Root [ROM][PORT] Sharp ROM 2.2.2 for the Triumph (Updated: 12/16/12)

i downloaded it 4 times now and everytime i try to install it it says error parsing package any ideas where i can get a download that works

You cant install...you have to place in system apps with a root browser and give it system permissions to run and reboot...if you have never done this before be carefull what you mess with in the aystem folder...but once you restart the phone it will show in your app drawer

Don't know if its me, but the BSydz Sharp 2.2 Ver7 Sharp 2.35 build.prop didn't work. Still shows as 2.2.2. under phone info. Used EZ file Explorer editor and still shows 2.2.2 as well. Anyone have an answer?

What's up guys, I just finished building a new kernel. I need this thing thoroughly tested. I have it running on both my phones, just need some feedback. I updated everything from the touchscreen drivers to the wimax drivers and tons of stuff in between. Let me know how everything is working, or not working.

Sharp Ver8 Kernel test 6.zip

Change log:
OC added
Swap enabled

Driver changed:
Video
Touchscreen
LED
Network
USB
Audio
Camera
Wimax

Added support for:
Filesystems:
ext4
JDB2
Rieserfs
ISO9660
NTFS
QNX4FS
CIFS

Other:
UTF8

And too many others to list.

EDIT: Seems to have fixed the issue with lines in screen when you wake up the phone, that some phones seem to have. My dev phone has that problem but not my main phone.

I think I've installed the new ver 8 test 6 kernel, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. Is there a way to tell which kernel is currently installed? How does one access the OC settings?

I made a nandroid backup and tried ICS. When I got fed up with the GPS I restored my Sharp nandroid backup and when it booted, it never left the initial splash screen.

So I tried reloading from scratch including the latest version and when I tried to go to the PlayStore, it said I needed to login in again to Google and when I said yes, it went back to the previous screen. No Gmail was in my apps folder and I could not login via contacts either.

What recovery are you using...i use twrp and it seems to be the most reliable...minus miui roms it always seems to work...although i am waiting for bsydz to finish his recovery he has in beta right now(doesn't play well with froyo yet)

That may be it. I have been using the beta.

Yeah i have already talked to bsydz about it...he said it saves all the recovery files as ext.4 and both of his froyo roms are ext.3...he told me you can fix this by changing the ext on the files with an explorer and that the recovery would be usable again...but i don't really know the exact details on it...but he is already working on a way to get it fixed...when he says its fixed fully then i will trust it, until then i will stick with twrp

just switched to Sharp from the U9000 one to see if the OC/UC settings stick with your new kernel. Good thing is, the governor and overclock sticks but not the under clock. It reverts back to 200mhz. Not a biggie though.

OH one issue I had that I can't seem to figure out, I'm trying to put a music widget on my widget locker screen but I can't since it's under the Sharp widgets? Is there a way around this? Or is the only way to install some third party music app?

You can use No-frills CPU Control, to see if the speed can be set above 1.024 GHz. If I change the name of the kernel it breaks stuff, so I left it alone. In CPU Spy it shows you more kernel info, if it says phenom@phenom-desktop, then that is one of my custom kernels. There are probably other ways to go about this but those are what I have on my phone right now.

If you go in to the backup folder, you can just change the file names in the backup from ext4 to ext3 and also change the names in the md5 file. That should fix the not booting issue. As for the Gapps thing, sounds like you or your recovery might not have wiped the phone properly, but I am running my beta recovery on my dev phone, and have no issues like you said you were having.

I just uploaded the new kernel for the U9000 ROM also, I'll look into the underclock issue. I don't really use the music widget so somebody else will have to chime in on that.

Hope this helps you guys out, if you have any other issues let me know.

I'm having charging issues with test kernel seems more selective of chargers.
Sorry you will have to be more specific. I have used my pc with moto cable, my moto charger and intercept cable(cause it is longer), and a cheap retractable universal car charger, all with out any issues. I definitely need some more info before I can figure out what is going on.

Most lg chargers dont work correctly with the triumph...its a known issue...they sometimes work for a short time and then something malfunctions causing the charger to put out very low voltage or nome at all, sometimes causing the red charging light to go on and off repeatedly...i recomend stickin to the one that came with the phone or a universal one...and be carefull because the lg chargers can get very hot with triumph i know from experience...lol

Hey bsydz...i was just wondering if when you build your kernels you know how to change the settings for voltage limits high and low...i have figured a few things out that im trying to test further

4390 antutu benchmark...i think i can get better
