Root [ROM][WIP] CyanogenMod 7 | Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) | Current Version: 09122011

+1 Just made LPP my system launcher/froze stock (ADW) w/TITANIUM BACKUP PRO,all is well. Also integrated MARKET UPDATE into ROM.

Got a FORCE CLOSE on MARKET upon UPDATE integration, had to sign in to MARKET just as you would upon installing GAPPS,all is well,MARKET is working just fine.

Probably gonna leave the stock launcher on the ROM in frozen state,it's not taking up that much memory & not consuming any of the other phone's resources.

I've never had an issue with uninstalling ADW, I do it every time. Usually go with Zeam, it's simplistic and feels quicker.

Did anyone else get the email from google asking to register your Nexus S after flashing to CM7.2?

And as far as the launchers go, I uninstalled ADW after installing goLauncher and making it a system application via tibu. Got the fc just like travioso said. Other than that, no problems.

I got the email too. And also noticed if I go to the market on my computer it has me listed as having 2 devices. It says I have 2 Cricket Communications Huawei M860's. Which I have MetroPCS and not Cricket. But if i install an app from the market while on my computer no matter which device is selected it still goes to my phone.

I got it about a month ago on another CM7 build, has something to do w/CM7 for the ASCEND being based off of the NEXUS,(something like that) I believe.
Someone told me that in response to that same question about a month ago, can't remember which thread, probably this one.(I'm using the PHANDROID APP ATM,otherwise,I'd look it up for y'all & give the quote).

One more question on the subject:
Once you make LPP,GO LAUNCHER,etc.... a system app, would it be safe to delete the stock CM7 launcher(ADW),or just leave it on as a system app & run the new launcher by default?

I previously tried this same method w/the keyboard, making SWIFTKEY X a system app,did not turn out well at all, constant F/C,& tried moving back as a user app, still F/C.Ended up having to do a total wipe & re-install of CM7.

Anyone have similar,or hopefully better results w/SWIFTKEY X or another keyboard?

SwiftKey X works fine for me. I had to uninstall and reinstall at first because I lost my wifi during the first attempt to dl and was having some issues. But since then I haven't had any problems.

its safe to delete adw once you made LP a system app, or any other launcher you install.

You have it installed as a system app?
It works fine for me as a user app.I only experienced issues-F/C when I attempted to convert to a system app using TITANIUM BACKUP PRO.

No. I have it as a user app. As I said, I only had problems because I didn't get the full dl due to losing wifi signal. I uninstalled, then reinstalled and it works great now.

I wish I had read this earlier. I had the same thing happen to me with the Swype beta and I had to re install it. Luckily I didn't have to re do the whole ROM.

I read it just in time.. :) anyone had any luck converting go sms to system app in tibu? Had sms issues lately (not getting them) and was seeing if that could possibly fix it.. Already have it locked in memory.. Class 10 sd card.. Running out of ideas..

What's the advantage of making it a system app?

Was gonna delete the stock keyboard & only have SWIFTKEY X . I now remember this may not be a good idea, I also have ULTRA KEYBOARD & there were a couple of apps that didn't accept input from it.This has probably been fixed since then(haven't used it in a long time),& hasn't been an issue w/SWIFTKEY X.
Mainly, just wanting to pare down apps that I don't use, that's all.
Only issue I've had is selecting SWIFTKEY X as default keyboard does not hold, reverts back to stock on reboot, was hoping that making it a system app would eliminate that problem.

Huh. My swiftkey has always held. The issue I have with it is that the only way for me to make it the default keyboard is to download it from market and go through the initial setup. Reinstalling from TB won't let me make it the default.

That might be my problem,I got my SWIFTKEY X from AMAZON(paid app of the day for free program).
Just weird that it won't hold as default keyboard after reboot.Even tried fix permissions, still doesn't hold as default after reboot.
Not too much of an issue otherwise, just weird.May drop the app developer an email,if I get any feedback,I'll share my findings here.

Edit:I've tried through SETTINGS>KEYBOARD & select SWIFTKEY X as default,it doesn't hold after reboot.

Nope, it won't. Can you redownload an app of the day?
Something else I haven't tried is to wipe all data for it in TB, then run the app. Might work.

Edit: That does it. Either wipe data if it's installed, or install app only.

Yes,you can uninstall & redownload any app from AMAZON(paid or free),they keep a list of all apps you previously downloaded, not a problem.
You are not charged for a purchased app again, whether you actually paid for it or got it through the 'Paid app for free app of the day' promotion.
One word of caution:
Do not link your AMAZON paid apps to the ANDROID MARKET(GOOGLE MARKET) using the link apps feature in TITANIUM BACKUP.
You run the risk of paying for the app again if you update an AMAZON paid app in the (GOOGLE) ANDROID MARKET.
I did this w/FANCY WIDGETS PRO.No biggie, just that I now have two copies of it,one from AMAZON, one from GOOGLE.

I've not used amazon apps since it was reported their app is back doored! ;)

ok, I read the same thing about a2sd, it installs apps to sd automatically. But when I go to "Manage Applications" if I click on any app, I can see the menu "Move to SD". So what is going on? Where are they exactly? and how to know which apps are on the phone and which ones are in this special place?

if you install one of the cm7 which had a2sd and you partition your sd card, your apps are already moved and DONT moved them from manage apps as they will say they not on the sd card.
