Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM9 build 20130120 [BETA]

i updated to the latest from the one before and now i get the black screen when pulling my face away from the phone while its in a call. It does benefit from the gps fix, but the google My tracks app is now incompatible even though i used it in the previous build.

I am working on the screen issues. I tried a patch and it's instant now but the hard buttons flicker while on the call. Also I fixed the Auto Brightness to be instant like CM7. I will try and get another release out today with the fix in it. Still working on the Camera with Dorreygary! He is a monster coder

Folks,
Thanks for all the effort in creating this. I installed this on my MT phone but I keep getting 3G/Wireless signal issues/lack of connection. The only way to get a connection is by rebooting. I read through this thread and my understanding is that this issue is resolved.
Do you have any thoughts on what else to try to fix this?
Thanks,
Deepak

I'm still using the 10/28 build and im having wifi issues after doing multiple complete wipes.

i use an app called llama to change settings based on what cell towers im connected to. in every mtdev cm9 build ive tried, the Wi-Fi is broken once i get home (llama disables mobile data and turns on Wi-Fi once i get home, when i leave home mobile data is enabled and Wi-Fi is disabled, sync is done the same as mobile). i have to go to airplane and back to get Wi-Fi to find any Wi-Fi ssid after i get home. i have disabled the app and am going to use standard cm9 profiles, will report back.

i have the same problems using profiles, when i got to work today i was roaming... pfff

It seems the report syncing has brought us new features and fixes. Thank you! Unfortunately it has also opened up a Pandora's box of issues. I've noticed more random rebooting as of late. And I just formatted my SD card. g60, should I try and look into what's causing this? Also, you may want to remove the CyanogenMod OTA updater. All it does is force close. As for the rebooting, is there any way I can find the cause of it?

I have had no issues with reboots at all. I would recommend normal stuff wipe reload install one app at a time.

I flashed this one and used titanium to restore the apps and everything was locking and freezing so I just restored to the 10/28 because I didn't feel like manually installing all my apps. I have no luck with app backups, but if I do fresh installs everything usually works fine

No clue everything is working fine for me?!?!? Been using the ROM all day watched Netflix, Pandora streaming, chess.com and words with friends. Bluetooth phone calls and WiFi all day. I would recommend a full wipe and reload and app by app. I'll release another version later tonight with some more fixes.

Same here...working perfectly for me...even forgot to turn off wifi at the start of a 16 hour workday and still at 60 % battery... solid stuff ...no more black screen! Gotta love it

I'm sure the Rom is fine, just don't have the time tonight for a app by app install. It's cool tho since this thing is so smooth anyway. It's so nice I left my precious cam for it, lol. I really appreciate all you do

∙ Updated libaudioalsa.so from Cherry
∙ Added MM bin files
∙ Tweaked light sensor to be instant
∙ Updated include folder to be based on mantera
∙ Updated memory settings from ics_chocolate kernel

So the first add is the Cherry libaudialsa.so I looked at our Froyo, Sharp GB, and Cherry GB and I am really not sure where this file came from but it's not from Cherry. I added back in the MM bin files to see if it would help the camera but no change. The light sensor is now instant and the two test calls I made worked perfect with proximity sensor. I rolled back our include files (I am not sure about these). And finally I took settings from the ics_chocolate arch/arm/mach-msm/board-msm7x30.c file and applied them to our board. This has seemed to help with overall performance and it doesn't seem to pop as hard when you have the headset plugged in and turn on and off the screen. There is still a very slight delay but not like before.

At this point I think this as far as this ROM is going to get in terms of quality until we can make a break on the camera, hdmi, and or kernel.

The libaudioasa.so might be built along the way. I ran into something like that with the CAF GB ROM I'm playing with.

Just a couple of questions, is the audio fix built in already?

and does anyone know if progress has been made on porting the new google now to cm9?

Is it possible to have the Cyanogenmod Renderfx in CM9 on the triumph or does it not run on CM9.

Which Renderfx?

Yes, it's not perfect as the sound has never been perfect since Froyo but it seems not to click as much on the screen with head phones, also I was able to clear so more errors out of the ADB log.

The system partition was running out of space on my phone when I flashed the latest ROM, GAPPs, Google Now, and Supersu and tried to run AdAway. g60madman, could you increase the space of the system partition by about 5 MB? Or instruct me how I can partition my phone. Thanks! :)

I think you can remove all unwanted ringtones, wallpapers and some apps from the rom zip and/or gapps zip and then try to flash it.
I removed all livewallpapers, most of the ringtones, email, news widgets apps, I even got rid of the Camera.apk and Torch.apk, they are not working anyway, I thined it down to under 100mb.

That was something that g60 and I were disscussing before he started the [WIP]. We could steal the space from the /hidden partitions or whatever. I like what Izzard said about removing the unused ringtones and bootanimation. That willfree up some space. And you could move them to areas of /data. Also, if you wanted, you could move some of the apps to /data/app. Things like calculator should work fine. Obviously you can't do things like move phone, mms or contacts apps as they need to be in /system/apps to work. If anybody decides to move things around, clear the cache during your reboot (without the reboot the apps will dissapear from the app tray) and report back so everyone know what works (yes report that nothing broke) and what doesn't.

Did you install the Offline version or the Online version of GoogleNow? The version I included in the ROM originally was Offline and should leave you with about 20MB and or so.

is it maybe possible to incorporate a2sd for dalvik like in arearom for lg optimus q.....androidarea51.com/arearomq-releases/(rom)-arearomq-v2-1-1106/.....
