Root [ROM][WIP]CM10.0.0.l0-BobZ

a6ebydyp.jpg
Just installed the ROM, everything is working great -- pic messages, 4g speeds, not having any of the commonly reported issues except that I can't access my external sd card from in CM10. I see my data when I explore from the computer, but ES file explorer shows it as empty, and the built in CM file explorer refuses to open it and says I need elevated permissions, though as far as I can tell I have root access. Do I need to reroot the phone after installing Cyanogen, or can someone help me figure out what's going on here?
also holding the power button doesnt give me the option to reboot to recovery, only power down, change profile, reboot, and airplane mode.
-------
edit:
I installed a different SuperUser to /system and now ES explorer shows me as having 2 external sd cards, 0 and 1. 1 Is mine with my data still on it, and the other shows as empty and is the phones internal storage.

Go into the CM file manager, bottom right hand side there is a thing that looks like a bookmark with a star in the middle, tap it, when it opens, sdcard0 is internal, sdcard1 is external. I had the same problem. If you go into external_sd it will show as empty, you have to do it the other way.

Sorry for the double post, but i just thought of something and wanted the opinions of people smarter than myself ;)

I flashed this rom from version F stock firmware, and i had GPS problems on f as well. Out of curiosity, could some people who aren't having GPS issues reply with what stock version they were on pre flash? Perhaps the issue is something from version f that wasn't present in a previous version? Just a thought...

Well im running the f firmware right now and i havnt had those gps issues. In fact the only time gps stopped working right was when i put jelly bean on my phone. Or when i rooted my ics firmware. Im now running the stock firmware with no root and i complete love my phone. Not that theres anything wrong with jellybean, its just my job requires me to have gps (Im horrible with dirdctions.).

I will post link when i get home

Weird because I am running recovery 5.5.0.4...
And I lost no data after flashing camera
Hell i didn't even know there was updated recovery.
The call volume is only a problem when driving or loud environment
but it is about half of stock at full
The recovery confuses me a bit..its not a true recovery
You can't get to it without being IN android.

toggle the vol keys ;)

Easy fix on the call vol while driving... stop endangering everyone else on the road. ;)

hey i have install this rom great job brother i like it alot
but the navigation app is not working properly
it's saying" searching for gps" can someone look in to that.

What do you mean toggle the volume keys
I'm a safe driver..there is no danger talking and driving same as talking to person in the car
if you use hands free or speaker yea maybe, but holding the phone up to your ear while driving distorts your peripheral vision, takes use of one hand away if needed too. Not to mention its against the law in many states. ;) It doesnt matter how safe a driver you think you are, talking on the phone while driving is more dangerous than you realize and its not the same as talking to someone in the car with you, regardless of how much you want to debate. lol Not preaching, just stating thats not a legit excuse on the call volume. Luckily for you in-call volume is a legit issue. ;)

What I mean by toggle the volume keys is, from power off, hold power key, when the lg logo appears, start toggling vol-+ repeatedly (vol up and down). ;)

I THOUGHT my gps was working. It seemed to be fine while I was in nyc, but last weekend I went to long island for a family reunion, and when I went to use it the cursor was jumping all over the map. All my location settings were correct, but I think it was trying to find my location through cell towers-not true gps. I can't have that happen again, so I'm back to stock and I have to say the call volume is way better, it's nice top have vibration again even though I don't really use it, and my gps is crazy on point now. I miss jb though, and while I was running it for those two and a half weeks,i was totally stoked and ready to put off buying a new phone. Now I've got my eyes on the gs3, but may wait for metro's gsm phones. I loved this ROM, but gps is a critical issue when you really need it.

Anyone mind helping me out? I missed the part where it says to only boot into recovery using to reboot menus when you get the ROM installed so I tried the app that's used on the stock rom and now I get the security error message when I try to boot into recovery. My phone still boots to cm10 I just get an error when trying to boot into recovery. Any ideas?

Test after test after test proves that this is totally wrong. I believe the Mythbusters showed that talking on a cell phone can actually be more dangerous than driving drunk. Not only does it mess with your peripheral vision and deprive you of the use of one hand as PlayfulGod mentioned, there's also the fact that the person you're talking to can't see the road and can't adjust the conversation to the dangers around you. A passenger in the car will shut up or help you spot other cars if you're making a tricky turn or changing lanes, whereas a person you're calling will just keep talking and distracting you at times when you most need your attention to be focused on the road.

Do not talk and drive whenever possible. And when you do need to do so, go hands-free and make sure to let the person on the other end know that you're driving. I will often say, "Hey I'm making a turn, hang on." and the other person then knows to shut the hell up and let me concentrate.

on CM10 you can reboot from the power menu. I also found where the patch goes in Cm10.1 for the reboot to recovery option too. ;)

@Johnny I tired your zip and no go. still I get md5 mismatch. I saw a post that if I remove and create a new nandroid.md5 file that is blank that cwm will skip md5 matching and be able to flash properly but nope . it still fails. then I wanted to try the adb but instructions are vague. how do I connect phone to adb? I'm on cm10 bobz and want to go stock due to GPS errors and this time I cant get bootbuddy to bind.

that was a mouthful. not sure what your actual question is. but enable debugging in settings then connect to pc by usb then goto adb folder in cmd and type whatever adb command you need. go here for a short list of general commands Android Debug Bridge | Android Developers
on linux you can just open terminal and issue commands. assuming you have it installed.
on windows, i've always just browsed to the adb folder in cmd and issued commands but i'm sure theres a way to install it so you don't have to browse to the folder but i've never tried or cared to.

I know that playfulgod thanks, what I mean is I broke the patch and noe I can't get into recovery. I used the apk that I was told to use on a stock ROM on cm10 like an idiot. Is there a way to fix this without the unbrick guide? Don't want to redo everything

I got a problem. My phone no longer gets 4g. Its only picking EV. Any ideas? I was on bobz cm10 but went back to stock now i no longer get 4g.

Before you went back to stock, did you remember to change the network mode while you were on Bob's ROM? If not, there lies your problem. That setting persists across ROM flashes and you'll have to change it back to LTE / CDMA / EvDo.
