Root [ROM][WIP] CyanogenMod 7 | Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) | Current Version: 09122011

Originally I rooted my phone when I had 2.1. I went to CM7, then to CM6 and I'm going to try CM7 once again with the new build. I am wondering though if I'm messing up the SD card. because when I was running eclair stock wiht metro, i rooted it and used link2sd. moved several apps to external. I used rom manager to create the partition on the sd card. I think it created an ext7 partition. however that works, not sure. I never formatted my sd card so I'm thinking it might be a good time to do so.I backed everything up so no worries. My real question is this.. I don't know how the cm7 or even cm6 uses the "move to sd". is it automatically going into the partition i previously created or is it using a new partition. I only have a 2gb sd but I feel like I'm running out of space easier than before. What should I do, should I unpartition or just reformat the sd when I reinstall? or is having that partition the reason why my "move to sd" is working?

I was almost late for my cal exam today, for the same reason haha.

wow I forgot to think it was even worth mentioning, but I was almost late to my dentist's appointment a second ago too. I woke up and look at the phone and it said 8:14. I felt relief, then realized there's no way it could be 8am still, and a second later and it updates to 12:54, when my appointment is at 1! Turns out my appointment was tomorrow so no worries!

if the items are as important as you make them sound, why are you relying on a device with a battery to wake you up. dont be cheap go buy a $5 alarm clock from walmart.

True that. Electric alarm clock with a battery back up is best. That way either way as long as it doesn't set on fire, get sucked out by a tornado, or gets water damage from a tsunami/hurricane you'll be getting up! :P

Not that its a huge deal to me as I have alarm clocks for days..it was just a matter of convenience to use the phone. Definitely not a matter of low funds. But its the price you have to pay to run these sweet ROMs. Haha ill take the reg alarm clock over a crappy stock phone any day.

So, the guy behind ClockworkMod and ROM Manager has made a new project (currently in beta) that allows any ROM devs to host their ROMs on his project site.

Why is this helpful? Instead of having to manually download every new build, updates will show up and you flash the newest build from ROM manager.

I'm still researching this.

good work there....:)

I do have regular alarm clock, but yes its out of convenince -- plus have you tried AlarmDroid? Flip to snooze and reads stuff out to you and online radio streaming? :P

Its ok. I'll just plug in that clunky alarm I have.\

AWESOME!

CM7 is definitely more visually appealing and smoother then CM6. Not being able to transfer files to the phone on the computer is kind of a biatch but I have a car reader.

you do a full wipe b4 u flashed it? I have no issues with the sdcard or connecting to windows or linux via usb.
Yeah, I did full wipe. WHat do you know...I think it works now! Yesterday after I flashed cm7, I couldn't move any files to the phone on my computer. Maybe some reboots between then and now did the job.
