Root [ROM][WIP]CM10.0.0.l0-BobZ

Just a FYI... I pulled the camera/photoshere apk out of the lg lte2 ROM that androidadmirer did and installed normally into bobz 4/22 build & it fixed the front facing camera & front facing video. Also the photosphere can didn't work for me

I've had the 4.3 camera installed since the start on 5-21 build how'd you get front video to work?

4/22 has worked better for me than the other releases....its the only release that wifi tethering worked & now the front facing camera too. Not sure that's the case for others on here, just speaking for myself...

I recommend this for people..... also hope he updates it soon to fix some of the problems soon. :-)

Lg Motion over clocked to 1.6

Ok so in regards to gps... I was playing around with my spare stock phones(motion) gps and I got a lock in the same pinpointed location I always am pinpointed on cm10. It would be my belief that the gps.conf has nothing to do with not getting a lock as apparently the location is accurate. So yes as previously mentioned it would confirm to me that the problem is deeper than the conf file.

I have just a tiny request here. Would anyone be willing to post a SystemUI.apk with the 1X/4G .pngs swapped out? I'd do it myself, but I really don't have the know-how to do so.

Thanks in advance.

Ive been reading about gps, trying out every conf file under the sun, wiping data, and returning to stock (got lock in 10 sec), came back still no luck. What I've read is something about how the internal gps time clock has to be the exact same as the satellites or they won't be able to know how long they've communicated for a synchronized lock. This triggered a thought in my mind about how any time I reboot, the clock says it's some odd time of the day for a couple of seconds while loading settings and then flashes to the correct time. Could there be something wrong there that is not allowing satellites to properly communicate? As I've mentioned before I get the exact same pinpoint on stock as on cm10 only difference on stock, it locks within seconds on to about 9-10 satellites... Hmmm I wonder..

EDIT: I downloaded an app called gps time and it doesn't even allow you to see the time of the gps because the satellites aren't communicating properly with the internal receiver. At least we can eliminate a few things as the problem..gps conf, hardware damage, or synchronized time. I tried switching out the gps lib files as well but no work there. I also added a gps driver to the etc and tried to perform a gps wipe and recovery via terminal emulator and bricked. Which warned it could.. I've done everything I can think of so I can only sit back and hope/wait at this point.

I also experimented exactly like you have. Trust me, the issue is definitely something wrong with that way the GPS software is communicating with the satellites. It is obvious because when you have Wifi on, it can estimate your locale based on the location of certain Wifi hot spots and networks, but with Wifi off your location bounces all over the god damn map :/

I must have tried at least 50 variations of the conf file, at least fifteen different patches, and given myself about 35 headaches.. No luck :(

I was looking in the permissions folder and compared it to stock, first on cm10 there's an xml for gyroscope and our phone is not equipped with one. The accelerometers on stock are bosch specific which our device is but on cm10 it's a generic accelerometer xml. There's also a compass xml on bobZ as there isn't on stock. Idk if any of it really matters but if there's an xml for these permissions then they have to be written somewhere else in the framework. My compass points north when I'm facing south and obviously vice versa. I synced my time with the atomic clock but it still won't communicate to satellites so it doesn't even matter.

Great port, the only thing is I forgot to flash gapps, and now when I try and go into recovery it gives me a morningcall empty error, anyone know what's wrong and how I can fix it?

are you trying to use the 2nd init app or reboot recovery on the power menu?

Unbrick method and reflash with gapps this time. Unless you installed a loki'd kernel and made a back up first.

I tried out the ROM in this thread http://androidforums.com/motion-4g-all-things-root/743169-lg-lte2-cm10-4-1-1-port.html , and GPS worked. The only problem with that ROM was my phone calls sounded static to the person I called, and SMS could receive and no MMS. Anyone we can combine the GPS files from that with Bobz or PG's to make a complete ROM?

I should probably look into making ROMs and stuff, so I can answer my own question, lol.

Ok so gps is fixed thx. Now can anybody confirm that installing the camera from the lte2 rom will get front face video working on 4/28 or 5/21?

No it does not. I've had that camera installed into my system since my day one with this rom. The issue is deeper than the app. It's my next project though I'm looking into it. I haven't tried any other of his builds. Was it ever working?
