Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

There's a hacked version of Flash 11 from XDA that works well for the Optimus V. I installed it yesterday and have been able to watch video, see ads :(, and the like without issue.
 
Hmmm I've noticed something odd. Although I don't have auto rotate on, my screen still rotates in the gallery. Anyone else have this?
 
For the last two builds I've had to toggle airplane mode to get any network connection to work. Has been happening about two or three times a day since 0229. Not really complaining (easy fix) just reporting (shouldn't need to).

The app is over riding the auto rotate. Auto rotate will set the app to auto rotate with it disabled it's completely up to the apps eternal settings.
 
I just started getting curious about the rotation animation since I never use any, but if Im not mistaken you can't set C7 rom to ONLY do the screen rotate animation? You have to set display to (all animations) but (some animaitons) is the only other choice and it's not that one. I kind of like the smooth flow of the screen rota but would get sick of the page transition effect, I like the the quickness of immediate view, just seems like it slows you up imo. Using 1/31 Bs I never experienced the rotation bug btw, it seems to work for me. Thanks if someone can confirm to me that you can't JUST use the screen rota?
 
Dude, I REALLY like the new ring style option Blade, its sick! Idk if it's been there before, but its awesome! and I wanted to mention something... but i forgot... I'll be back... oh wait! I got it! lol I love the new boot animation! it's hilarious lol :D

I haven't had any noticeable problems with my network connections where I had to toggle Airplane Mode--only slight glitches occasionally with slow or locked page loads on the browser. I thought it might have been my WiFi router and/or issue with the websites--typically, I just stop the page load, re-tap on the bookmark, and it would reload OK.

I didn't mention this before, as I'm trying to get more observations before reporting, but I have experienced anomalies with the Airplane Mode operations in the last two updates. When I tap on the Airplane Mode button in the Notification Power Widget, there's no effect on enabling the Airplane Mode. Once that initial tap, the Airplane Mode indicator within the Quick Settings app would show that it's turned ON (or Airplane Mode enabled), but the WiFi and 3G remained active. That indicator never turns OFF no matter if I subsequently tap on the Airplane Mode buttons within Quick Settings or via the Notification Power Widget. I could manually enable and disable the 3G and WiFi independently via their separate buttons on the Notification Power Widget.

[Edit] This anomaly with the Airplane Mode was still observed with version 0313. Since no one else was experiencing this and there seemed to be increasing other Status Bar operational oddities, I decided to do a complete clean install of 0313 with full wipes and formats. Problems seem to be resolved now. [/Edit]

I hesitate to ask you this, but have you power cycled your router lately?

Kinda feels like I'm tech support asking you "Is it plugged in?" ;)

Dig. :D I haven't reset my router because there's no connection problems with any of the three other androids in the house, and I have to toggle 3G. I will, though, just to follow the trouble shooting process. I'm thinking it has to do with having restored a backup of 0229 (from Quattrimus alpha 6) then updating to 0306, all with CWMT. Later today when the screaming demon falls asleep, I'll try a clean install. One other odd thing, usually when I update BACKside I don't need gapps. This time I did need it. Again, I'm not complaining - merely sharing my observations.
 
I didn't need Gapps on the 03062012 build? Did you check the md5 sum before you installed?
 
What is the current recommended recovery for the old screen phones? I had a little trouble with my phone freezing so I ran the fix permissions in recovery, and then I couldn't boot. Got a black screen with a ton of system process crash popups. Did a reinstall and tested fix permissions again and had the same problem.
 
Try the New touch screen recovery or the Bob Zohme modified CWMod recovery (VM670NH_recovery.img)

Both are in the "All Things Root Guide" Sticky.

Don't ever use fix_permissions in recovery. Just run it from terminal.

The only time I ever tried it in recovery I had FC's with everything and ended up doing a clean install again.
 
Same here.
The two fix_permissions scripts from recovery and android are different.

EDIT:Actually the difference is just in some variables names, so it must be something else screwing up fix_permissions in recovery.
 
My Android market icon is saying that the application doesn't
exist. It's this because of the new Google play out did I mess up my market somehow? Any way to get it back?
 
It's Google play now. Just replace it with the Google play icon. For some reason it didn't change the shortcut when it updated so the market shortcut is looking for something not there.
