recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.4-ascend.img (save in a cwm folder if you don't have cwm, if you do rename it recovery.img and save to current cwm replacing already existing file)

update-cm7-03302011-NIGHTLY-Ascend-signed.zip (save in a folder you can find easy)

open cwm and go to backup/restore
select backup.

reboot phone and connect to usb

copy your sd card a folder for safe keeping.

copy gapps and cm7 .zips to sd card

disconnect from usb and turn off phone.

boot to fast boot (vol DOWN, HANGUP, POWER)

connect usb to pc

open cwm folder previously dl/d and: run the install-recovery file according to os (for windows .bat)

disconnect usb and pull Battery out for ten seconds

boot into cwm
your cwm should now be orange and black instead of green and black.

wipe data/ factory reset
wipe cache
under advanced wipe dalvik cache
(optional) under mounts and storage, format following... boot, data system cache

install .zip from sd
chose zip from sd.
install cm7 rom
install gapps

advanced, fix permissions

restart system now.

Any other Setting on spare parts should i know about Changing or anything?

And on your steps I didnt have to do anything from windows except move the zip and img files to my sd card.

we need carrier info for 2.3 afaik. it's complicated.

oh, just throwing it out ther but... cm6 runs a tad smoother and has the same fixes now... it cm7 is lagging you should hit up cm6.

that was me lol, yea I had it on 2.1 n loved it n redl'd it on cm7 too.

umm u interest me with changing up the boot screen n font. How ya go about that?

And Ascend, the home key was about all I had to use spare parts for, but ya never know lol.

Oh I still havent found where to set that roaming indicator, enable international roaming maybe?

Has anyone else noticed that the sound volume is much lower with this rom? I have to turn up my ringer volume all the way and still it is not as loud as it used to be.

sound settings, volume. slide top slider all the way over. it's actually louder than before. just tested it against a stock ascend on a db reader.

also, explore the DSPmanager in your app drawer.phone speaker, enable eq, slide all up to two.

the first should only show for a second or two. it cannot be changed.

Root tools is the app i used. I think theres a free version but i got the paid. Some of the stuff I found doesn't work on this rom but you can still free memory, clear cache, and change boot anims and fonts with it. It also has its own backup stuff, I never use it tho

Does cm7 not come with the flash 4 lite? If not does anyone have a link to where I can get it?

I've not ran icarus but youtube vids seem to run fine on mine, tho I did have wifi on when I tried it lol

Had you backed up to google??? I had and it restored my contacts and one app I had b4.
