Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

Thank you sarcasm, rockin it. No oc! That's what didn't hit me, I like the option, but he's done such a nice job with this rom you don't much need it. Just makes you wonder sumtimes.

Registered so I could post a bit of feedback on this lol

I love it...but there's a few potential deal-breakers I'm seeing. I'm definitely not a phone expert so feel free to correct me or give me some advice on how to correct these things in case I'm missing something lol

But here goes :

Battery life seems to be horrendus vs stock 2.2....

I charged it to 100% and 2-3 hours later I was down below 50% battery...and that's just checking email and facebook (and sending literally 4 sms messages to a friend) via 3G. I turned all of the animations off.

Battery calibrator doesn't seem to have helped either.

The other thing I'm noticing is that it's acting like it doesn't want to auto-sync my email or facebook...

It's a shame really because the whole system is gorgeous compared to froyo and much more responsive...but I need my phone to last me more than 6 hours without having to be charged...

I might flash TickerGuy's CM7 and see if the battery life is any better there...if not then I will, reluctantly but out of necessity, go back to stock Froyo.

Try booting into recovery after making a nandroid backup, wiping battery stats, re-flash ROM, then restoring. I had the same issues and this "seemed" to fix it. And I agree, it is very beautiful...

Ok I will definitely try that. I don't want to have to go back to Froyo if I can avoid it :-P

I think (unless I'm mistaken), "battery calibrator" already deleted the batterystats.img thing though...

EDIT: Well it didn't work lol still losing 2-4% every 20-30 minutes. Wiping and then restoring the stock image (from the nandroid backup I made pre-MIUI install lol) for now. I'll give TG-CM7 a test run tomorrow when I have more time. I'm sad to see Froyo again...it's like the ugly step-cousin that nobody wants to be around....

I love miui to its great. They only problem I have is it uses so much ram. Sometimes games will freeze up during game play. Even using speed demon kernel. I love the setup just 2.2 runs games alot better. Unless someone knows something that can help with that

I've got a weird bug that when I take a picture using the flash the phone reboots. Is this a known issue? I didn't see it noted on the first post. I had this with 11.14 and still have it with 11.25

This will be the third time I've posted about this problem and no one has responded. Has anyone experienced this? If I don't get a response, I'm just going to make a new thread.

I would say that if no one has responded, it probably means that no one has that issue or a fix.
Have you tried a fresh install?

I have now and then with the previus version, but haven't with the latest, but haven't taken that many pictures... ;)

Everytime I go to download anything from the market it says I need wifi to download a file this size, with everything not big apps but I've NEVER seen this message before in my life. Does it have anything to do with the ROM?

Just thought I'd post an update...After the horrible battery life I was getting with this rom (mentioned above) I went back to Froyo....I hated it so much that I decided I'd give TickerGuy's CM7 08 a try.

Battery life is slightly better (in my experience) immediately on CM7. But I put "2x Battery" on to hopefully help it a bit wherever possible. Then I decided to load Go Launcher EX, Go SMS, and a Honeycomb theme lol And noticed that the battery life actually IMPROVED after making those the default launcher/sms apps.

So after all of this, I charged the battery all the way to 100% (I let it charge for an hour after it hit 100% just to be sure it was full) and ran "Battery Calibration". So far, under normal use and letting the phone sleep when I'm not using it (eg not turning the screen on just to look at the pretty colors lol) the battery has only dropped to 83% after 6 hours of being off the charger.

I'm no expert, but I'd call that a massive improvement...

Most themes' boots are fine, but black ice, ICS for MIUI, and Blue Dado all caused loops for me. Just for your reference, you shouldn't need to do a full nandroid restore - flashing your existing version of the ROM (no reset) over the top in recovery should be enough.

My gf was digging through themes and apparently did this by accident. When I came to bed, I saw her phone in a boot loop. I've tried wiping cache, and flashing rom over itself again via recovery. Still stuck in a boot loop due to boot animation from theme.

ARGH!

Any way to get out of this without factory restore???

Don't do a factory restore when you have a custom ROM. If you flash the ROM from recovery mode it should work. Do you have a nano backup of the current? If you can't get it working by flashing over you can do that. Don't use the backup from inside miui that will give you a boot loop.

Go to the "Downloads" app and hit the toggle on the bottom. Or check your Market settings.

As a follow up (I thought I hit submit, but it was 3 am), I found out how to resolve this.

Do it at your own risk. My very own restore said that it failed, but seemed to be in perfect working order.

1. Get 7-zip

2. Get moto drivers http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/415058-extracted-triumph-adb-drivers.html

3. Get ADB and fastboot (mini install) How To: Install ADB and Fastboot on your Windows computer for use with your Android phone | Android Articles | dotTech

4. With the phone hooked up and in recovery mode, you can browse to where the bootanimation.zip file is at, replace it with a good one, and then re-md5 it by doing this: [How To] Fix md5 mismatch nandroid restore - xda-developers

I may get a bit more detailed if people need it, but honestly, if you are unfamiliar with the steps I've outlined above, you may not want to be messing around with it, and just do a factory reset (this WILL fix it). For me the file was located here:

data.ext3.tar\data\system\theme\boots

Even after the restore, I still went into MIUI and had to change the bootanimation theme to default away from the one that was loaded that caused the boot loop. YMMV.

Inspiration was here:

No issues and haven't heard of that issue
:DThe thing that worked for me was:
After the theme was installed, download "Boot Animation Changer" from the market, install and pick a new boot anim.
After the new anim. is installed, go to the MIUI theme in settings, click on 'edit theme', scroll down to BOOT ANIMATION, and select "Default".
That way the custom one you installed from Boot anim. changer will be the default, and not the MIUI theme.
Hope this helps, as it took me a couple days to figure out why I was stuck in bootloop!:D

I have red neon theme, boot animation included, no boot loops from boot animation.
Thats exactly what I thought with the Black Ice 2.3 theme...It came with a boot animation but some of them are 'oddball' themes that cause the phone to get stuck in a bootloop........

Is there any one who can update this to the latest build? I know there probably is no real reason to but I just like knowing we have the latest up to date stuff.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM! And to be honest, that's the only reason why I switched back to CM7 (I could never figure out why it would bootloop!)

I can finally have my ICS fix on MIUI! (I actually hated stock MIUI theme, but MIUI as a whole is awesome!)
