yeppers, some peoples still have this issue...but also what works is when the drag down the bar to put it in usb mode, sometimes it dont work, and how to fix that is unplug usb and plug it back in and BAMMMMM all good.

yup with that cm6/cm7 you have to get use to it...i know i did constantly plugging/unpluggin but i can deal with it, lol

I'm having a problem with my apple Ibook g4 recognizeing the phone as a storage device. Its a ppc not intel apple. I do the normal same as I do on windows 7 I pull down the notifications and click the turn on under the android bot. But nothing, my ibook pops up with the device isn't compatible gives option to ignore or eject. It worked with the original factory bloat ware and worked with Icarus but now its not. I think it worked with the latest build before this any ideas.

on the stock (which icarus is built) there was a partition in CD format that the ascend driver were on along with a autorun.ini, thus why it doesnt work on custom ROMs like CM6/7.

Going to have to beg to differ. CM6 is great on the phone and CM7's bugs do not make it unusable.

if 2.1 was good for the ascend...why you looking on the forum....lol j/k but for real 2.1 is crap, and about the ascend is not a good phone, well everyone has there opinion but my question is....since you have one, make the best of it....

I've been running CM7 for a month or better and it fin RULES, 2.1 cant touch it no matter wtf is done to it. Its faster, smoother, more features, overclocked, looks amazing.
People use to claim winbose 95 was all you'd ever need too!!!!!
See this is the nice thing about linux, you can always build a kernel to work with the hardware at hand. Yea some features may not work in the OS, but its hardware issues.
But yes the ascend is limited and prolly does better with 2.2. 2.1 tho shouldnt be coming out on anything just like win98 and xp are obsolete.

I do not know if this has been posted already. I posted it on Prepaidandroids.net. So I'm going to post it here to spread the joy.
Without MetrOFF - These settings are for cm7 to get MMS working. I do not know if the same would work on cm6, I think Pip has a fully working one for Metro and Cricket already (Or will shortly maybe?). EDIT: I have been notified this works for cm6 as well.
First you have to go to the Voice Dialer, Say "Open Apns". You might have to say it and try different pronunciations for it to work but, Don't give up! Then once you are in there make sure you delete all the other APN listed there. After you've done that, Create the new one. Make sure you have the dot on green before you exit it!
Edit: I also am now getting more bars. It is not showing none as it previously was.

Btw Issac do you know when you will release the next build of cm7 with the mms fix for metro users? I don't know why but for some reason even with the metoff fix I can send mms but cant recieve anything from certain friends of mine on metro...its weird. just thought I'd ask
you must be doing something wrong or you missing a step cuz is working fine make sure you using CWM 2.5.1.8 and flash the fix

No one should be using MetrOFF. Please read over the posts. You'll find that one all the roms it's not needed anymore.

I agree in the fact that Icarus was stable. Indeed I'd had it for 2 months myself. Though I have to disagree that the Cm series roms are unstable (Or that they "Blow").
Honestly, We're very lucky these developers have taken their time to do even a THIRD of what they do for us. If you don't like it, great. Just don't bash it unless you've tried it and played with it for a while. I've had Icarus, Cm6 and Cm7, Ran all of them fine.
I personally love Cm7. Oh and just as my mother once told me: "If you don't have anything nice to say about something, Perhaps it's best to say nothing at all."

Very good post here sweetie...i feel the same specially when something dont go there way or something happens, the roms gets the blame when 99.9% of the time is the user....

take out the battery and look at the little white pad on the phone and see if water had reach back there, if not than i would take it back to metro for an exchange, if its doing that and you didnt install no roms or rooted it.
