Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

Yeah i'm using the ics theme from xda. The clear button has been below my notifications since I started using this theme so I guess that's normal lol. It works fine at least.
Also, not a big deal, but I fixed the brightness modes but my widget button still shows that it's on auto although it switches through the different brightnesses just fine

That's weird. Mine is above where it normally should be.

I've been having issues with my phone crashing (running 11/2, but had same problem with the previous two builds), sometimes every two minutes. I've reflashed the rom from scratch a few times, yet I still seem to develop the problem after a half-day or so.

Two things occur to me: 1. it seems to crash when I quickly scroll down the screen regardless of what program I am using; and 2. it also seems to happen when I have a low 3g signal. Could any of these be the culprit?

Thanks!

Is your phone overclocked?

Quick question about your ics theme... If you look at the screenshot I posted, under "ongoing" the text for weatherbug is black and I can't read it...is that the same for you? Not necessarily weatherbug, but anything that may be running up there for you

Its black for several things such as USB Debugging mode and some Facebook notifications. that is common as it is the app that is actually causing it, not the theme. Look in the weatherbug settings to see if you can invert the notification text's color. If you can't, I guess you just have to live with it.

The Clear button moves from the top to the bottom based on the Compact Carrier Label settings. If it's compacted, the button wont fit, so it moves to the bottom. ;)

I set WeatherBug's notification color to blue, wish they had green. ;)

Anyone know a solution to my auto rotate problem? >_<

EDIT: Also, I read up on recent posts about problems with the notification power widgets. I tried out brightness control and when I changed it to say 25% then turned my screen off, it doesn't stick as 25%. It changes back to a different brightness setting. Furthermore, I've been having issues changing the button order of the notification power widgets.. Is it possible the there's just a bug in the whole notification power widgets option itself? o.O

I have this rom installed and want to do a harder reset because i'm giving the phone to my brother, i don't want to wipe out the rom or the theme but i want to wipe the device with my info, whats the easiest way?

Hi, I just did this to my phone. Using apps like google sky, altitude, and layer breaks the motion sensors until i turn off and on via power button/battery. Any way to fix this?

Make sure you have the ROM you want to leave on it and gapps files on your sdcard. Then reboot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache, then format boot, data, system, and cache, then do a factory reset (yes, it's safe in recovery, just not when the phone is booted up ;) ).

You will need to use a Froyo based ROM like Harmonia or Bumblebee in order to activate the phone again. Once activated, you can put any ROM on it again.

Wipe and do a factory reset through your recovery then reflash the rom. It will be like brand new.

Edit: if you still want the apps but not the data backup with titanium but only apps not data

I just tried both Google Sky Maps and Layar, and then played My Paperplane 3d, motion sensors worked fine. Try rebooting, and if you have trouble with the sensor, do the figure-8 wave to reset the sensor. ;)

Are you guys sure it has to be a froyo rom for my brother to activate it? That was a good point, thanks much!!!
yes, it has to be a froyo rom. stock, harmonia, harmonious bumblebee, bumblebee...
if you activate over the phone, they will want you to type ##virgin# into the dialer to change the phone number. gingerbread roms won't open the service menu, it's not in the rom at all.

Just wanted to point out an issue that I have with the ROM. The SD card doesn't load as fast as it used to. Especially this time right now. I reset the phone and the apps from the sd card still haven't loaded 5 minutes later. And this is after resetting the phone because they hadn't loaded in 10-15 minutes. Obviously that is a bit annoying. It used to load within a minute. While it hadn't taken this long before, it was still taking longer. Ok well it loaded now but still I'm wondering what could be causing the problem.

i've been using BACKside for the past 3 months, overclocked to 825mhz, and everything has been great for the most part, except for 1 thing that i've noticed on this newest (11-02) build: i get at least 1-2 notifications per day that the sd card has been removed when it hasn't been. i have to remove and reinsert it for it to be usable again.

also, i had the phone reboot once a couple days ago (first time its done that since i was messing with clock speed, several months ago)... i was listening to the built in music player via mic-less headphones when i got an incoming call. i answered the call and pulled out the headphones at roughly the same time and took the call, which lasted 1 minute or less, then the phone rebooted itself as the call ended. i have tested the removal of the headphones while playing mp3s, and that's no issue (as it had always been), and otherwise haven't been able to reproduce that reboot...

oh, also... am i just missing it, or is there a way to get the clock back on the notification bar? (nvm, found it in cyanogen, interface, statusbar tweaks. the clock was visable, but black)

thanks and keep up the great work!

To get the clock to appear, just got into the cyanogen mod settings and (I forgot the submenu) change any settings that have to do with the clock such as show/hide am/pm and the clock will appear

Hi, I have a question. I am looking to set up my computer to be able to help develop, fix problems, build kernels, help the community. But I'm having a heck of a time setting up a buid environment. OS isnt the problem, long time ubuntu user. Im running Natty Narwhal the newest.. Can somone please guide me through, step by step or give me a link to set up a build environment for the Optimus V linking to cyanogenmod and IHO and all the tools, and terminal commands to set it up. Id really appreciate it. Think of it as, scratch my back ill scratch yours, and the entire V community
Thanks in advance

Correction, you are not running the newest Ubuntu. Natty Narwhal is 11.04, Ubuntu 11.10 came out almost a month ago already. I'm an Ubuntu user too so I just had to be picky :P

On a side note, for whatever reason today, my battery drained an insane amount without me even using it, and I have no idea why. It could be the new theme I installed, but that was like 3 days ago and I just started to experience this today.

EDIT: Correction, I installed the theme yesterday. I'm using the ICS theme v1.6 for Optimus One phones.

Are you using widget locker?
