Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM7 build 2013-03-03

quick question:
so basically there no changes between 9/21 build and this one, right?
I had video problems with 9/23 build so I rolled back to 9/21, now deciding if I should flash 9/26 build.

I was going to ask the same question...

I left CM7 G6 Style for Sharp 2.2.2... for the GPS lock speed... But now I'm coming back home baby! Hello CM-7.2.0 [MTDEV BETA]!!!

Feels great to be on g60madman's branch again :D

I had just gotten totally fed up with the GPS in my Triumph and tada! You guys have totally fixed it! Thank you thank you thank you ;-)

I ran this and it appears that this virus that started on Samsung is also in the dialer if I understand it that is being used here.

Run this in the browser on your phone:
USSD Exploit Test

if your IMEI number comes up the you have a problem - down load telstop from play and load it and it will partially fix it - better yet change your dialer.

I might be the only one with this but I would be interested if anyone else is getting the same thing.

don't panic just check it out. We can always flash it out.

Installed this rom earlier this week and have to give thanks for all the hard work. :congrats:

My camera runs beautifully now. The GPS connects right away. And the overall feel of the phone is much faster. Hardly any noticeable hiccups at all!

Now if we could only get ICS to operate the same way. One can only dream, lol...

I'm perfectly content with this version of cm7 (...for now :D)

The Rom will not let me change the default dialer it always reverts back to the one embedded in the system - when you dial a number it defaults to the one in the system?
Tried to use Dialer One - all sets up but dials out using the built in dialer? solution?

I am working on CM9 with all my free time, I have been revamping the device files, and was able to get a build out last night but I haven't tried to install it as no apps where in the ROM LOL. So still working on it!

I can do what ever I want, mu wa ha ha.But in all seriousness, Is the font better?

It's the same font, it just ads some symbols and characters frequently used in some European countries that the original version is missing, so instead of seeing the original symbol/character when reading a webpage or email I see squares instead. I would really appreciate including this font update in the future releases!

We just need to make sure that it doesn't do something screwy. And do the other things we have in line, like the custom carrier text in CM9. And figure out where I went wrong with the bootanimation sounds. And ... And...

At least this one should be easy.

Hello everyone - I hate wasting space in these threads, but wanted to thank the developers for making the Triumph into such a great phone. Without your help, we'd be paying $35 a month.

Also, is there any possibility that an MTDEV build might include compatibility with the Disable CPU Rendering mod? We've been hearing anecdotal evidence that it improves battery life, noticeably. I don't know if this is actually true, but it sounds pretty interesting. Does anyone know for certain?

It's already been discussed in these forums, and some of the devs from MTDEVs have already posted commentary on the subject.

I'll let g60 and chairshot comment on this one. They have been handling the device files and build.prop mostly.

We can look into this and see if it makes a difference. It looks like he offered a flashable zip have you tried this?

I have not, unfortunately, although plan on flashing/modding soon.

Also, it's important to mention that the Triumph has Adreno 205, not Adreno 200 (the required GPU). I know that there's not much of a difference, but it's still worth noting.

According to the thread:

inub said:
doesnt work with the newest build i just get boot loops everytime

However, another poster claimed it worked great with MTDEV, but didn't mention the build used.

Guess it's about time I took one for the team. I'll go ahead and flash, mess with the build.prop and see what happens.

EDIT: The guys who discovered the disable CPU render tweak claim that there's a "soft rendering" path that they edit out from the build.prop file. The flashable zip basically just automatically does this.

They have instructions here dealing with the manual version of this mod.

build.prop edits: try out this build.prop tweak, it speeds things up a bit more.

Open build.prop and add the following
change dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=m=y TO
dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=m=y,o=v,u=y
then save

EDIT2: Here's the flashable ZIP. But VM670 is the Optimus V. It's not clear whether or not the flashable ZIP is compatible with the Triumph. I'll stick with the manual edit.

It's not a virus and our device is not affected, regardless of the MEID dialer code working.
Do a search for Sprint dialer codes. Most work on our stock ROM... hardly any work on Cm7.
The Samsung factory reset code does not do anything on our device. Relax. :D

That "exploit test" verifies whether or not USSD codes can be entered via the http "tel" tag.
The code it dials is: *#06#
to display your MEID. You can enter it with your dialer.

I am using the Disable CPU Rendering mod which is: the build.prop modifications, the new egl.cfg and the removing of one of the lib_android . I did this since 2 weeks with each one of the the newest CM7 MTDEV roms as soon as they appear. I am Overclocked at 1.7 GHz (ondemand) and my Triumph is a iPhone 5 killer. I have absolutely no problems when I apply the Disable CPU Rendering mod and never had lags or any reboots.
I use it 3 days + 3 nights without any charge (chinese battery 2000mah).

I've been using that too, also manually entered... haven't tried the flash.
Anyway, I had great anticipation of some performance increase, but have seen none.
Hasn't caused any harm, though.

I couldn't find any info on the lib_android removal you speak of. Could you elaborate on this? Thanks! :)

I replaced the egl file, and changed the build.prob, but you make it sound like there's another step that I'm missing....

Delete (I just renamed) libGLES_android.so
I don't believe that it's necessary, once reference to it is removed, by deleting the first line of egl.cfg
