Root [ROM][PORT] Sharp ROM 2.2.2 for the Triumph (Updated: 12/16/12)

I had another issue this morning. I went to turn on the phone from sleep mode. and nothing. I thought that's weird, well maybe the battery drained over night. Except it was on the charger all night. I went to plug the charger in, and no LED. Now that was really odd. So I did a battery pull and tried it again then it powers up and runs fine. Its like it was in an ultra deep sleep. Any ideas?
Sorry, I know I messed some stuff up in Ver3 and Ver4. I have never had those issues. All I can really tell you is, it may be Ver4, it may be an app, or it could even be a hardware issue with these phones. I saw a post about four square making the phone reboot if wifi is not set to on all the time, and other than that I found that some apps use a call for last location and will not work until there has been a lock established through maps or some other app. Sorry I can't help more, if more people have these issues it will be easier to narrow down and figure out. Thanks for the feedback.

I had that sleep of death (SOD) problem when I had flashed ver 2 and it seemed to have got worse on ver 4. I did a fresh install of ver 2 then flashed ver 4 over it. The fresh install seems to have done the trick. I haven't had an SOD since then.

Every once in a while when I power off it will reboot back on. Not a big deal but if I want to shut the phone off, I'd like to know its gona stay off.

Another thing I'm having is my Sense Analog Clock widget doesn't work right. I set it up on my screen and it works fine till I reboot the phone. I'll show you with screen shots. Probably chalk this up to app compatibility.

Edit:
I'm on ver4

I couldn't get the sense clock to work on the sense rom. If worked the first day and then broke.

G60, sick CM7 build. I have been following your build. I just got my MT couple weeks ago and just installed the Sharp 2.2.2.

Would you say that your CM7 build has a better battery life compared to this? Just looking for the best battery life at the moment.

Hard to say. Since I never have a ROM installed more than 24-72 hours it's impossible for me to judge that. However I would think that it would be better since I would assume that both wifi and bt go into deep sleep.

Quick question: while searching any location in the browser and clicking on the map, browser opens maps.google.com. I think in stock rom it asks you what you want to do: browser or maps? and I always run it in maps. Anyone experiencing the same thing?

All of the issues that Ver3 and 4 had should be gone now. You can just install Ver5 or flash it over a fresh install of b_randons stock deodexed ROM to fix the *86 voicemail issue.

Okay thank you for the clarification! :) Oh and can you flash mantera's 1% battery mod and power widget mod over this?

No problem man. Just wanted to keep informed on what I'm seeing. No need to apauligize. You kicked same a** on this. I'll probably install ver5, but I'm probably gonna do the b_randon stock first to fix the *86.

Only thing I kinda miss is the front facing camera for google talk. Too bad froyo doesn't support it

I haven't done video conferencing yet, but my front facing camera works just fine. Unless you mean that Google talk does not support the front facing camera

i could be wrong, but if i remember correctly its the front camera thats the issue, back when i was doin some research i saw somewhere posted that the front and back cameras in our device are not the same

one is like a vga or something and i forget what the other is, but alot of the video chat things i had seen at the time didnt support whatever our front camera was, causeing incompatibility issues

i could be totally wrong but lasttime i looked this was what the problem was blamed on lol

Update: Just posted the updated GB theme, I named it V5 to avoid any confusion. There should be no problem doing a factory reset after this is flashed. Also, a factory reset will not remove the theme, just in case you were wondering.

Enjoy!

So do you just flash the GB themed over your ver5? Also, will factory reset work on your rom without the GB themed one?

Just flashed the Ver 5 over my ver 4 last night.

My battery life is still pretty bad. I am at 60% in 3 hours with very minor use on 3G. CPUSpy states that I am going to deep sleep. I don't know what else is draining my battery so much.

I started having the same issue. My "time without signal" is pretty high even though I have great reception. I'm thinking it might be a radio bug.

On a different phone I once had a problem where the wifi was constantly looking for an AP. The refresh rate was set too high and the battery would mysteriously drain. Maybe that is the problem here, but I can't find the setting in the build.prop to change it.

Yes, just flash the GB system theme over Ver5, and yes Ver5 has the fresh boot and reset issue taken care of. Factory reset works with GB system theme V5 also. There were things in the framework that were causing issues in Ver3 and Ver4. I will be updating the carrier mods as soon as I get some time. I figured a lot of people would want the GB look.

Thanks, keep the info coming so we can get to the bottom of it if more people are having this issue. Though I recommend not using Ver3 or Ver4 any more, and starting fresh to get rid of any of the bugs that may linger. You can use mybackup to backup and restore all of your downloaded apps and messages. It's a lot easier than starting from scratch.

Just so it's posted, I noticed a problem outside in direct sun. I had to turn off auto brightness so I could actually see the screen. When I stepped in the shade it was perfect though when turned on.

Ok thanks. I will get Ver5 on there soon. I'm just not real excited about downloading all my apps again. Man you should take a couple days off. You've been at this for a while.

Believe me, I am taking a few days off. I just can't stand a major flaw like that. I'm sure I will get bored and make some more MODs but as far as the ROM goes it will be a while before I try again from scratch. I need to wipe my computer and start that from scratch, it's just gotten too cluttered. Get mybackup root from the market and all you have to do is sit and wait instead of reinstalling everything.

You can try to clear the defaults for the browser. Settings--> Aplications--> manage aplications--> (all tab) browser, then look for Launch by default and clear it. If that's not there, install "Maps"

Thanks for all the feedback.

I just posted a bloat remover in the MOD section, I will expand it as more info is found. Any suggestions are welcome.

Another issue:

I have wifi set to sleep when the screen turns off, but wifi stays connected.
How do you know that wifi is still connected if the screen is off? Are you using an app? Which app? It takes a minute for the wifi to sleep, if you only have the screen off for a minute then it may not sleep.

Ok, so I did the dirty install to see if the *86 voicemail would be fixed. Cleared data and wiped cache. Installed b_randon deodexed stock rom. Booted and let it completely boot up. Installed ver5 (without clearing data and wiping cache). *86 still goes to VM tech support line. Did I do this right to make the *86 work?

I didn't wipe after the deodexed stock ROM, my voicemail works fine.
