipe data, cache, dalvik then head to mounts and storage and format data, and system. If it installs let me know

is there a reason you want to score so high? i mean cool some numbers say it runs fast, but is it just bragging rights or what? cause mine runs fine stock, and the only benifit to all this oc and init.d scripts is about 4 seconds. i mean yea i like my phone snappy and quick but if it runs fine i wouldnt mess with it. lol. im scoring 800+ not even overclocked.. and thats fine. if you wanted a really fast phone you 1)shouldnt be on metro and 2)should not have the admire. its low end lol

Rather have those 4 second than not

What the hell is this?
This here is an improved MetroPCS stock ROM.

How do I use it?

  1. First make sure you do a nandroid backup.
  2. Flash my CWM Recovery and Kernel package, then go to Advanced->Reboot recovery..
  3. Install the latest version of Stock++.
  4. Select Reboot system now and wait at least 5 minutes for the dalvik cache to get rebuilt.

List of improvements over stock:

Rooted
Deodexed (holler at me, themers :P)
ext4 filesystem (fassssst)
Kernel overclocked to 900Mhz (download setcpu to underclock)
init.d support (for those kernel tweak scripts you guys like)

Why should I use this over stock or your CM7 beta(s)?

It's faster and everything works.

Can I use this in my theme/rom/throm?
Go for it, but give credit where it is due. Alot of you guys think I'm a hardass who doesn't like you, I just don't like misinformation.

Great job, can I buy you a beer?

Can I PM you?
You can, but you'll get a faster response if you join us on IRC. (irc.irondust.net/#admire)

Wait, I want to go back to stock, but your recovery won't let me!?
Don't panic, just install SuigintouLain's original CWM and restore from your nandroid backup you made earlier. (You DID make one, didn't you?)

I can theme it up for you if ya want.

I installed the stock++ and it is so fast......no errors or problems....
but can someone please answer this.....
what if i want to go back to my backup.... will it work or do i have to
flash another cwm

This converts nothing. ext4 is a completely different filesystem than stock (which Samsung's proprietary RFS, and super slow). If you have anything from a non-ext4 ROM (this and CM7 are the only ext4 ROMs currently) you can't restore your backup. It's frankly not worth the time for me to write a script to convert the filesystems to ext4. The main reason for releasing this is for people current themers/ROM "devs" to have something to build off of rather than vanilla (RFS, non-OC'd) stock.
