Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM9 build 20130120 [BETA]

Sorry double post but have you tried the process suggested by jfinnigan about the carrier change? The zip along with DroidEdit worked great for me. :)

Eh, it will be built in soon. That way you would have less to do when you flash the next one.:)

Awesome. I always change the carrier, and missed doing that coming from MIUI. The DroidEdit app was a nice little learning experience nonetheless :)

I think it will be in the next build. Maybe? I still am not sure what may have been changed with the new menu. If I get time, I'll load the two ROMs and look around.

Wow Man Thank You...Seens I Dont have anything to do this weekend...would it be okay if i too test it out? All i am doing this weekend is :smokingsomb:

I built this with the custom carrier text added in.
Let me know if I goofed up somewhere.

Enjoy!

Well I have been Testing it seens last night and it has been running just fine...But there is still one place where it needs to chang the Carrier name..which is the lock screen...It has virgin Mobile showing under the lock...if you could add a way too chang that one too...then i think we have complete.

Hmmm. I wonder where that's parsed?

I have not had any problems, however most calls I answer are through bluetooth.

Do you know how to run ABD? With that you could have it on you screen and if you loose the phone, the screen is thill there.

I can tell you, diagnostics by third party can suck.
Has he tried another ROM? If it works under that ROM, does a clean flash work?

I noticed the phone suffers some similar issues to CM7, where you might be in app and hitting the home button does nothing, until you press it like 30 times and it vibrates angrily then goes to the home screen.

Jag,

When the hard buttons misbehave the best route is to rotate the phone from portrait to landscape and back. Also some times by gripping the sides on the bottom of the phone helps. Sadly this is a hardware problem as it also occurs on all ROM's be is Stock or Rooted.

He was on cm7 before. But that was a while ago. The phone didn't have service for a while. I couldn't test calling before everything was done. He opted to use triumph again. Found it didn't answer calls.

I wiped again manually. Double. Reflashed clean with the gapps. Got same. Although it worked once he said.

He might have a hardware problem. I doubt it has a setting problem in the radio. He would have to flash back to stock for that to be tested. I think Thangfish posted the codes to get the cell radio to respond. Stuff like ##VM##.

Does anyone else have problems connecting to a Bluetooth device on the first try? Also, is there a cm9 setting that allows alarms to sound over the speakers even with headphones connected?

I ran this ROM for a few weeks and never had any Bluetooth issues at all and I use Bluetooth quite a lot listening to music and podcasts over a stereo Bluetooth headset. The only thing is that I was using the 9/4 version at the time so possibly something has changed.

Bluetooth is a hit or miss on the current version. I have since gone back and fixed the permissions for the kernel but but have not pushed out a new release. My replacement Triumph should be in tonight so I can get back to coding, and have a new release soon enough.

He flashed cm7 and his incoming calls work fine. Flash cm9 and same. Leads to a hard reboot when answering calls. Recently updated his recovery as well just to make sure the older version wasn't causing problems.

Any advice on how to figure out the problem here?

Have you tried re-downloading the CM9 rom or are you just flashing the same zip each time? and if so does the MD5 match? could be an error with the download just a thought

Yeah, duh. That's one of my normal first responces. I can't beleive I didn't say that before.

Thanks. I also use a Bluetooth stereo headset on a daily basis, and using the most recent version, I usually have to reboot the headset at least one time before it auto connects. Sometimes it drops connection, but most of the time it is stable. Glad to hear an update will fix this soon. Always eager for updates!
