Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM9 build 20130120 [BETA]

not only does data work, my 3g had been broken for nearly a month, vm was little help, though they tried. the new tester knocked it back into working order. that's my story and i'm sticking to it.
i just went to shoot a video, and that was my only reminder that it's not finished yet. excellent work!

But still photography works? How's GPS/navigation? If those two are set, I may well decide it's time to upgrade from CM7.

I still haven't touched the memory issues yet. That's working it's way up. And I haven't even tried to see if it's just a lack of memory or a memory leak.

anyone notice focus is no longer working in the 3/16 test rom or is it just in my end. good thing i made a back up just in case.

I haven't noticed that before. Now that you mention it I think I remember it being mentioned by adamto. If I get time I'll look back at the previous posts in the WIP thread and see what I can.

Thanks man =) just glad to see this rom is alive and well thanks to you and everyone who have helped with Updating our good'ol triumphs

Hey, i cant seem to get my data working on this ROM, i tried to turn on and off airplane mode but that helped none. I also restarted my phone a trillion times. Please Help!

Are you getting the R indicator? If so, and it keeps coming back, you may need to reformat and start again. Pay attention when you restore your programs that you don't restore settings. Also, don't do the Fix permissions thing in Clockworkmod. If it's not the R thing then ignore all the above.

It's not something simple like the Data Enabled checkbox not clicked is it? Under Networks, More, Mobile Networks.

I believe the focus is actually working, but the little square is always red for some reason. There are auto focus messages if you look in the log, and you can clearly see the camera adjusting focus in the preview display.

Now, I haven't yet tried the 3/16 tester, but this is my own build from 3/14, from when we were having some build issues. I doubt the 3/16 is different in this regard but it could be.

Hi all,
I just tried the tester ROM and so far it's been great!
I can verify that GPS does work.
Camera takes pics! :) No video.
Wi-Fi works.
3G Data works.

Great work!

Trying to compile a comprehensive bug list:

-GPS/Navigation works for the first boot, seems to permanently stop working after first reboot.

-Camera app hangs if you try to switch to front,

-(possible?) memory leakage

-battery usage data not available in settings (might just be my phone)

-hardkeys are tempermental at times. After trying to open the navigation app, haptic feedback seems to stop untill reboot.

OK, I'm running the build with a couple of changes. One is the camera is back to the original code. That should allow the camera to focus. Also, I changed the part in the wifi settings to say the sleep policy is for sleep policy instead of something that sounds like the reverse.

EDIT: On it's way.

I found the battery stats in settings under the device/battery.
The camera issue is known.
I suspect there is memory leakage, I don't know if I am capable enough to fix any memory leakage.
Aaaaand I'm testing the navigation after reboot now. Seems to work for me.

What build are you using? because i still can't get navigation working.

The same one I posted. When I get home I can double check the checksum, but it went on my phone, ran throught a couple of test, then posted it.

strange, maybe it has somthing to do with restoring apps from titanium backup. That's about all I could see as conflicting, because I have flashed this rom 3(?) times and navigation hasn't worked on any of them.

EDIT: cleared map's data, uninstalled, and reinstalled from the play store. That seemed to work.

Make a backup as though you're going to wipe, try and just flash over (I normally do my gapps too - but I don't know if that's necessary), then if it doesn't work you can reflash again after wiping. I installed it over my current CM9 without problems.

Okay, so can I just flash this over my current CM9 build, or must I wipe?

When you flash a ROM you format /system, and gapps go into /system mostly. So you would have to do both. I would flash fresh.
