Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM9 build 20130120 [BETA]

@DATNEXUS. yeah on stock
Rom i get 12hr bat life
on cm7 i only get 2 hr
My fone will only charge on
When connected to cpu usb
When using wall charger
Red indicator works but
Actually drains the battery

@last 2posts.... Something is way off, not wiped completely, app has gone rogue, etc. My battery runs a good 8 to 10 hrs on this rom, when on cm7 I think it ran 7 to 9 hrs. Thanks G60 and team!
Also Wi-Fi I leave on... always.

Whenever I put WiFi on in the 10/28 build, I believe it was, I got an mmc0 , mmc1, and mmc2 wakelock until I rebooted and turned off wifi. Has that been fixed?

Just a heads up but when I flashed the 11/13 version then Google Now and finally gapps my Home key would give haptic feedback but not function properly. Re-flashed to the same results. Works fine without Google Now, and Now worked perfectly with voice etc. has anyone else had this issue or might I just have a bad .zip?
It's not just you, I got the same results which I described in my earlier post here. I did some more investigating as follows:

  • G60, your 10/28 build appears to contain the online version of google now not the offline. The offline is much larger because it contains the language files needed to do offline dictation. The way to tell is the size of the \system\usr\srec\en-US folder which is 2.5 MB for online, and 32 MB for offline.

  • Working on my hunch that lack of free space in the system partition is the issue, I started with a clean install of the 11/13 ROM and Gapps and then deleted various unneeded things like facelock files, live wallpapers, some ringtones, and foreign language files for keyboard and TTS. Doing that I was able to increase free space in the system partition from 6 MB to 42 MB.

I then flashed the Online version of Now and was left with 24 MB free.

For comparison I flashed the offline version with the same setup and was left with 0 MB free (this isn't too surprising as the instructions for the GoogleNow packages note that you must have 60 MB free for the Online, and 30 MB for the offline)

  • After I realized that the 10/28 ROM was using the smaller Online version of GoogleNow, I tried flashing the 11/13 ROM, the Online version, and then Gapps in the order that G60 had suggested. I ended up with 2.2 MB free. GoogleNow seemed to work, but I was having issues like card settings not sticking, and I was getting notifications about Google sign in errors.

  • For now I'm going back to the online version installed on top of the 11/13 ROM after I've freed up the extra space.

I am not too familiar with Android development so I was kind of surprised that you can flash these various packages without any notification that the partition has run out of room.

I know one of you guys will know where this is; someone came up with a quick easy flash back to stock rom, but i'm not getting anywhere looking for it.

I love the ROM!! I have been running it for quite a while now and its super smooth. Only problems I have ran in to is the ringtone selection in some 3rd party apps will freeze the phone. Someone said it wasn't like that on the 12 build so maybe it is the kernel mem changes.

Other than that I wanted to point out the battery usage stats don't work. And so far the ROM runs smooth for the most part. I have some freezing and apps not responding occasionally but its usually with like 10 tabs open on boat browser lol! I'm trying to dial in the lowmemkller settings to help keep mem free but not killed of apps to much!

Gotta say g60 you are making great things here!!

I'm not quite sure whats causing the problem. I have full wipe/flashed about 3 times already. Is this a common thing or should I go ahead and flash back to stock so I can see if it's a hardware thing?

Agreed...awesome rom... same small issues here...better battery stats can't even pull logs for battery...any idea what may have caused this?battery stats are the only issue that bothers me in the least

I wonder if the battery stats were moved between GB and ICS. Either in the kernel of the framework. If I knew where the stats were pulled from I could look into it. I think it's the kernel as that's where a lot of the wake locks are called from.

Does your wifi work on other ROMs? And have you checked the checksum of the file you downloaded? If you have a bad download, then you will have a bad flash. I know the ROM had to be rebooted before the wifi would work in earlier randitions. I think that may have been fixed at a point, though.

Phone call end: When I take phone away from my head the sensor does not pick this up, phone remains black. Clicking power will restore view. If phone call is long enough, screen will lock and unlock will not work. Only way out is to convince other party to hang up. Doses not work with a telemarketer, thus had to reboot phone to end call.
Blue Tooth: Will not pare with any device.
Notifications: Although notifications appear to be in full working order they seem to be not passing context over to other launched applications. Best example of this is SMS, as it shows a message came in but when choosing it, you get the SMS application, but it's normal start context. In CM7 it would display the message received directly.

Well restoring CM7 until next version of CM9 is out to bang on!
Keep up all the good work, it's almost ready for prime time!

I have not had problems with any of these features... check build.prop for mot.proximity.delay=25
ro.lge.proximity.delay=25...you can change to 0 or keep at 25...if they are not there edit with root explorer...should fix black screen...as for Bluetooth I have had instant discovery and pairing with all my devices...may try full wipe and reflash...same to maybe fix SMS/ notifications...hopefully this helps...so far I have found this to be the most functional CM9 yet...good luck

Sorry that this ROM is not working well for you. However, I just used bluetooth with a paired device on Friday. Works for me.

For most people this ROM seems to be working fine, but there seems to be a handful of people who are having a lot of issues. In theory, with a complete wipe, everyone should be starting off the same - at least until they start restoring apps and data.

It seems like there must be some cause for the differences between those who are having success and those who aren't. Speculating as to possible causes: (1) CWM is not wiping all data, (2) incompatible rooting method, (3) migrating from CM7 vs updating from CM9.

I get like 26-27 hours wifi on 42-48 hours wifi off...but I have a lot of tweaks
