As long as the CWM supports ext4 you are fine (you should have that if you have CM7).

You will need to wipe /system /data etc. and then flash MIUI. Just follow the instructions listen in the first few posts.

I booted into CWM and "only" installed the new ROM. No format etc. Phone bootedd into the new ROM and, so far, no issues :)

As long as it is the same ROM that usually doesn't cause issues. Sometimes it will, and you just have to wipe clean and reflash. Same thing when switching to a different ROM.
 
Anyone else having problems with SMS and voicemail? I have COMPLETELY wiped and reloaded this ROM twice now and my SMS is very delayed. This last time my voice mail didn't come through for 3 days and I received about 20 texts all at once after not getting any for a few days. I think it might have to do with me not making a phone call for about 3 days after I flashed. Once I got off the call everything came through but messages were still delayed. I don't have this problem with CM7. Any ideas?

Even though this feature probably has been in the rom for some time, I just noticed it.

Before I flash miui (been using tickerguy's cm7), how does it work? Is it built-in to the dialer, or do I need to download a separate apk?

its build into the dialer... i havent ran miui for awhile so i dont know where. try pressing the menu key while in the dialer and you should find something. (i gona flash miui in a couple minutes anyway, so if you cant find it i will find it for you :D )

Wonder what was the trick (kernel changes?) to get this to work in miui?
edit: if it is built-in to miui dialer, might make it difficult to port to cm7 (who knows).

I found a post where tickerguy said he didn't know what was needed in the kernel for cm7.

I live in a place exactly the same, no service, but I have a special window I can make calls and send and receive txt easily...but it sucks staying by z window all nite ...

THIZ post was originally created to say I just flashed miui about an hour ago from cm7 and I must say it is extremely smooth compared to cm7 and very nice work on this rom, it kills me the garden of weeden cannot be installed ...my favorite paid app
 
I'm trying to see if there are any major changes in MIUI 1.12.16 from Ideos x6 and I get status 7. What do I need to change?

EDIT: This what I get

just replace that line in the build prop, with the identical line from our miui build prop. and it will flash
 
So now that I'm doing a lockscreen theme for 1.11.25, it would seem like sms counts were broken on this version of the MIUI manifest for anything other than default lock style (they were fine on 11.4). I've tested more than a few other themes from the XDA ls thread and none of the sms counts seem to be working. Can someone confirm this for me?

edit - confirmed over here Anyone found some way around it, or any further dev for MIUI on the radar?

Is there an option that maybe I'm missing to change your text message wallpapers? My theme doesn't have one and I really don't want to download gosms again....
 
I am having only minor issues with my install but I wish there would be someone to pick up the effort especially as far along as we are. I hope we are just waiting for ICS for new ROMS but it may be wishful thinking unless someone who has a Triumph, the skill and desire feels the calling.

I understan Isaac's position but if he gets a new Triumph maybe he will keep alive the effort until someone shows up.

The background of the sms interface is part of the theme - some themes contain sms theme components, others do not. If you are fond of the styling of a particular theme and would simply like to change the background, you can edit a theme fairly easily and put in whatever background you want, depending on whether you're using bubble or list style. The images are
Theme.mtz/com.android.mms/res/drawable-hdpi/conversation_list_titled_bg.png (bubble style background)
or
Theme.mtz/com.android.mms/res/drawable-hdpi/list_item_list_titled_bg.png (list style background)
and
Theme.mtz/com.android.mms/res/drawable-hdpi/window_background_texture.png (for the preview list pane when you open the main mms app)

I'm having no real problems with this rom or cm7 I've used wifi, tethering, loads of gps, (using it atm) ringtone does not change to what's specified tho I noticed that

if you go into music player and long press the song you want to use. you will get an option to set as ringtone. if you set your ringtone this way it will stick. for some reason or other trying to to set in miui settings never works for me either. i believe isaac87 mentioned this in a previous post. btw, which rom do you like better miui or cm7?
 
So I just updated from 11.14 to 11.25 and holly crap the touchscreen driver difference is INSANE!!!! I can actually play air control now. Way to go Issac!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I've got a weird bug that when I take a picture using the flash the phone reboots. Is this a known issue? I didn't see it noted on the first post. I had this with 11.14 and still have it with 11.25
 
nvm. the rom wont install it keeps saying installation aborted when i try to does anyone know what the problem would be? this is my first time doing this

Cm7 has an app drawer, now all I have is a folder, but I like this Rom better most def, simple but inside it's more complex in it's functions, I do miss the hold power and reboot into recovery menu
