Root [ROM][WIP]CM7.2.0 RC1-BobZ

As far as the Adobe Flash hack. Is that just the actual flash package? Meaning I can just reinstall the hacked Flash for ARMv6 package and it will work?
Yes, it will work if you flash it. I removed it because:
1) It was not working having it pre-installed with the ROM
2) I did not want to waste the time to figure out why it was not working
3) I personally did not like the flash player
3a) Colors were off
3b) Did not work all the time...kind of hit or miss
4) I felt most people didn't care to have it
5) If you wish to have it, it is a quick flash
Again...this is just my opinion,
Bob

Edit:
I forgot about, but just added to the OP list:
Kernel v9: Added: CIFS(Common Internet File System) module

If you get a program like cifs manager https://market.android.com/details?id=ws.plattner.cifsmanager&feature=search_result from the market, it will allow you to connect to your pc and/or media server via WiFi. You will be able to transfer file, stream music, and watch avi's that are on your computer. The only down fall for me is that MKV's are to big to stream over Wifi to the phone. The audio plays, but the video is to choppy.

I love the new build!! The new kernel is freakin' sweet! The ability to stream to myself over wifi without any kind of tethering is absolutely brutal. ;) InteractiveX governor adds major stability to gaming and almost completely destroys any keyboard screen lag even in a low memory situation. It took two reboots for everything to settle in and now my little optimus is lightning fast and stable at 825!!! Great job, Bob!

Can you test camera and MMS...Thanks!

can anyone give some tips on how to get this working? I've scavenged the interwebs for information but everything I try fails miserably. I'm not sure if I am screwing it up on my pc's end (win7, 64bit), the phone's end (cifs manager settings perhaps?), or both. Any help is appreciated.

You'll need to make sure you have the correct software in the PC side. Afterwords go to wireless and networks settings, press the menu button on the home row keys. Now from that menu scroll down and make your IP address static so it cannot change randomly. Once you get the connecting between your android and PC running the rest will fall into place. CIFS is an awesome tool but it does take a little time to learn if you've never used it before ;)

I just flashed this ROM after using JerryScript for the past few weeks. I notice first of all that my internal storage space is significantly less in this ROM than Jerry's. Rather than having near 100 mb of available space I only have 42 and I haven't yet synced texts. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue or if I have done something wrong.

I'm sorry...you've done something wrong. This rom is barebones so you should have extreme system space as only the absolute bare essentials are provided. As for text sync goes...in some cases (its happened to me in the past) you'll need to go to accounts&sync then long press on your account. Afterwords resync your contacts and then wait about 5 mins, check your contacts, and if they show up your SMS should be synced as well

On the topic of free system space...you should have roughly 197mb of 201mb avalible post flash. A2SD is onboard this rom so also make sure it is running properly. I recommend downloading A2SDGUI from the market if you don't like terminal emulator.

JerryScript builds for the OV(Virgin Mobile) phone, this thread is for the MS(MetroPCS) phone. I hope you did not flash this MS rom on your OV phone
I do build for multiple phone, and the phone version is in the name of my ROM's. Hopefully you just posted in the wrong thread.

Bob, when I press the menu button on the lockscreen it unlocks and i even have menu unlock unchecked in cyanogenmod settings.

Hey Tweak or anyone else that can help. If you can post a step by step of how to use CIFs on computer side as well as phone side i would greatly appreciate it. I've looked every where I can. Still keep getting the same error saying no such device. I'm sure others would appreciate it as well.

Setup: Windows Side
*make a directory to be shared (e.g. media)
*right click the new folder and select properties and enable sharing over network (may be under advanced sharing tab for XP users)
*find your network IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.1)

Setup and usage on android:
*Download CIFS manager from android market, install, and open.
*select mount device and on the info window you'll need to enter your network IP address, mount point (e.g. /mnt/cifs), your windows user name and password)
*Return to the main menu and select your new share. If everything was done correctly you will be able to stream from your windows directory to your phone over wifi.

Note: only the files in the folder you're sharing can be streamed.
If you want to stream over 3g you'll need a VPN and a very solid connection.

So far this is how I've been using it...I hope this helps

HINT: press your current wifi connection under wireless and settings menu on your device to see your networks IP address

I made my phone's wireless connection static, and followed the above instructions. I've gone from the "no such device" error to "connection refused". You mentioned software on my PC's end; what would that be?
I personally think I'm screwing up on the cifsmanager.apk side, on the first part where you are supposed to type in your share path. I put my IP in, but not sure what to put following. Do i type i include the name of my PC's workgroup, the full path of where the folder is shared, or something else entirely? And what if there is no password for my computer; was wondering if keeping it blank was also impeding my progress *sigh*

Try entering something like this into share path ( 198.162.1.1/your_shared_folder). Yeah it sounds like its on the android side of things. I ever entered anything.Although, It could be something with windows firewall rejecting the connection.

I noticed that this rom had flash player built in...does it really work?? it was my understanding that the optimus didnt support flash at all. I really dont think that flash is that big of a deal, but i was just curious.

Does CIFS require remote access on your computer. The reason I ask is mine is disabled and I think that maybe where I'm running into an issue

Getting closer. Make sure to enable those options in settings!!! Now I'm assuming I need a server running on my PC. Is that right? If so link to a server please

should just need shared folders or drives on your PC for it to work ;)
