Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM9 build 20130120 [BETA]

Thanks for the advice, I will try removing the battery saver and see if that makes any difference.

I did a full wipe when I installed, but will probably wait until the next release to do another. Browser sync would be nice, but it's not killer for me. Everything else works so well, I hardly notice it! :)

I even tried to install anycut to get into diag mode to write the MDN n MIN myself through workshop but there was no option to select the comport option.

Cm7 seemed to b eating the battery fast
turned frequencies down. Not running
anyapp killers. Turn wify off

∙ Removed GoogleNow
∙ Added com.google.android.media.effects
∙ Added in Cherry GPS files
∙ Added in Sharp sensor file
∙ Fixed Wifi Tether

First and foremost I removed GoogleNow as the Voice Dialer did not work over Bluetooth. Since our ROM's are about keeping them as simplistic as possible you can install what ever you like as the ROM is now down to 110MB so GoogleNow will work. I added in com.google.android.media.effects which helps with the overall performance of the ROM it is much more smooth than before. In updating the Cherry GPS I was able to get a lock in under 1 minute being out side. There was also some changes to the GPS code TickerGuy wrote as I corrected our AMSS version to be 6225 based on our Kernel. The sensor file should resolve the blasted black screen when some one hangs up on you. Also WiFi Tether should now be working but I need some testing done.

The Camera is still not working but something I am still working on. Just based on all the builds I have been doing as of late I decided to add in more fixes for multiple things. Hopefully our next release will have a working Camera :D

Enjoy!

Either use GoSMS or HandCent. GoSMS is based on HandCent but has since been vastly improved, as HandCent is now abandoned. Dunno if this is EXACTLY what you're looking for, but it has a popup showing all your texts that is centered on the screen, and you can toggle it on and off, and where it shows up at.

I'm having wifi issues too.

If only Android Forums had a multiple thanks button!! (thanks X 16,000)

Hello G06! Great work by the way. Can you please link in the first post an easy way to install Google now?

I have gone on XDA and tried flashing the zip and deciding whether I needed the online of offline version and it deleted the google search app.

I am also having trouble installing the Jellybean 4.2 keyboard. Did anyone else have any luck? It installs but it doesn't work.

You want to use the offline version, that link will offer a link to GoogleNow commands also. I would recommend installing the ROM, GoogleNow, and then GoogleApps

I'm still using the 10/28 build and im having wifi issues after doing multiple complete wipes.

i use an app called llama to change settings based on what cell towers im connected to. in every mtdev cm9 build ive tried, the Wi-Fi is broken once i get home (llama disables mobile data and turns on Wi-Fi once i get home, when i leave home mobile data is enabled and Wi-Fi is disabled, sync is done the same as mobile). i have to go to airplane and back to get Wi-Fi to find any Wi-Fi ssid after i get home. i have disabled the app and am going to use standard cm9 profiles, will report back.

G60 thanks for the awesome work your doing on this rom. I'm currently using the 10/28/2012version and I like the Google now, would like to upgrade to the newer version 11/12/2012, I see that you removed Google now from that version, is there a way that I download and install Google now with the newer version?

Check a few posts up :) I have a link for it, and also the way to install it. ROM, GoogeNow, and then GAPPS

Here's a link to a video on YouTube of my MT running MTDEV-CM9. The video recorder app (screencast) hogs some resources, so this is not a good representation of how smooth the ROM is. The video fails to pick up the transparent status bar, which was way cool. I was getting some favorable 3G speeds with this ROM (5-10x as fast!!). Definitely liking this ICS Project. The launcher shown is stock. Obviously, resizable data widgets are the big news with CM-9; I failed to show this well.

Back to CM7 once again while I patiently wait; Nice work gentlemen.

I have a question for g60, if I build from your sources that I got from the camera update read me post will I get your most up to date changes. Thanx for the hard work.

Yeah everything in the WIP Camera Thread is currently in this ROM. My sources are basically 95-100% up to date. As I make progress I push backup to github. So your welcome to take a crack at it. Basically everything is working, we just need to resolve the SIGSEGV error and the camera should work.

i updated to the latest from the one before and now i get the black screen when pulling my face away from the phone while its in a call. It does benefit from the gps fix, but the google My tracks app is now incompatible even though i used it in the previous build.
