Root [ROM][WIP] CyanogenMod 7 | Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) | Current Version: 09122011

I've received double text messages ever since being with metro in general.. even on my samsung freeform dumbphone.. :D Believe it was even happening on stock 2.1.. Only had it a few days before becoming a flash junkie..

Had to try it :) So far so good.. Runs great.. Had the issue with the data but got that knocked out by setting the APN.. Big switch from cm7 though but i knew that.. I'll be going back prob in a few days.. :D Gonna play with this for a few days to get it all set up to nandroid it.. Speaking of which, one of the major things I miss so far from cm7 is the notification bar widget.. Would you by chance know where to get it from if its even possible.. I googled around but no luck..

Well, I don't think Huawei would ever release Android 2.3 on the Ascend. So, I took it upon myself to try and get it on there. I'm currently releasing builds (should be beta stage, now) of CM7 (Android 2.3.4).

The reason I donated is I saw people advertising on craigslist to do this flash for 25.00. I think you should get the money since it is your work.

The camera and videocam are now working in CM7-Ascend. Bar-code scanners still wont work with it tho.
 
hi. i just wanted to kno if it is ever possible to get flash up without the extra browser from the market . i kno flash needs arm7 and 1ghz processing power but is it possible to work around it. just a curious noob :)

I'm running Cyanbread theme from Theme Chooser, ADW home launcher with Antique CM for custom icons, Cyanbread X for custom wallpaper, and Wigitzoid for custom Widgets..:) Cyan and black top to bottom.

Oooh, that does sound shiny. Lol. I like how customizable ADW is but I just couldn't give up the smoothness of launcher pro. Plus I have the honeycomb look so it's pretty slick now. :p
 
i have the unlock version bought from market and have customize it like crazy, with fancy widgets pro also. And wave launcher on top of launcher pro.
 
When i try to flash theCm7 update kernel. Zip with kernel manager pro it says required bianary flash image missing what's that all about I've got it working with cwr but no wifi and when I get a call the dial pad pops up all screwy then data slowed to a stop it was set at 729mhz i checked and I did flash the current cm6 and gapps any ideass

But if you really want to save time, chances are if your oc'd to 710 on the 0521 build you would have no problem at 748. Isaac tweaked the oc kernal on the new build so this is more accurate than the previous build. So long story short oc'd at 710 on this build is faster than 748 on the 0509 build.:D

sweetness i git it to work with cm6 with some bugs like no wifi and a screwy call screen also sloooooooowwww data
 
I've setup my extra laptop to build Android. This means I'll do periodic builds of CM7-Ascend. There's only one thing: I'm not going to work on it. Unless there's super easy fix that can be implemented, all I'll do is sync with CM7 repos to keep it up-to-date. I'm not doing anymore kernel work or ROM fixes.

There will be some new instructions to install new builds of CM7. Nothing crazy, but I'm not going to work on the wiki anymore since all I'm doing is keeping it updated with CM. Since Koush seems to ignore anyone not directly involved in the CM project, I'll have to keep CWM updated. New builds will be ROM Manager only.

P.S. My github is still up. If someone has code fixes for just do a pull request and I'll review the patch and merge.

P.S.S. I rarely ever check forums anymore, so don't expect any responses from me.

Well, I guess I spoke too soon.

Just did a test build and tried it out on a buddy's phone. I don't know what happened between 05/21/11 and now, but most important things are broken. WIFI doesn't work, no service anymore, and screen rotation doesn't work, overclocking is forced now.

Maybe I just missed something (which I don't think I did), but things aren't looking good.

might just be one of those ascend days with phone being lazy...but if you need me to test, pm me link and ill check it out also.

Ouch, but honestly you are like super ascend genious..so i have no doubts you will be able to get it running as well as CM6 if not better.

I'm not working on the Ascend anymore. I don't even have one anymore. I was only just going to keep it updated (which was a simple updating my repos and building). I didn't expect so many things to be broken.

There's a lot of code to sift through. It's up to the community to figure out what changed. Hopefully, it's just a simple fix.

P.S. In related news, I'm gonna look at working on a ROM for the Optimus V. Just to get my android junkie fix, I guess.
