Root [ROM] MidnightRom: Sense 1.5.4

Hey guys,
I just wanted to chime in and thank the developers of this rom. This is an excellent rom! I've been using it exclusively since 1.1.8. I really like it. So... THANKS!
 
I don't know about everyone else but I'm frustrated by the constant random reboots, and often at the most inconvenient time.

I've tried all the roms and I have an odd-suspicion that the custom kernels (Anthrax and PowerKernel) are at fault. Those with the stock HTC kernel still seems to be the most stable. Unfortunately, if you look around, builds using the stock ICS 4.0.3 VM kernel are pretty crappy (i.e. MeanRom v2.6 w/ old htc kernel).

So, after much back and forth, I've come to the conclusion that the most stable - and still tailored rom is actually MidnightRom v1.1.2 (with stock HTC kernel).

works so far. impressive performance. I am optimistic the new kernel update will fix random reboots. None so far. I just left the CPU settings alone. Its at 1.35 by default. thats quick enough.
 
Anyone else having trouble with wifi tether? Mine seems broke and not broadcasting. My laptop nor will my Galaxy S tab 10.1 find it. Strange. It was working fine until i updated to the newest version of this rom last night.

What happened to Google Now and how can I keep it so I dont have to keep flashing it when I do rom updates??

Does anyone know if I will keep losing Google now everytime I update this rom. When I updated from 1.9 to 1.2, I lost Google Now, I had to reinstall it. Anyone have any ideas??
 
i like your rom the most of the sense roms but i get so many crashes with it when i overlock(that i dont get on either harmonia or cm9) =(

Update - I just updated from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1 and the same thing happened. Does anyone know why I keep losing Google Now when I update?? This is frustrating to install Google Now everytime I update. Please help!!
 
My guess is because g now is maybe a system app so it gets replaced when the new rom overwrites the system. I always just flash it again when I flash the new rom and am good to go when all reboots.
 
I like this rom SO much! but the I had to make the switch. I don't know what is the cause of it, but the reboots were getting frustrating
 
Im also going to have to run something else. Phone keeps freezing and rebooting when I try to unlock it.
 
This is fantastic, t0ok me forever to root & all that fun stuff, had my eye on this rom the whole time!! Just upgraded from the Triumph!!
 
I'm having a problem sending or receiving photos with newest version 1.2.1 Is there anyone else who is also having this issue? Thanks

backup the apk file . store in in your SD CARD.. THEN JUST INSTALL IT... EASY! ITS CALLED VELVET.APK

I do a Data Factory Reset thru recovery and the wipe cache/dalvik as well. Then Flash. No issues with me . It seems to be running smooth
 
I was having reboot issues on other roms but not this one. Deleted the sense launcher and I'm using the jb holo launcher and anthrax 3.2.0b with s2w disabled. Clocked at 1.56 max, 192 min, lagfree gov, noop scheduler, vsync on and being controlled by system tuner.
 
Just wanna say a big thanks to all the people who spend the time and money to make android phones the best they can be. i installed this rom had some touble at first but i bought and used 4ext and bam it worked also side note i didnt know i had to reactivate my phone hahahah oh well great job xthedakmanx. one quick question though how do get my ps3 controller to work i havent tried anything yet because idk where to start THANX ! ! !

WI-FI tether is working fine for me . try using 4ext if your not already. and enable smart flash feature. And for the tether app make sure you change profile to generic ics and enable routing fix. also I do a factory data reset and wipe cache/dalvik as well then flash ROM... try that . then report back.

I was having a similar issue, although I had originally named my SSID "Mobile Network". This caused an "Other Network" SSID to display on my computer's connections list which I was not able to connect to. After removing the space, renaming the SSID to "MobileNetwork" everything worked great.
