Root [ROM v3] 2.3.7 GingerXperia Revolution ROM for X8

Thanks for the update again. I am using V14 but I am facing one problem that is I cant contol music from my headset when using walkman player though FM can be conrol by headset. Please suggest a solution.
 
Hello all, I just registered and would like to say thanks to the guys here who do all the hard work on the custom roms etc. I have just installed v14 on my x8 and am amazed by it. The phone is very much faster than with stock rom which I did back up before replacing. I have also upgraded the stock 2.3 on my x10 with the xloud and bravia mods.
I dont know why sony said they would not be supporting x8 beyond 2.1, the roms here prove the phone supports later roms. I did have one problem with the v14 rom, and that is that after I had installed back all my apps by using mybackup pro, I kept getting "not enough storage" warnings when trying to move them from phone to sd, even though I have over 5gb free on my sd card! Strange though that one day after i installed the rom, I tried again and the phone let me do it this time..
 
Does the wifi hotspot work in v14 rom? It will not start. Also, there is a password already in the wpa setting, does anyone know what it is? Im also having a problem with widgets, while using go launcher ex any widgets I place on the homescreens vanish if I reboot the phone.

Hi, i just upgraded to v14 and I have the same issue: apps can't locate me AT ALL. I don't get localized news, weather, and maps can't locate me. On stock ROM, it worked flawlessly, even without GPS it was pretty accurate.
First I just flashed v14 over v13 without a full wipe. Then, in hope this would fix it, i did a full wipe. Pretty useless, and a lot of work for nothing.
I already had the problem in v13. I'm not sure, but I think it worked in v12.

What can I do?

I have just tried this and same problem. gps doesnt work. May go back to floyo 2.2.9. Gps activates in apps like google maps and go weather but the application doesnt recieve data.

i have 1 question, no problem with all applications but why can not I use wifi - tethering ??
it's always stuck in "CONNECTING" .. :confused:
please help me so my X8 is perfect in v13... :(:(:(

I don't use DSP Manager. But I think there is some conflict in the lib modules.
Did you try the Equalizer app on Android Market? Sorry I could not help.

Are you using an app to tether? or the generic setting?

i did try to instal the Equalizer App from the Android market,but each time i try to execute the app i get a white black screen and phone hangs then i get "process equalizer not responding, two options appear, force close or wait.
i tried a clean intall(full wipe) but still the app cant run.

i installed gingerbread v12 in my phone and being a music lover, i also installed "powerAMP" the thing is i have this headset and everytime i click play on it, my phone gets confuse on which music player to play (the stock player or the poweramp player) this ended up making me hear two music playing at the same time...can you teach me how to disable the stock music player? and also the DSPManager..:D

Hi,

Strange, I have never had that problem before, having said that... I think you can try this trick.

try use a file manager to open an mp3 music file and when the system throws up 2 options (the stock music app and Power Amp) choose Power Amp as default.

OR

go to <settings><applications><manage applications><music><Clear data> hope that help...

Thanks for all the Information, wich I found for my X8, on the Forum.
I installed GingerXperia V 17 on my X8, using your splendid guide for doing this.
So it was quiet easy for me, as a newbee.

I enjoyed the new looks and perfomance of my X8.

Looking in the list I've noticed that there is already a new version, V 18.
Is there a big difference between earlier version ( V 17 )?

If I may: there is a little thing wich I found beter at the Froyo 2.1.1, this was: when calling by phone and whising to end the call, there was a "Red Phone" icon
on the display. But it's only a small remark.

Hi,

reinstall the rom and use xRecovery...
<factory reset full wipe>

check SD Card folder
<Android><data> does not have purchases from old Market app
and make sure android.secure folder is empty

I installed V 17, but after reboot, my X 8 won't go furhter then the first display ( sony Ericson ). I've tried with de right "return" button, but nothing happens. Couldn't shutdown by pressing the top buttom also. I' ve also removed the battery, but no result. How can I resolve this problem.

Did you check your baseband?
Usually it is because your phone's baseband is 006 and not 015
SO you are stuck in a boot loop.
you should upgrade your baseband to 015
Look for the guide in this section
