Root [ROM][PORT] Sharp ROM 2.2.2 for the Triumph (Updated: 12/16/12)

I know, I'm a pain in the butt sometimes. :D The last 2 days I have woke up out of the blue at 4AM with ideas floating around. I need to mow the lawn, but I was making too much progress. !

Send me your address I'll stop over with a pizza and a lawnmower. :)

if your coming from a different rom and you restore all apps and data, im guessing system files are in there as well

in which case it is highly highly suggested to not restore system data or you'll end up running into errors that you shouldnt have and that noone except someone else who loaded old system files would even know about

You couldn't be more... correct!
I should have said backup the data for non-system apps. That should be safe enough.

Thankfully only a few people downloaded this before I caught it. There was an issue with root, specifically su. It will be back up in a second. Sorry to those that already grabbed it should be able to just flash over it,

OK, it's fixed now.

So...I tried accessing my voicemail today since flashing this ROM. My voicemail was completely swiped from my phone, and now whenever I try to access it, it calls VM directly. They have tried resetting it, but I am totally unable to access it.

Also my messaging occasionally disappears, and my messaging app get's FCs almost daily now.

This is a great ROM and all...just getting sketchier by the day, for me.

Ummm... it's been mentioned all over the place that in this ROM voicemail does not dial your number. Instead it dials *86.

You have to call you're own phone number to access voicemail.

As for the messaging, I haven't had any FCs in the 4 days of using it.

The voicemail dialing *86 can be fixed by starting with a "Dirty Install", it is mentioned in the OP. Other than that I have had no FCs from any of the system apps.

Thanks for the feedback.

Running Ver 6. All apps that FC'd before now work. Expect for voicemail *86 I can't find anything that doesn't work.

This is pure speculation but I think that because apps run so well on this phone the phone seems faster and smoother because there is less CPU overhead and more processor available when needed.

Also the battery seems to last longer because Juice defender reacts faster and more appropriately. Juice Defender shuts the radios down when the phone goes to sleep but when I start my phone I can see by the Juice Defender icon that all radios are off. Juice Defender reacts and turns them on in 5 seconds or less so they are available by the time I get to the app I want to use.

Anyway thanks again BSyds... The masked man is the MAN!

Come payday I will put my money where my mouth is and donate.

Couple of quick questions.

When I was backing my apps up with Titanium backup. I seen an app called [VOICEMAIL] Dialer 2.2.2. Is this a system app related to the what number it dials for voicemail? If so, can't this be edited and change what number it dials? Like change it to dial your phone number instead of *86.

Also, how do you backup your launcher? Is it in Titanium backup?

1. The dialer is just phone.apk, and I've tried it, it doesn't work. I think it is in the framework. I am gonna wipe partitions one at a time to see which one it is being stored in.
2. Dunno about backing it up, there are dependencies in a few folders and maybe framework. Unless you just mean settings, then Titanium Backup should be able to do that.

Edit: I wiped cache and Dalvik cache and the voicemail still dials my number, with a dirty install. So it must be in data.

Does this mean that the updated maps won't work with ver6?
No, it just means that there will be an update in the play store. When I released the original, a few hours later they updated maps, so I added the updated maps in this release. Then while I was setting up my new Ver6 setup, they released a new updated maps. Crazy how things go sometimes.

Before flashing a new ROM, first backup your "apps and data" (I use Titainium Backup but there are others), then backup your launcher (from the launcher settings menu) and third backup the whole thing (Nandroid Backup).

How do you get to the launcher settings menu?

Nevermind I found it. I backed up sharp launcher from titanium backup.

Great job on version 6. So glad to have all my GPS related apps working again. I want to try the gingerbread theme. If I don't like it, to remove it, do I just reflash v6? Thanks B.

Yes, you can just reflash Ver6. I will post MODs to reverse all of the MODs. I'm not sure if the thunder.prop does anything for this ROM, can't seem to find any difference in the apps available. I could be wrong, though.

Help! I still haven't found it. Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

Open Titanium Backup then select Backup/Restore at the top. You should see a list of apps. Scroll down till you see Sharp Launcher 1.0.9.4. Thats your launcher. Make sure you have system apps checked in settings so it shows the system apps too. It works beautifully. You'll have to reboot after the restore and you'll have to put your widgets back on your home screen, but the settings of those widgets stay the same. It does save any folders or app shortcuts you had.

I installed v6 over my clean v5. All the FC's I had are gone, but Satellite AR still can't find my location even though I have both Network and GPS location turned on. I tried setting the app to use GPS and also tried setting it to use network, and it still says "Unknown location", and says to enable the settings in the phone, which are already all enabled.

Also, even though I have Network Location enabled, Gas Buddy wouldn't detect my location until I went to where I could get a GPS signal, so the phone doesn't seem to be providing WiFi location service.
