Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

I'm using go launcher the problem is every time I reboot
it makes me have to select go launcher and adw freezes on me t
Thank you ill try what you said

Love everything else with iho!

I use Balancer launcher with Jerry's latest build and never have a problem with FCs. One thing I have done differently, though, is to use an app called Launcher Switcher. It makes it a bit easier to switch between different launchers, plus it will set one as the default. Might be worth a try.

The freezing is due to the ICS rotation animation bug. Go to settings, cyanogenmod settings, display, uncheck ICS rotation animation then reboot. ADW is the stock launcher with BACKside so if you don't like it you can use another launcher. I personally use Zeam. Hope this helps.
I find the rotation animation quite nice, and have yet to encounter the dreaded bug on four different Vs. Perhaps it's because I always set "Home Orientation" to portrait in ADW settings.

I get this problem time to time even before root if it doesn't fix with the battery out. Try pulling the battery out while the phone is still on. Other than that wait it out. I don't think its the rom. I think with vm new update coming this month it is messing with the systems network.

Be sure to check VM's twitter feed to be certain there are no 3G issues at the time this is happening. ;)

Can someone tell me if using link2sd has any advantages to using app2sd? I'm using app2sd and I've found that I only have about 60megs free. Is this normal? I know it has been mentioned previously in this thread but but I'm just looking for a little information on which option is best if one is better than the other.

First, apps2sd is built into all gingerbread roms, it's under manage applications, sdcard, check the box, choose move to sdcard. ;)

Links2SD will dramatically improve your storage It also will move files that apps2sd leaves behind, and I believe has an easier upgrade mechanism than most of the other *2sd methods. Read the thread about it in this forum, has tons of info about it and how to use it best on the OV.

Oh okay. I did already have the CM settings set to 'Allow application moving' and 'Install Location' set to 'External' . I did change this after I had already installed the app2sd apk from the market so I guess they play nice together.

I'll look for the thread you're refering to. I did read something about having to set up a separate partition on the sd card for link2sd so I was a bit put off from trying it without asking for opinions first. Do I need to get rid of the above settings when using link2sd or do I leave the CM settings the way they are now too? Guess I need to find that thread. Hoping it's a sticky. Thanks.

Yes, set CM settings for installing apps to internal and let link2sd do its job.

They are kinda like T-Mobiles network. If you use over a certain amount of data it will slow down the speed. -_- I'm very sad about I do use my internet a lot hotspot apps downloads and opera I just think ill switch to a different network. I would like 4g the hotspot is powerful enough to use the Xbox live on it will no lag and watch Netflix perfectly. Besides the 25 bucks I pay it will be worth it to switch networks for the 4g speed.! Still love this rooted LG opt v though!

Knowing that the camera is one of the last things fixed on an alpha build, BACKside once again resides on my OV. Other updates: Peanut weighs 11.8 lbs. and is 24" long.

I monitored last month and I only got to 7 percent of the cap so I think I'm good. Does suck for those of us who have the higher plans that we have to be limited though.

Just solved my issue..I'm getting my wifi Wednesday! Anybody use clear wireless internet? Its a mobile hotspots modem. It will be with me everywhere .

Camera is the only thing holding me back as well. ICS camera is supposed to have a quick shutter isn't it? That would make a huge difference.

Thanks! He's got his great grandmother's eyes, fourth generation born with storm blue eyes.
Back on topic, even if the camera worked, there's still too much that needs to be done. Think of the alpha builds as technology demonstrators, or prototypes.

I have Clear. The setup I have is with the USB adapter connected to my desktop, running through Connectify to share it to my OV, Dell Streak 7, Wii and laptop. Just not all at once! ;)

Clear is fairly aggressive with their throttling, in my experience. 4 days a week, I check my email, Facebook, etc., and watch, say, a one-hour show on NetFlix and that's all I do. The other 3 days, I do that and play STO, WoW, or something on Steam. The only time I notice that I'm throttled is when I use NetFlix. When I am, a one hour show becomes an almost 2 hour ordeal.

Now, if you are using it as a mobile hot-spot, you probably won't use as much data as I do and won't see as much throttling. I'd also recommend checking the forums on DSLReports.com for Clear in your area. Just take what you see there with a grain of salt. You'll see a lot more complaints that praises, but it will give you a good idea of where the problems are in your area.

/end thread derailment :D

New build of BACKside-IHO is up!

Download via the BacksideUpdater

md5sum f33656d11c17eb5cda30a5efd86e44ee

GreenMachineTheme-03062012.zip

Changes:
--Synced with CM
-BACKside-IHO is now a Kang of CM7.2 RC1
-More changes to fingerprint frameworks
-Telephone supplemental notifications now supported
--Added option to restart status bar in settings so you dont have to reboot for changes to status bar or notification dropdown background colors or images
--NOTE - Do not press the restart option rapidly - give it a full 30 seconds to restart before trying again,

You can now make change to the status bar appearance, and/or the notification dropdown appearance, and then restart the status bar from the settings menu without rebooting your phone! For example, you can take a picture with the camera, open the settings menu, change the notification dropdown background image, select the image you just took and crop it to your tastes, and restart the status bar to show your new picture, all in less than a minute without hurrying! ;)

Settings>>CyanogenMod settings>>Interface>>Status bar tweaks>>Click To Restart Status Bar

Note- some gallery apps will also give you the option to rotate when cropping, Quick Pic does, and others may as well, the stock gallery 3d does not give options to rotate images while cropping.

This is awesome Jerry, thanks! :D

I recently installed the February 29 build on my phone. Everything looks great, but I am having a problem with MMS. Text messages work fine, but I can't send or receive MMS. Has anyone experienced this too?

Also, I have a problem with the SD card that came with my phone. If I do a software reboot the card doesn't seem to mount. It only seems to mount if I fully shutdown and then power up. Is this normal?

Thanks to all for the all time and effort put into development and support.
