Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

I'm not sure if this has been addressed previously but.. I noticed something when I use "Focus loss ducking" in the music settings. When I have Google Navigation + music, the navigation voice is at a very low volume. I tried changing the db level of the Focus loss ducking, but it didn't change it. The voice is at a volume I can't even hear. Has this issue been addressed already? o.O

I personally like the BIOS animation included, and I've left the sound as the Rome default until I find a a cheesy Old boot sound to use, one with that annoying windows 95 clicks and beeps sound that the computer makes when starting up.

And another feature that I like is the importing or your own boot animations that you have either made yourself, or downloaded from the web.

the 25th is now giving me the android.process.media error. I'm thinking this rom is more buggy than what I'd like. Does anyone recommend another gingerbred rom?

I'm running 8/25. Fresh install. I'm still getting insufficient space errors from market. Except now it's even worse, as it's happening even with small apps.

First question, so you've done a fresh install.. Then, you installed ONE, SINGLE app and you got that error already??

If not and you've installed SOME apps at least.. then yes I've had this problem before as well. I'm not sure why it was happening (to make a complete guess, maybe it's because the dalvik cache is too small and the dalvik cache is located in internal storage only ???) but I've found a solution. I started using Link2SD (found here: [App] Link2SD - xda-developers which links your apps to an ext partition in your SD card. It creates a link not only for your apps but for the dalvik-cache or any data linked to that particular app. This, of course, requires creating a separate partition on your SD card. When you do this, be SURE to backup your SD card BEFORE you create the partition (I made a SERIOUS mistake of just creating a partition without backing up and all my data was gone >_<). Anyways, my list of apps are piling up and I still have 90mbs of internal space free! (I've decided to install the most important apps on my phone directly, but it's fine to link ALL of your apps onto the ext partition.) OH and by the way, I tried multiple App2SD apps and I still got that insufficient space error (which is why it makes me think it's dalvik-cache since App2SD doesn't allow you to move your dalvik-cache. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this please!) Hope that helps and boy this was long

I've got ~90MB free internal. So I don't know why there's a problem. I prefer the fix method I posted.

I also had apps in the market listed for updates, but they wouldn't install. Turns out they were already up to date. I rebooted a few times and the updates are no longer listed.

Also, the market app has been crashing a lot. Seems to do it only when I try to open the My Apps section. And seems to do it more often within a few minutes of booting, but I'm not sure that's anything.

When it crashes, it seems to crash the whole phone. It doesn't reboot, but the screen goes blank then the pattern lock screen appears and it says "(no service)" for a few seconds, as if it just booted up.

So far I have had absolutely no problems with this Tom, market works perfectly fine, no memory issues(link2sd) no data issues, no service issues, no SMS issues, no mms issues, nothing buggy, battery is decent, (previous version had longer battery life).. nothing to complain about, yet, and I'm a heavy user, I'm constantly on the web, texting, listening to music, several apps running in the background (ttorrent, Skype, Pandora, maps, lookout, quick settings, android assistant, juice defender) .. so whenever I encounter (if I ever encounter) any errors, bugs, issues, problems or anything. I will post..

Problems with the new market are beyond my control. I suggest uninstalling the market updates so you go back to the old version of the market, clear market data, then reboot.

I haven't installed any market updates. I already tried clearing market cache and data and rebooting but errors still persist. How do I get the old market?

I've had no issues as of yet, only one random reboot, I've used link2sd before I flashed when I was just rooted. I have 106 user apps with 136mb fee internal space. Also you want to get an app to clear your cache on a regular basis as that builds fast. I've also noticed with the apps linked they do run faster.

But I like this ROM. If I have to, I'll go back to 8/20 where I had no problems except for having to fix the market cache.

I don't see how I'm the only one having these issues. I'll try a reinstall again without restoring my user apps with Titanium.

"Installing from another ROM" is the procedure for a fresh install, right?

I tried to make a call with the headphones that came with the phone today. I could hear the person on the other line, but could not speak to them.

What is better about blarfs as opposed to clockwork?

Just reinstalled and also wiped my SD. So far everything seems to be working much better. Apps are downloading and installing form the market now. I think Titanium Backup messed things up. I probably had duplicate copies of apps on the phone and SD card and maybe that somehow messed up the market app.
