Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM7 build 2013-03-03

I decided to move from MIUI to cm7. I have to say it is much faster and the battery life seems better. But recently I've noticed a few problems that are pretty annoying.

Sometimes when I unlock my phone it's either in airplane mode or has no connection to the network. I hold the power button to bring up the menu and turn off airplane mode (even when it shows no connection and not airplane mode, it's still in AP mode, because I can still turn it off.).

The second problem is that people have been calling me but they're being sent straight to voice mail, like my phone is off or d/c. I even made sure there was connection when they called.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

I think you can probably deduce from all of the happy comments that the problems you are experiencing aren't specific to the rom but to you.

Are you sure you followed all the install directions properly?

Clean factory reset, clear cache, clear dalvik cache. Not sure of anything more I can do! The sharp rom worked _flawlessly_

24+ hours of life with heavy use on a 1 year old battery? No problem

I get great battery life my self. I have ever sense Whyzor took over. There have been times that I get a bad app, or a bad flash. It happens. There are apps that can be used to trace down causes of a bad battery life. One being better battery stats, CPUspy, and my new favorite (though I haven't found all of the features) system tuner.

I of corse recommend a fresh start. Factory reset (that's /data and /cache) and dalvic cache. After that, try to load apps over a few days. Apps can kill the battery, like the email app that comes with the ROM. That one can try to sync even if you don't have an account and keep the phone awake and the data running. I've had other issues over the year I've had my phone. One app that would lock the phone in portrate, even though it was in landscape. Very anoying. Anyway, respond back and we'll help.

I'm on 810 and the only problem worth mentioning is when I'm on the phone and the person I'm talking to hangs up first the phone goes dark, no response, no button function, have to pull battery. I did have a message and the light was blinking red (msg notification) while the phone was dark but, still no accses until batt pull.

Out of curiosity were you overclcoking and/or undervolting? It doesn't look like your screen was on very much, but i'm guessing you slept sometime in that 29+ hours :D and FYI for monitoring battery use "No Frills CPU Control" gives you feedback as to what percent of the time your CPU is running at respective speeds. This is often helpful, for me anyway, in determining if a ROM is getting better battery life or just sandbagging at the CPU min. But congrats on the one day and counting!

Mine did this on MIUI. It's really frustrating.

I have to talk a lot on the phone and I'm having to race ppl to hang up first. I've been accused of hanging up on ppl. It's a ROM killer for me, hope someone knows a work around?
There is a setting, under settings-accessibility I believe, that lets you press the power button to hang the phone up.

Yes, I just used CM7 performance settings to set the max clock to 1.4 GHz, and set the governor to SmartassV2 on boot. I didn't know nofrills had that feature, though I used the app about a year ago.

Is "total" based on usage since last charge?

What Files did you add/ delete or Mod to get the music to not go down when theres a notification? also i have try everyones GPS fix and nothing works what did you do to get it to work? PLEASE HELP

For the last week or so I'm dropping to20 or 30% in six hours with medium use. Normally I'm in the 50/60% range at that time.the battery stats have standby at 60% of the use, with 66% no signal which is my guess why. The thing is, I'm always in the same place every day, and I always have a signal when I pick up the phone, 3g and everything. No new apps. Wondering if it's a setting I don't know about, never had the issue with all the other CM 7's I've tried

I turned off juice defender.the phone is snappier, the time without signal is one third of what it was in standby. It looks like jd was slowing things down and eating battery life

Not sure who you are asking, but if it's the DEV team then, we (chairshot mostly I think) edited the gps.config and the build.prop files to get the GPS to work so well. They also added in a bunch of libraries to go with all of that. As for as the sound issue, I think g60 got that one. I can dig through the commits to find it if you need me to, but it's on the github You're welcome to have a look.

And we hope to have a small update soon. I fixed my parsing of the bootsound script that someone found for us, and a nice chunk of tweaks that chairshot has found. We hope y'all like it.

I love this rom and it is my daily driver at the moment. Just wanted to point out that while moving in the car it took 4 minutes to get a signal lock. still better than stock but I wish it could be more like the sharp's GPS speed. Also while navigating, the screen never dimmed so it used a lot of battery.

While using navigation you can turn off the screen and it will still do the sound part for the turn-by-turn. I use that when I use navi and playing pandora.

I will take another look at the GPS, at one point we had it down to about 10/15 seconds with only modifying the gps, conf. We later added the gps libs used in Sharp and Andro-id and had it down to about 2 seconds regardless of the gps.conf so I took out a bunch of stuff from the gps.conf I had been experimenting with. Later there had been mention that it was eating up extra battery so we removed the gps libs but I did not add everything back into the gps.conf that had been there before. Did a bit of testing but could have just been a good day for gps so at the time figured they had not been needed. Have been looking at other things lately and have not used gps all that often but will add in the old gps.conf at lunch and do some more testing. Otherwise at the time it was reported I did some comparison with Stock and older versions of CM7 and did not find any difference in battery use. Navigation eats up the battery in general. Best thing to do to conserve power is what is mentioned above and turn of the screen if only listening to directions. Would recommend a car charger for anyone who uses Navigation frequently.

Hey great work, what would be the differences between MTDEV-CM7 build 20120819 and CM7 TG-Reloaded

Light years of difference. TG is cm7 rc1 we are now on cm7.2.0 tons of improvements and tons of new features fixed. Whyzor added much to cm7 and we took it from their with g60 style and then starship. Now we are doing mtdev releases.

Hard to say our focus right now is CM9. However there was a few bugs that needed fixing. As bugs appear we will go back and fix. The goal of CM7 was to have the most stable ROM possible for the Triumph using Gingerbread and I think we have that right now. There still is some bugs but it in no way effects the phone from working. It's much more solid than Froyo that came with the phone. And while HDMI does not work it's easy to do a nadroid backup and install a Froyo ROM for that feature if you need it.

If you look at the build number, it shows the date of the build, in this case 20120819 which was uploaded some time yesterday. You can find what build is available in the first post of this thread :D. The second post shows what improvements were make for each build.
