Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

Alright, I think I found a little bug. In the notification tray, the Sound setting only turns the sound back on if the phone is either on Vibrate or Silent. It won't go to Vibrate or Silent by pressing on it. Just a little bug I found, but nothing to really irritate me like not having notification sounds.

Mine does this also.

I noticed something on my phone. When making a phone call, the volume always sounds like its on the loudest setting, but its on the lowest setting. If I press volume UP the sound decreases to the correct level. If I decrease it back to the lowest it will give the correct sound for the level. The only problem is the initial sound is always the loudest regardless of where the volume is actually set. This happens on speaker phone too. My brother also has an Op V and runs backside cm7, his phone has this problem too.

I hope this post makes sense.

Hey guys, I'm still loving the everliving crap out of my phone with the backside ROM. My g/f has the same phone, and I'm ready to root and mod it as well. She's in love with this Tapfish game, and I want to make sure I can back it up, along with the data (months worth of playing), before I root. Is there any safe way to do this? Thanks much!

I was hoping to do it before I rooted. I should have asked, is there any danger of losing that data while rooting?

If there's no danger, do I use Titanium backup, back it up to the SD, flash it, get everything going, install Titanium backup again, and then import the backed up file? Is that how it works?

There is always a danger of something going wrong, but with rooting it is small.

Root
Backup with titanium
Install custom recovery
backup phone via recovery
flash rom
install titanium
restore tapfish

I've looked into this somewhat, but I don't like to mess with the phone apps, after all this is a phone in the first place. ;)

It's an issue for CM7.

Ok. Its really not a big deal. Figured I'd at least say something. Smart move not wanting to mess with the phone apps, I can imagine the headache involved.

Is anyone else having trouble logging into the amazon app store? It keeps saying "Please enter a valid email address and password" o.O (If you're already logged in then it should be fine; the problem is actually logging in)

Oh wow thanks for that! And I just figured out that my clock wasn't appearing because it was the same color as my notification bar XD All is well now. :)

Tapfish, lmao

Yes, it was in response to someone asking about backing up their SO's tapfish game.

I was having issues, but not with the Amazon app. I couldn't load up the Market as it kept telling me to log in. Annoying as shit I tell ya. I ended up reflashing gapps and was finally able to load up the Market like normal.

I was able to find a solution to my problem. [SOLUTION] Amazon App Store "Temporary error" login - xda-developers
Funny how it was due to too many reflashes xD at least now I can see exactly how many flashes I've done for my phone haha! I'm at 24 times so far!

I had another problem though and I wasn't able to find the solution yet. I applied my usual LunarUI theme and when I rebooted, it reverted back to the stock theme (Not Green Machine, as I don't have it installed). Any ideas as to why this would be happening? I tried wiping cache partition and dalvik-cache then tried applying the theme again but it still wouldn't stick.. I'm attempting to reflash the entire ROM to see if it works.

Jerry,

Question... is the phone supposed to auto adjust itself when you cross time zones? When I went from Washington State to Illinois, the time refused to adjust itself. I had to manually go in to the settings and reset the time and choose the time zone. It's set to Automatic by default. I haven't flashed the latest build yet as I'm still running the 10/17/2011 build.

I honestly don't mind doing this manually... was just wondering if its a bug or if this is perfectly normal. My boyfriends HTC auto changed time, so was curious.

And, thanks for all of the hard work you always put into BACKside. I couldn't possibly be happier with my phone. :D

I just happen to have a friend who just got back from a cross country trip to Florida and back. He said that the clock did change eventually, but it was not immediate. This makes sense due to the fact the phone needs some method of knowing it is in a new time zone. Once you are far enough across the line, the cell phone towers may trigger a change in the phone, until then only GPS or manual settings can change it.

Jerry is right. From the Permissions thread on Opera Mobile, "..your location can be determined by three different methods: (1) GPS, (2) nearby WiFi APN and (3) Cell ID. Each method has pros and cons regarding speed and accuracy."

So maybe connecting to a hotel/coffee shop network or using the GPS will update the time immediately without having to wait for the cell networks to automatigically do it for you.

I'll test this out when traveling across states over TG weekend.

Is anyone having trouble connect their phone to their computer via USB? I've installed the drivers here, but when I connect with a USB the drivers can't be found. It has just recently stopped working last night and I rooted about 5 days ago. Is there a step I'm missing here?

Did it work after you rooted your phone?
