This is for sprint but the same applies here,its an android issue not a carrier issue.
On most phones the os at least correctly shows that it is connected to lte,but those signal bars still show 1x signal strength. Ours doesn't show the lte logo because of how pieced together our ril implementation is.

This might explain why I can no longer get data and talk at the same time

I am sure you are right, but on stock when the 4g icon is gone i can't surf and talk either. its one or the other but not both, same for the echo when I did have echo issues on stock, it always happened when the 4g was gone. perhaps its all connected somehow I really don't know, but part of me hope it is, and easy to tackle.

If the motion is VOLTE mabye rooting or cm breaks it hmmm
 
i've been messing with a file labeled voice_call in /system/etc/snd_soc_msm i made a bunch of changes at once (not a good idea) and whatever i did made it so all i get is a busy signal, but i can hear it at arms length and i have long arms.
 
i just had an idea, what if we on cm10.1 4/28 then, wipe cache and dalvik cache and flash cm10.1 5/17 do you think its possible and would i still have my setup but with fixes added?
 
i noticed on the beta 4 rom that has louder call volume, that all the files related to hifi and fm radio are missing but their present in these builds. maybe thats causing a conflict and causing low call volume. i'm just guessing and trying different things at this point but the fact that that rom has much louder volume is giving me a basis for things to try by comparing the two.

anything added to /system will be gone when you flash but you might try taking camera related files from that rom to fix camera issues. don't know for sure but it's worth a try
 
question, must yu reflash gapps again after updating? if not then the rom supports /system/addon.d/* scripts meaning yu can backup files in system and during the flash it restores them.
 
I was on version f then wiped data and formated system then flashed 5/17 wenwell but didnt reset data, wiped cache and dalvik and flashed gapps and ta da. i have my setup from 4/28 on 5/17 build and echo fixed and just need to remove the backlight lib and 100%
 
ima try bootbuddy on cm, i love both and i just bought a 32g from office depot, they matched walmart price of 39.99 and it was selling for 99.99

screen sensor not fully working my cheek keeps hanging up on people n havent tested Bluetooth media yet but still no echo!

Okay so I'm not crazy, but the system seems to be reading the sd card (internal and external) through the "storage" file found in the root of the phone. In "storage" resides "sd card 0" and "sd card 1" files. Those are your internal and external sd card directories respectively. Here's where I'm having a problem: The "sd card 0" file (internal sd) is not writable! At least it's not working out for me. I'm rooted (duh), and I'm using root explorer and yes I have it mounted as rw. I tried to maybe change the permissions to no avail; it would not let me. I don't get it! I think this is my only hope of getting my old data onto cm, but I'm stuck at an impass. Any suggestions?

Where do i find the backlight lib? And what does it do if removed?
 
In call volume still pretty low although I haven't heard any echo. And the face detecting sensor is not working properly.
 
Just flashed 517 from stock F firmware, No echo. Have not tested everything but all seems good less the known 1080p and 4g icon but I don't need that.
